In Karen State, Myawaddy Township, along the Mae Ka Naing\u2013Phalu forest road, at around 1:30 p.m. on February 24, junta forces reportedly carried out a drone bombing attack on a civilian vehicle heading out for shopping and another vehicle carrying DKBA members.
As a result of the attack, three civilians and two DKBA members\u2014five people in total\u2014were killed, and others were injured.
The DKBA is a signatory to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) and is also a group that has continued to hold meetings and discussions with the military authorities in Naypyidaw.
Similarly, on the evening of February 23, junta forces reportedly carried out a 500-pound bomb airstrike using a jet fighter on Sonseintphyar village in K\u2019Seikdo Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region, an area controlled by KNU Brigade 4.
According to the KNU, one civilian was killed, one injured, and four civilian homes were destroyed in that attack.
In Sagaing Region, Katha Township, junta forces also conducted consecutive airstrikes on February 23 and 24 against Thagara village on the western bank of the Ayeyarwady River.
As a result, a 10-year-old child suffered a ruptured eardrum, three houses were destroyed, and seven livestock animals\u2014including cows and horses\u2014were killed.

On February 25, the 5th anniversary of the founding of the Mandalay People\u2019s Defense Force (MDY-PDF), under the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG), congratulatory messages were sent by allied organizations.
In its message, the Ministry of Defense stated that \u201cMDY-PDF has earned special trust and reliance from the people due to its unity, discipline, and outstanding combat capabilities throughout the Spring Revolution.\u201d
It also urged the force to continue standing as a key driving force toward achieving the ultimate goals of the Spring Revolution, noting its effective performance in \u201cOperation 1027\u201d and the \u201cShan\u2013Mandalay Operation.\u201d
Similarly, the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) sent a message recognizing and taking pride in MDY-PDF\u2019s achievements over the past five years despite numerous challenges, and called for collective efforts to build a strong federal union army.
Other organizations that sent congratulatory messages included the Danu People\u2019s Liberation Front (DPLF), Burma Liberation Democratic Front (BLDF), Burma People\u2019s Liberation Army (BPLA), Mogok Strategy, Shwebo District Battalions (14) and (23), the Spring Revolution Alliance (SRA), and the University of Foreign Languages (Mandalay) Students\u2019 Union.

The People\u2019s Defense Force \u2013 Mandalay announced to the public that it is committed to continuing the fight until the military dictatorship is completely dismantled.
Formed from within the public during the Spring Revolution, Mandalay PDF stated that it has endured the ups and downs of the revolutionary struggle and has now reached its fifth anniversary.
It has designated February 25, 2021\u2014the date it decided to begin armed resistance\u2014as its founding day, marking five years since its establishment.
Currently, Mandalay PDF continues to serve revolutionary duties as a special operations force under the command of the NUG Ministry of Defense\u2019s central military headquarters and has reaffirmed its pledge to fight unwaveringly until the military dictatorship is eradicated.

In Sagaing Region, Khin-U Township, resistance forces attacked junta troops who were arbitrarily burning civilian homes, shops, and rice mills along the Khin-U\u2013Ye-U road. Two soldiers, including an officer, were reportedly killed, and one MA-1 rifle was seized, according to the Khin-U Township People\u2019s Defense Organization.
The announcement concerns a clash that took place around 6:00 p.m. on February 24 with junta troops stationed at Khin-U Township Public Hospital.
Approximately 40 junta soldiers, using armored vehicles shielded with metal plates, reportedly set fire to civilian homes, shops, and rice mills along the western exit of Khin-U town on the Khin-U\u2013Ye-U road.
Local People\u2019s Defense Forces (PaKaPha), underground units (UG PaKaPha), and regional defense groups jointly attacked the arson unit, leading to a head-on clash lasting nearly an hour. An officer identified as Captain Kyaw Ko Ko Oo was killed, and another soldier was injured, forcing the troops to retreat.
Captain Kyaw Ko Ko Oo, also known locally as \u201cArson Ko Ko,\u201d was reportedly cremated at the southern cemetery in Khin-U at 1:30 p.m. on February 25.
Resistance forces reported no casualties on their side and confirmed the seizure of one MA-1 rifle.
Locals said the deceased officer was notorious in the area for threats and acts of arson and was widely known by the nickname \u201cArson Ko Ko.\u201d

Clashes reportedly occurred between junta forces and resistance groups in Paingkyon (Karen State), Moebye (southern Shan State), and Khaozar in Ye Township (Mon State), resulting in casualties on the junta side.
According to a KNU central statement, fighting broke out on February 23 between junta troops advancing into KNU Brigade 7 territory in the Paingkyon area and joint KNU forces. Two junta soldiers were killed and eight injured.
Due to increased military activity aimed at retaking lost border outposts, residents near Paingkyon town have reportedly fled to safer areas.
Similarly, near Moebye, clashes have continued after Light Infantry Battalion (422) and allied Pa-O militia (PNO) advanced in large numbers. The military reportedly used heavy artillery and drones extensively, and two frontline outposts were temporarily withdrawn, according to the Southern Shan (Karenni) Military Region.
In Ye Township, at around 8:00 p.m. on February 24, Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) and Kanpauk PDF Battalion (8002) reportedly ambushed junta patrol troops near Khaozar Market. The 20-minute clash resulted in two junta soldiers killed and two injured, according to MSRF.

NUG Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung attended the Munich Security Conference (2026) in Germany, where she met with some world leaders and discussed Myanmar\u2019s situation.
She attended the opening ceremony alongside global leaders and foreign ministers and participated in related side meetings.
She also attended sessions featuring U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, where they outlined their respective foreign policy positions on current global affairs.
Additionally, she held a separate meeting with members of \u201cThe Elders,\u201d the organization founded by Nelson Mandela in 2007, led by former Colombian President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Juan Manuel Santos.
The meeting also included former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark, former Irish President (and the country\u2019s first female president) Mary Robinson, and Congolese Nobel Peace Prize laureate Denis Mukwege. They discussed Myanmar\u2019s political and military situation following the coup and the challenges faced by the people.
Daw Zin Mar Aung stated, \u201cIn every space and at every opportunity available, we are striving to secure as much support as possible for the revolutionary responsibilities of dismantling the military dictatorship and building a federal union.\u201d

A hearing on Myanmar will be held to address the country\u2019s current situation over the five years since the unlawful military coup and to discuss the path toward a genuine federal democratic transition.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Sangiin Giin Kaikan (House of Councillors Members\u2019 Office Building) in Tokyo, Japan, according to the NUG Representative Office in Japan.
Government officials, international diplomats, members of parliament, academics, media representatives, and Myanmar activists are expected to attend. The event will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with seating available from 3:30 p.m.
The hearing is jointly organized by the NUG Representative Office in Japan and the Japan Multi-Party Parliamentary Group. Due to venue and security limitations, attendees are encouraged to register in advance via the designated link.
The venue is Kodo Hall, 1F, Sangiin Giin Kaikan, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, accessible via Nagatacho or Kokkaigijido-mae stations.
