Myaing Pa Ka Pha announced today (January 25) that in Myaing Township, Magway Region, a clash with a junta ambush resulted in two deaths on the enemy side and three People\u2019s Defense Force fighters killed.
According to the report, in Kanni Pyu Saw Htee village the enemy militia and soldiers were found foraging on January 15 by reconnaissance drones. The PDF approached the location on January 22.
They encountered an enemy ambush that had been lying in wait, and a roughly one-hour firefight took place.
Because the enemy had superior firepower, the PDF forces withdrew. During the engagement, two of the enemy\u2019s Pyu Saw Htee were killed; three PDF fighters were killed and one PDF fighter was captured.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMyaing Pa Ka Pha urged local leaders who coordinate closely with civilians to systematically gather intelligence before moving and to act cautiously because enemy outposts have increased military activity.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
2) Kyaukphyu Township: military airstrikes kill 4 (including displaced civilians); 9 injured (including an infant)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The Arakan Army (AA) reported that in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, the military carried out aerial bombing against displaced civilians, killing four civilians \u2014 including an 81-year-old displaced woman \u2014 and injuring nine people, including an infant.
The AA said that around 1:00 p.m. on January 24, two drones bombed an area near the high school in Muhruin (Mu Wun) village where displaced people were sheltering. Among the dead were Daw Phyu Nu Ma (81) and U Hmye Daung (56).
Those wounded included a 9-month-old baby Maung Aye Min Khine from Saing Khun Dwin village; Daw Khin San Win (34); Daw Ma Mya Yin (56) from Thaing Chaung village; Daw Ba Nu Ma from Zai Chaung village; and U Maung Kyaw (63).
The AA added that at about 4:40 p.m. the same day the military again bombed Muhruin with two drones, and at 5:20 p.m. a jet fighter bombed Muhruin and Kone Boun villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe AA also reported earlier strikes on January 18\u201319 in Kyaukphyu Township (Kyauk Ka Lay village), including jet fighters, drones, and naval artillery, which killed two civilians, injured two, and burned houses. On January 22 a drone attack on Kun Bwe village injured two civilians. The AA says the military has repeatedly bombed locations sheltering displaced civilians with jet fighters and drones.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
3) In Kyar Inn Seik Gyi and Mone townships: junta shooting kills a civilian woman; airstrikes injure four civilians<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The Karen National Union (KNU) reported civilian casualties from junta gunfire and air attacks within Karen areas.
In Wabo Kon village, Kyar Inn Seik Gyi Township (Dooplaya District), on January 20 at about 6:42 p.m., a 41-year-old woman working in a rubber plantation near her home was shot by troops from LIB-284 and died from a gunshot wound near her left ear.
The KNU said junta troops have been firing indiscriminately inside villages, stopping and searching travelers, and even shooting rubber tappers without reason, causing daily fear among locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn Mone Township (Kler Lwee Htoo district), junta air and heavy-weapon strikes injured four civilians and damaged three houses. On January 23 at about 1:30 p.m. Than Bo battalion fired six 60mm rounds into Mani (Kwin), injuring Naw Phaw Tra Htee (25) from No Taw Tar village. On January 24 at about 11:26 a.m., a jet fighter from Taungoo dropped four bombs on villages on the western bank of the river, injuring U Naing Oo (55), U Toe Shwe (75), and Ma Thi Thi (27); three houses belonging to U Toe Shwe, U Naing Oo and Ma Khin San were hit and damaged.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
4) Attacks during sham election activity in Phyu, Waw and Hpakant townships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
In Phyu (Bago Region), Waw (Bago Region), and Hpakant (Kachin State) townships, resistance forces reportedly attacked locations while the junta election commission was conducting its sham election.
Phyu Pa Ka Pha said six places used for the election were hit with timed explosive devices on January 25: near the traffic light in Phyu town in front of a prominent motorcycle repair shop (6:25 a.m.); near Phyu police station (6:40 a.m.); in front of Phyu High School No. 3 (7:25 a.m.); and several spots around Nyaung Pin Thar town (north side of the football field along 8th Road, in front of a sawmill, and in front of the Nyaung Pin Thar high school).
They said the attacks were intended to deter people from leaving home because the junta had threatened three-year imprisonment for those who do not vote.
On January 23 in Waw Township (Thuyay Thumin village), KNLA Battalion 7 and Bago District Pa Ka Pha heavy-weapons units reportedly fired on junta forces providing election security.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn Hpakant on January 25, artillery shells landed during the sham election, injuring two women and forcing polling stations to close. Exchanges of fire since the night of January 24 reportedly resulted in up to nine local residents injured (including two women from Saing Taung Ward).<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
5) Junta columns burn villages in Myingyan, Kyaukpadaung, and Pakokku; Kawlin airstrike kills 1, injures 3<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Locals reported that junta columns have been conducting raids and burning villages in Myingyan Township (Mandalay Region), Kyaukpadaung Township, and Pakokku Township, including Kamma town.
On the morning of January 25, junta troops began burning Natyun Taung and Myauk villages in Myingyan Township. The same column had earlier looted homes in Nat Nyun village since January 22.
On January 23 the column burned Phaya Gyi Kon village in Kyaukpadaung Township; over 20 houses were destroyed. The column returned on January 25, causing villagers to flee.
On January 25 a junta column from Kamma police station reportedly raided Nyaung Kon ward and Gyo Pyan village and burned property.
There was an exchange of fire when resistance forces ambushed the column, lasting about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAdditionally, in eastern Kawlin Township a junta airstrike on Shan Kon village around 6:00 p.m. on January 24 killed a man in his 40s and injured three others.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
6) Attack on a junta column looting civilian property in southern Myaing Township<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Pakokku District Pa Ka Pha Division 5 (Ayeyar Daung group) reported it attacked a junta column that was looting civilian property in Kyo Tan village in southern Myaing Township.
The column reportedly departed Na Bone Kan village on January 18 and arrived at Kyo Tan on January 22, looting homes, stealing property, capturing and slaughtering villagers\u2019 chickens, and staying overnight. The next morning they burned homes; as they withdrew there was a roughly 30-minute firefight with PDF forces.
Two PDF fighters sustained non-critical injuries. Ayeyar Daung said it is still investigating junta casualties. After the clash the junta column entered the police station compound in Kamma town.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe attack was carried out jointly by ABSDF Column 3, Student Armed Force (SAF), Kamma joint force, local public security units (Red Giant RG, Hunter Pakokku, Bo Mee Taung, YGF youth guerrilla group), Pi PDF, Tiger Warrior Force, and Pakokku District Pa Ka Pha Division 5.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
7) Attack on a junta column burning homes near Shwe Kyun Thar village \u2014 two junta dead including an officer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
OneMore Column (Myingyan District Special Operations) announced that in an attack on a junta column burning homes near Shwe Kyun Thar village, two junta personnel \u2014 including an officer \u2014 were killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe engagement occurred on the morning of January 20. OneMore said they began attacking the column at around 8:00 a.m. The clash lasted about an hour; the junta lost an officer and a sergeant, many were wounded, and one allied-resistance fighter was also killed. OneMore expressed sorrow over the fallen allied fighter.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\ud83d\ude0e Budalin Township Pa Ka Pha completes \u201cMoun Man\u201d training batch (1); 107 trainees attended<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Budalin Township People\u2019s Defense Force announced it successfully completed the first weekly \u201cMoun Man\u201d training course for ward\/village-level PDF fighters.
The training aims to equip fighters with responsibilities and skills suited to the prolonged revolutionary period. A total of 150 people attended, including 107 trainees; instructors from Monywa District military department and Budalin Pa Ka Pha training officers taught the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe graduation was held later than planned due to air-attack risk; the training began around late 2025.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
9) Junta leader Min Aung Hlaing says he does not care whether the election is recognized internationally<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing reportedly said while visiting polling stations in Mandalay on January 25 that he does not care whether the international community recognizes the election organized by the junta.
He stated the election is decided by the votes of people living inside Myanmar \u2014 not by outsiders \u2014 and that he doesn\u2019t understand international recognition; the junta will recognize only the people\u2019s vote.
\u201cPeople living inside Myanmar voted. It\u2019s not outsiders who voted. Whether foreign countries recognize it or not, we don\u2019t understand. We will recognize the people\u2019s vote,\u201d he was quoted as saying.
He added that those who did not vote might be people whose preferred candidate was not present, or people prevented from reaching polling stations by security conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe USDP said its large vote shares in Phases 1 and 2 reflected people voting for whom they wanted.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
