From this moment on, we will be reading and presenting m.CDM\u2019s domestic news.<br>Today\u2019s news includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Monywa and Kantbalu townships, military airstrikes killed <strong>5 civilians<\/strong>, including <strong>3 children<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MDY PDF says it had to <strong>temporarily withdraw<\/strong> from some areas in Mattara, Singu, and Thabeikkyin townships, but will continue fighting to <strong>retake the areas<\/strong>, end dictatorship once and for all, and build a <strong>federal democratic system<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AAPP reports that in <strong>December<\/strong>, <strong>115 civilians<\/strong> (including pro-democracy activists) were killed due to the junta\u2019s actions, and <strong>8 people<\/strong> were arrested.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than <strong>600,000 Thai baht<\/strong> in seed capital was provided to <strong>14 CDM soldiers\/police and family members<\/strong> in Thailand, India, and liberated areas inside the country.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We will also present other related items.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) In Monywa and Kantbalu townships, military airstrikes kill 5 civilians including 3 children<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>m.CDM \u2013 January 3<\/strong><br>In <strong>Sagaing Region<\/strong>, the junta carried out an air attack on <strong>Nyaungpin Village<\/strong> in <strong>Monywa Township<\/strong> at around <strong>5:00 PM on January 2<\/strong>, using a <strong>gyrocopter (motorized paraglider\/gyrocopter)<\/strong> to drop bombs. The <strong>Monywa Township People\u2019s Security Team<\/strong> confirmed that <strong>two children<\/strong>, aged <strong>10<\/strong> and <strong>11<\/strong>, were killed, and <strong>six civilians<\/strong>\u2014including a <strong>7-year-old child<\/strong>\u2014were injured.<br>It was reported that there was <strong>no fighting<\/strong> at the time and that the attack <strong>targeted civilians who were bathing<\/strong>.<br>The children who died were identified as <strong>Maung Kyaw Min Htet (age 10)<\/strong> and <strong>Ma Thun Mi Mi Zaw (age 11)<\/strong> from Nyaungpin Village. Those injured were reported as: <strong>Maung Thura Naing (age 7)<\/strong>, <strong>Daw Mar Mar Win (38)<\/strong>, <strong>Daw Phyu Thwe Moe (36)<\/strong>, <strong>Daw Yi Win Thant (45)<\/strong>, <strong>Daw Zin Zin Htet (25)<\/strong>, and <strong>Daw San San Aye (43)<\/strong>.<br>One child died on the spot, and the other died upon arrival at the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Similarly, in <strong>Kantbalu Township<\/strong>, <strong>Htan Kone tract<\/strong>, <strong>Mei Thae Village<\/strong> was bombed at around <strong>10:00 PM on January 2<\/strong>. <strong>Three members of a civilian family<\/strong> were killed, with only a <strong>daughter<\/strong> surviving. Among the dead was an <strong>8-year-old child<\/strong>. <strong>Seven people<\/strong> were injured and <strong>eight houses<\/strong> were damaged.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) MDY PDF: Temporary loss of some areas in Mattara, Singu, and Thabeikkyin; will keep fighting to retake and end dictatorship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>m.CDM \u2013 January 3<\/strong><br>The <strong>People\u2019s Defense Force (Mandalay)<\/strong> stated that it had to <strong>temporarily withdraw<\/strong> from parts of <strong>eastern Mattara Township<\/strong>, <strong>Singu Township<\/strong>, and <strong>Thabeikkyin Township<\/strong> in <strong>Mandalay Region<\/strong>, but will continue fighting\u2014together with allied revolutionary forces\u2014to <strong>reclaim the areas<\/strong>, <strong>end dictatorship permanently<\/strong>, and <strong>build a federal democratic system<\/strong>.<br>It said that since <strong>late August 2024<\/strong>, junta forces have launched intense counteroffensives using <strong>ground, air, and river operations<\/strong> to regain control of these areas near Mandalay.<br>MDY PDF said it and allied Spring Revolution forces fought as hard as they could and held defensive positions for <strong>over 18 months<\/strong>. However, due to strategic considerations, the junta\u2019s superior counteroffensive strength, <strong>excessive airstrikes<\/strong>, battlefield fatigue from not getting rest, and shortages in manpower and ammunition\/resources, they were forced to <strong>pull back temporarily<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The group apologized to local residents for the areas falling back under junta control and paid tribute to the hundreds of revolutionary fighters who sacrificed their lives, blood, and sweat during the offensives and defensive battles. It also said it worked\u2014and will continue working\u2014to help civilians evacuate to safety during intense fighting.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) Fighting in Theinzayat: 9 clashes; 10 junta soldiers killed; 2 conscripts defect<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>m.CDM \u2013 January 3<\/strong><br>In <strong>Theinzayat town<\/strong>, <strong>Kyaikhto Township<\/strong>, <strong>Mon State<\/strong>, at least <strong>nine clashes<\/strong> occurred with a junta column, and <strong>10 junta soldiers<\/strong> were reportedly killed, according to a statement by <strong>Southern Eagle PDF<\/strong>.<br>The statement said that on <strong>December 26<\/strong>, a junta column of <strong>102 troops<\/strong> from <strong>LIB (3)<\/strong> under <strong>Light Infantry Division (44)<\/strong>\u2014led by the battalion commander and deputy commander\u2014advanced for \u201cpre-election security,\u201d and was attacked by <strong>KNLA, PDF, and local defense forces<\/strong>.<br>Between <strong>9:41 AM and 4:00 PM<\/strong>, there were nine engagements; the junta reportedly suffered at least ten fatalities, many injuries, and then withdrew.<br>During the fighting, junta artillery from <strong>Artillery Battalion 310<\/strong> fired indiscriminately, and a woman who was selling goods at a market in <strong>Gwaygyi Village<\/strong> was hit and killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The statement also said <strong>two newly conscripted soldiers<\/strong>, who had been forcibly recruited, fled and defected with <strong>two MA-1 rifles and ammunition<\/strong>. Separately, <strong>one junta soldier<\/strong> reportedly defected on <strong>January 1<\/strong> to <strong>Kawthaung District Battalion (1)<\/strong> with weapons and ammunition.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) In Pwintphyu Township, village administrator and group shot dead (4 killed on the spot)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>m.CDM \u2013 January 3<\/strong><br>In <strong>Kyaungkonegyee Village<\/strong>, <strong>Pwintphyu Township<\/strong>, <strong>Magway Region<\/strong>, the village administrator and members of his group were shot, and <strong>four people died at the scene<\/strong>, according to information from a Pwintphyu Township revolutionary coalition.<br>At around <strong>4:00 AM on January 3<\/strong>, revolutionary forces reportedly entered the village monastery compound\u2014where the administrator was staying\u2014and opened fire. The administrator was identified as <strong>Pyarr Oo (aka Min Khine Oo)<\/strong>, said to be in his 40s. The other reported dead were <strong>Aung Aung<\/strong>, <strong>Yin Min Htun<\/strong>, and <strong>Aung Myint Thu<\/strong>, described as members linked to the Pyu Saw Htee.<br>One Pyu Saw Htee member was reportedly hit and escaped.<br>After the shooting, forces reportedly seized <strong>two long knives<\/strong>, <strong>one firearm<\/strong>, <strong>one ballistic vest<\/strong>, <strong>one hand grenade<\/strong>, <strong>two magazines<\/strong>, <strong>three mobile phones<\/strong>, some ammunition, and some cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It was claimed the administrator and group had threatened displaced civilians with a <strong>500,000 kyat fine<\/strong> if they did not return to the village, and had also carried out arrests for extortion and motorbike seizures\u2014leading to the \u201cclearing operation,\u201d according to the report. The village was described as a strong Pyu Saw Htee base; on <strong>December 23<\/strong>, an attack on the village militia post reportedly killed <strong>six<\/strong> Pyu Saw Htee members.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5) Over 600,000 Thai baht in seed funding provided to 14 CDM soldiers\/police and families (Thailand, India, and liberated areas)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>m.CDM \u2013 January 3<\/strong><br>The <strong>Pyithu Pantai<\/strong> group announced that under its \u201c<strong>Breaking Out for the Future<\/strong>\u201d small livelihood\/business incubation program, it provided <strong>more than 600,000 Thai baht<\/strong> in startup capital to <strong>14 CDM soldiers\/police and family members<\/strong> living in <strong>Thailand, India, and liberated areas inside Myanmar<\/strong>.<br>The group said it launched the program in <strong>September 2025<\/strong> together with an advisory and supervision team called <strong>The Next Step Project<\/strong>, aiming to help CDM soldiers\/police who defected to the people\u2019s side build sustainable small businesses.<br>Applicants were reportedly assessed based on criteria including active participation in the revolution, willingness to continue contributing, ability to run businesses in line with <strong>human rights and ethical standards<\/strong>, feasibility of the project, and local context. From applicants, <strong>20 people<\/strong> were selected for training and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">After completing training, participants could submit proposals for seed funding. A committee reviewed and selected projects, and in <strong>December<\/strong> provided a total of <strong>about 627,000+ Thai baht<\/strong> to 14 recipients. Recipients are expected to implement their businesses under the supervision of Pyithu Pantai and The Next Step Project.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6) Third incineration of seized narcotics in Kantbalu Township<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>m.CDM \u2013 January 3<\/strong><br>The <strong>Kantbalu Township People\u2019s Administration Team<\/strong> announced that on <strong>January 3<\/strong>, it carried out a <strong>third<\/strong> destruction (by burning) of seized narcotic drugs for which cases had been fully adjudicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The destroyed drugs reportedly included <strong>2,075 WY tablets<\/strong>, <strong>197 packets of WY powder<\/strong>, and <strong>5 pieces of ICE<\/strong>. The incineration was carried out in the presence of officials from the people\u2019s administration, judiciary, people\u2019s police, and witnesses. The statement also claimed the suspects were linked to the junta.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7) AAPP: 115 civilians killed and 8 arrested in December due to junta actions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>m.CDM \u2013 January 3<\/strong><br>The <strong>Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)<\/strong> released its <strong>December 2025 monthly summary<\/strong> on January 3, stating that across the country, <strong>8 people<\/strong> were politically arrested in December, and a total of <strong>115 people<\/strong>\u2014including pro-democracy activists and civilians\u2014were killed due to the junta\u2019s actions. AAPP noted that the tally includes at least <strong>one person<\/strong> who died after being arrested for various reasons.<br>AAPP emphasized that the figures reflect only information it has been able to collect and independently verify, and that the real number on the ground could be higher. It said it is separately collecting information on around <strong>120 additional deaths<\/strong> still pending verification.<br>In the same statement, AAPP also discussed notable December developments, including the junta\u2019s insistence on holding what it described as a <strong>sham election<\/strong> in pursuit of international recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AAPP Joint Secretary <strong>Ko Bo Kyi<\/strong> was quoted as saying that the December 28 election was among the least free and least publicly supported elections\u2014an election in which the military \u201cre-elected\u201d itself\u2014and stressed that Myanmar\u2019s problems cannot be solved by a \u201csham election,\u201d but require the unconditional release of all political prisoners, including President <strong>U Win Myint<\/strong> and <strong>Daw Aung San Suu Kyi<\/strong>, and accountability for unlawful killings and violence against civilians.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These were the news items presented today, contributed by <strong>Ko Thit Lu Lay<\/strong> and <strong>Khar Shell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello \/ Mingalaba.
