At the same time, the coup military appears to be swiftly preparing to exploit the situation, using the intelligence it has gained and taking advantage of the rapidly changing conditions and opportunities facing the revolutionary armed forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Local residents in the southern Sagaing Region, particularly around Pale and Yinmabin, had already begun fleeing when it became known that NUG-affiliated battalions would attack Bo Nagar\u2019s forces. After his surrender, the military has quickly acted on newly obtained intelligence, carrying out airstrikes and mobilizing ground columns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following limited clashes between Bo Nagar\u2019s forces and NUG\u2019s PDF battalions, Bo Nagar surrendered, and the coup military has been responding rapidly in military terms by utilizing the intelligence acquired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The previously stable military balance in upper Sagaing Region is now shifting. Since they are likely still armed, it is assumed that NUG-affiliated battalions are also trying to contain or secure these remaining members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is certain is that the coup military will attempt to regain control over the Pale and Yinmabin areas using the intelligence obtained from Bo Nagar. It highlights the urgent need for the NUG to adopt improved policies, engagement strategies, and guidance regarding locally formed defense forces (LPDFs) that have emerged regionally to fight the military dictatorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another major development today concerns the Prime Minister\u2019s Office. On the same night as Bo Nagar\u2019s surrender, the NUG issued an emergency statement regarding him. Within hours, it also released the decision of the investigative committee concerning allegations of corruption and abuse of power filed against Daw Kyi Pyar, the Secretary of the Prime Minister\u2019s Office, bearing the Prime Minister\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following this announcement, the NUG has faced criticism. Education staff under the NUG\u2019s Ministry of Education\u2014who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) after the coup\u2014expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation\u2019s outcome and announced that they would suspend the university entrance examination process they were implementing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This statement could have significant impact, as it represents not just criticism from outside the government but a form of protest from employees under the NUG itself.
