Gen. Gun Maw urges revolutionary forces to discard \u201cwho is above, who is below\u201d thinking, and to lead not only in armed struggle but also in public services and administration through strategic planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Homes destroyed by junta airstrikes in Thandwe while the world was welcoming the New Year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yangon Revolutionary Brotherhood (Y4B) declares it will continue the revolutionary journey until the end despite arrests and repression<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 1<br>Five Killed, Including a Monk, Due to Junta Airstrikes, Village Raids, and Killings<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 31<br>On December 31 at around 4:00 p.m., junta forces carried out an airstrike using a jet fighter, dropping two 500-pound bombs near Nyaungkone Village in Myaing Township, Magway Region, despite there being no active fighting in the area.<br>As a result of the bombing:<br>\u2022 Two civilians were killed<br>\u2022 Five civilians were injured, with two in critical condition<br>\u2022 Three houses were burned to ashes<br>Similarly, on December 29, junta forces conducted an airstrike without any clashes on Uyin Gyi Village in Kyaukpadaung Township, Bago Region.<br>\u2022 One mother and her child were killed<br>\u2022 One civilian was injured<br>In Kyi Kone Village, Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, junta troops had been stationed for nearly a month. Upon withdrawing on December 27, they set fire to the monastery, killed the resident monk Venerable Bhaddanta Sumanabhivamsa, and looted valuable items.<br>Items they could not transport were dumped along the roadside. Bomb shelters dug for children were destroyed, and both the eastern and western parts of Kyi Kone Village were left resembling a devastated ghost village.<br>Additionally, on the night of December 28, soldiers stationed at a junta checkpoint at Myohla Village entrance in Kalay Township arbitrarily shot a local resident, Ko Maung Gyi (43 years old).<br>After being shot, he was beaten with rifle butts. He was denied medical treatment and later died from excessive blood loss.<br>The soldiers attempted to conceal the body and delayed family members. When the family finally recovered the body, they found:<br>\u2022 A gunshot wound crossing the chest<br>\u2022 Visible injuries from being beaten with rifle butts<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 2<br>Lt. Gen. Gun Maw Calls for Unity and Strategic Leadership Beyond Armed Struggle<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 31<br>Kachin Independence Organization (KIO\/KIA) Vice Chairman Lt. Gen. Gun Maw, in a speech sent on December 30 to mark the second anniversary of the Chin Brotherhood, urged revolutionary forces to stay on the correct path and to view unity based on truth and justice as the only genuine source of strength for victory.<br>He stated:<br>\u201cRevolution means resisting injustice. If we see ourselves as revolutionaries, we must remain on the right path. Unity is crucial. Competing with the enemy\u2019s military power alone is difficult. Only unity grounded in truth is real strength, and this is something we must always remember.\u201d<br>He acknowledged that battles may involve victories, defeats, or the capture of positions, but emphasized that the final outcome of the revolution must be victory.<br>He said the ultimate goal of that victory is the establishment of a genuine federal democratic union, and expressed confidence that revolutionary forces share this common objective.<br>Lt. Gen. Gun Maw urged forces to view the Spring Revolution as a new political era, emphasizing that it is not only an armed struggle but also a process of nation-building. He called for:<br>\u2022 Gathering experts<br>\u2022 Leading with strategic planning<br>\u2022 Strengthening public services and administrative sectors, not just combat operations<br>Ah Han, [12\/31\/2025 11:44 PM]<br>He also warned against hierarchical thinking such as \u201cwho is above and who is below,\u201d and against being influenced by divisive narratives among organizations.<br>Drawing an analogy, he said that just as small streams combine to form the Ayeyarwady River, united revolutionary forces can benefit the entire nation.<br>He concluded by expressing hope that the strength and resources of the Chin people would become invaluable assets for a federal democratic union.<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 3<br>Pregnant Woman Injured by Junta Artillery Attack in Thandaunggyi<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 30<br>According to the Karen National Union (KNU), a full-term pregnant woman was injured due to junta artillery fire in Thandaunggyi Town, Toungoo District, within KNU-administered Kawthoolei territory.<br>On December 27 at around 8:00 p.m., artillery shells fired from the junta\u2019s Bayinnaung military base landed and exploded in Ward No. (1), Chi La Phlaw Khee area.<br>As a result, Naw Lah May Phaw (32 years old), daughter of Saw Tha Du, sustained injuries to her chin.<br>The KNU also reported that during the junta\u2019s so-called election in Thandaunggyi Township, voting was conducted only at two locations inside military units\u2014LIB 124 and a combat training school.<br>Only soldiers and staff were allowed to vote, and not a single local civilian participated.<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 4<br>Junta Camp Attacked on the East Bank of the Sittaung River; Three POWs Captured<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 30<br>In O Myay Htaw Village, Yedashe Township, Toungoo District, Bago Region, resistance forces attacked a junta camp stationed on the eastern bank of the Sittaung River, according to Battalion 805 of the Naypyidaw PDF.<br>The attack took place on December 30 and involved:<br>\u2022 Battalion 805<br>\u2022 Htan Taung Column<br>\u2022 Battalion 901 Naypyidaw PDF<br>\u2022 Northern Thandaung resistance group<br>The junta camp reportedly housed around 60 troops. During the fighting:<br>\u2022 Junta soldiers were killed or wounded and fled across the Sittaung River to the west bank<br>\u2022 Resistance forces seized the main camp and all village outposts<br>Weapons and supplies seized included:<br>\u2022 One 60mm mortar<br>\u2022 One MA-13 rifle<br>\u2022 Six RPG rounds<br>\u2022 Nine rocket propellants<br>\u2022 Three MA-13 magazines<br>\u2022 Two 60mm shells<br>\u2022 Various 9mm and 5.56 ammunition<br>\u2022 Five directional mines<br>\u2022 Military equipment, solar panels, and batteries<br>Three junta soldiers were captured alive.<br>On the resistance side:<br>\u2022 One fighter was killed<br>\u2022 Five were injured, with one in critical condition<br>Due to ongoing reinforcement and renewed advances by junta forces, clashes continue. Civilians near the Sittaung River were warned to exercise extreme caution.<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 5<br>Homes Burned in Junta Airstrike on Thandwe During New Year Celebrations<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 31<br>According to the Arakan Army\u2019s Information Department, junta forces carried out an airstrike on Ward No. (1), Thandwe Town, Thandwe District, Rakhine State, at approximately 7:28 p.m. on December 31, while people around the world were welcoming the New Year.<br>The bombing caused several residential houses to be destroyed by fire.<br>Details regarding casualties have not yet been confirmed.<br>The statement also noted that on the night of December 30, junta forces conducted another airstrike on Ngapali Town in Thandwe Township.<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 6<br>One Junta Soldier Defects with Weapons; Two Conscripts Captured After Fleeing<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 30<br>A junta soldier from LIB 561, based in Nyaungpinkwin Village, Tanintharyi Township, defected with weapons, according to Myeik District Battalion No. (3).<br>On December 27 at around 1:00 p.m., the soldier, Thura Aung, surrendered with:<br>\u2022 Two hand grenades<br>\u2022 154 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition<br>\u2022 One pair of handcuffs<br>He had served four years in the military and is currently being safely protected at a secure location.<br>Similarly, two newly conscripted soldiers who fled from SAC Military Operations Command 19, based in Ye Town, Mon State, were captured alive by the Ta Pin Shwe Htee Ko Kyaik People\u2019s Defense Force.<br>The two men:<br>\u2022 Maung Aung Thet Oo (23)<br>\u2022 Maung Kyaw Min Soe (22)<br>Ah Han, [12\/31\/2025 11:44 PM]<br>were captured on December 6. They are locals from Thaton Township and had been forcibly conscripted under Training Batch No. (16).<br>The resistance group stated they would treat the two soldiers in accordance with humanitarian principles.<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 7<br>Junta Forces Guarding Elections Attacked Three Times in Bokpyin<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 30<br>In Bokpyin Township, Tanintharyi Region, junta forces deployed for election security in Pyigyimandaing Town were attacked three times, according to Kawthaung District Battalion No. (1).<br>\u2022 December 26, 8:00 a.m.: A drone attack targeted troops preparing a polling station near the Laynya Bridge.<br>\u2022 About five junta soldiers, including an officer, were reportedly killed or injured.<br>\u2022 December 28, 7:00 a.m.: Junta troops resting at the Pyigyimandaing police station hill were fired upon with 40mm rounds, resulting in brief clashes.<br>\u2022 December 29, around 2:00 p.m.: Drone bombs struck junta troops stationed at the Twin Elephants Monastery.<br>The attacks were jointly carried out by:<br>\u2022 Kawthaung District Battalion No. (1) SOF<br>\u2022 Bokpyin PaKaFa<br>\u2022 Dragon Squad \u2013 TNI<br>At least three junta soldiers were killed, and around two were injured.<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 8<br>Heavy Weapons Attack on Junta Forces Inside Ontaw Development School<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 30<br>In Ontaw Village, Sagaing Township, resistance forces launched a heavy weapons attack on junta troops and affiliates preparing to hold a sham election inside the Ontaw Development School, according to Generation Z Power Mandalay.<br>The attack occurred on December 28 at around 1:30 p.m. All artillery rounds landed inside the school compound, damaging:<br>\u2022 The headmaster\u2019s house<br>\u2022 Trench fortifications<br>Many junta soldiers were reportedly injured.<br>Although junta troops returned fire with small arms for an extended period, resistance fighters withdrew safely without casualties.<br>The operation was jointly carried out by:<br>\u2022 Generation Z Power (Mandalalay) Urban Guerrilla PDF<br>\u2022 Taw Twin Tup Pee LDF<br>\u2022 Local PaKaFa units<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 9<br>Graduation Ceremonies Held for PRA-Magway and Southern Eagle PDF Training Batches<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 31<br>The People\u2019s Revolutionary Alliance \u2013 Magway (PRA-Magway) announced that the graduation ceremony for Basic Military Training Batch No. (\ud83d\ude0e was held on December 28 at its training school.<br>The training lasted over three months.<br>In addition, photos were released from the graduation ceremony of Batch No. (7) of the \u201cEagle King\u201d Basic Military Training, conducted by P29909 Southern Eagle PDF Battalion, under Strategic Command No. (36) of the People\u2019s Defense Force.<br>\u2e3b<br>News Item 10<br>Y4B Vows to Continue the Revolution Until the End Despite Arrests and Repression<br>m.CDM \u2013 December 31<br>The Yangon Revolutionary Brotherhood \u2013 Y4B declared on December 31 that no matter how severe arrests and repression become, they will continue the revolutionary journey until the end.<br>Despite tight security and repression in Yangon, Y4B reported that during 2025 they successfully carried out:<br>\u2022 19 urban strikes and ground actions<br>\u2022 22 humanitarian support operations<br>\u2022 27 online campaign actions<br>\u2022 3 boycott campaigns<br>They explained that the ability to raise revolutionary flags on Yangon\u2019s streets came at the cost of fighters risking their lives.<br>Through flash protests lasting mere seconds in crowded areas, they demonstrated that public resistance remains strong. Anti-dictatorship messages were displayed in iconic urban locations to boost public morale.<br>Y4B emphasized that the revolution and the people are inseparable, like fish and water.
