accordance with **Kawthoolei law**.

—

### 3) Attack on a military column in Yinmabin: 9 soldiers killed and more than 15 injured

**m.CDM, December 22**

In **Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region**, a military column of about **200 troops** was attacked, resulting in **9 soldiers killed** and **no fewer than 15 injured**, according to a statement released today by **Yinmabin Strategic Unit 47**.

The statement said a column of around 200 troops led by **Major Zeyar Win**, departing from **Shwe Taung Oo Hill** in Yinmabin Township, advanced on **December 16** via **Sone Chaung Village** and **In Phyar Village**, then split into two groups and moved toward **Pantainpyin Village** and **Kyaukmaw Village**.

Because the column entered and established positions, clashes broke out on **December 17** with joint People’s Defense forces, the statement said.

It added that during the roughly **two-hour battle**, the military received **heavy weapons support** from the **Northwestern Regional Military Command headquarters** and used **disproportionate air support**, forcing the joint resistance forces to withdraw.

Despite the reinforcements, the statement said the military suffered **9 killed** and **16 wounded**, while the resistance side lost **two fighters**.

It said the attack was carried out jointly by a coalition including: **YMB Column**, **ULF (Pa Ka Pha auxiliary) column**, **Kani 9+ column**, **Yinmabin withdrew on **December 19** to the **Northwestern Regional Military Command** based in **Monywa**.

—

### 4) JCC-CDM urges stronger, effective security for CDM civil servants

**m.CDM, December 22**

The **Joint Coordination Committee on CDM (JCC-CDM)** under the **NUCC** issued a statement urging that **more effective security measures** be provided for **CDM civil servants** who are actively serving the revolution.

The statement referenced a case around **1:00 a.m. on December 16** in a revolutionary-controlled area of **Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region**, in which a CDM teacher serving as a township education board official under the **NUG Ministry of Education / Department of Basic Education** was killed.

It said it learned with grief and shock that **CDM teacher Pan Htwar (aka) Daw Aye Thi Aung** and her husband were brutally murdered at their home in **Sal Khai Village**, **Duurinpinshaung village tract**, Palaw Township.

JCC-CDM said the incident exposes how insufficient the **life safety and security conditions** are for CDM civil servants living in revolutionary-controlled areas while delivering public services.

It also noted that the cases of **U Win Htay and family** from Kani (killed **November 4, 2024**) and **U Arindama**, secretary of a township committee for natural resources governance in Kawlin Township (assassinated **January 2, 2025**), remain unresolved to this day.

The statement said the NUCC had already issued recommendations on **September 8, 2025** regarding protection for CDM civil servants, and JCC-CDM again urged: effective security arrangements, preventative measures to avoid similar incidents, and lawful cooperation with relevant organizations to ensure truth-finding and proper case handling.

—

### 5) PRF marks its 4th anniversary with meeting involving NUG leaders

**m.CDM, December 22**

The **People’s Revolution Front (PRF)** announced that it held a commemorative meeting marking its **4th anniversary**, with attendance by NUG leaders and officials.

The meeting took place on **December 19** and was attended by Union-level officials including **Dr. Zaw Wai Soe** (Union Minister, Prime Minister’s Office), **U Yi Mon** (Union Minister, Ministry of Defense), **Deputy Minister Nai Kaung Ywet**, relevant officials from departments under the Ministry of Defense, officials from the **PDF General Staff**, and PRF recruitment and fundraising coordinators.

PRF said leaders delivered congratulatory remarks, and PRF coordinators discussed current conditions and operations.

PRF described itself as an organization that gathers and delivers support—financial and material—for the **PDF** and revolutionary forces during the Spring Revolution, and said channels for participation were provided via **Facebook, Messenger, and Telegram**, with monthly donations also possible via **credit and debit cards**, according to the statement.

—

### 6) Urgent response needed to Myanmar military regime’s renaming effort to evade sanctions

**m.CDM, December 22**

**The Sentry** and **Justice For Myanmar** reported that the Myanmar military regime has been attempting to evade international sanctions and create a false appearance of political legitimacy, and they called for **urgent additions and expansions of sanctions**.

They warned that while the regime continues widespread brutalities against civilians and prepares a sham election, it is also exploiting loopholes in sanctions frameworks to participate in international political and financial systems.

They said that on **July 31, 2025**, the regime dissolved the sanctioned **State Administration Council (SAC)** and renamed it the **State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC)**. However, they said the same senior generals remain in charge and it remains firmly under **Min Aung Hlaing’s** control.

They further reported that within days of the renaming, two U.S.-based lobbying firms—**DCI Group AZ, LLC** and **the McKeon Group**—signed contracts with regime-controlled entities to provide lobbying services aimed at influencing the U.S. government on behalf of the Myanmar military.

The Sentry’s Executive Director **Justyna Gudzowska** was quoted as saying the regime is rebuilding its image and using foreign backers to make its rule appear “normal.”

They warned that sanctions lists need to be updated to treat **SSPC** as an alias of **SAC**, or to designate it as a newly sanctioned entity; otherwise, international actors may inadvertently do business with the regime—or claim ignorance as a defense.

They also stressed that the risk is even more concerning at a time when the regime is preparing a sham election that the **EU has condemned**.

Justice For Myanmar’s **Yadanar Maung** was quoted as saying that as the regime adapts to evade restrictions, sanctions must also be updated and strengthened accordingly.

They urged international governments to:

* Immediately designate **SSPC** under existing Myanmar-related sanctions and under **global Magnitsky-style** sanctions regimes

* Impose coordinated, network-based sanctions targeting those enabling the regime

* Strengthen enforcement and investigate potential violations

* Publicly condemn the regime’s sham election, reject its results, and provide no recognition or support in any form

—

### 7) Bomb explosion near the People’s Party headquarters in Mingala Taungnyunt

**m.CDM, December 22**

Revolutionary forces said a bomb exploded near the **People’s Party headquarters** on **Upper Pansodan Road** in **Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon Region**, around **7:00 p.m. on December 21**.

The explosion occurred between two buildings near a stairway by the headquarters building. While the headquarters building (reported as an eight-story building) was not damaged, a car parked in front was reportedly hit by shrapnel and damaged.

Statements said the attack was carried out jointly by the **SRDF**, **Shwebo District Battalion No. 15**, and **Unknown YGN UG**, using an advanced mine.

They said the attack was intended as punishment for assisting the military regime’s illegal election, which they described as a trap to prolong military dictatorship, and they urged people not to participate and to oppose the planned election.

—

### Regime troops expand control and build strong bunkers down to the foot of Ponnya Taung

**m.CDM, December 22**

A group called **Yaw Alin Tan** reported that regime troops have expanded control down to the foot of **Ponnya Taung**, northeast of **Zinzel Village** in **Htilin Township, Sagaing Region**, beside the **Gangaw–Kyaw** road, where they have built strong bunkers and entrenched themselves.

It said that on the morning of **December 4**, about **50 troops** from **Kyaw KaPaSa (23)** descended from the **Ponnya Taung summit outpost** in two military vehicles.

The report said the troops have remained at the foot of the mountain to this day, establishing a camp, building bunkers, and holding the position.

It said previously the troops had only been able to hold a frontline outpost at the summit, but during December they expanded control down to the foothills.

It also reported that the troops opened a fixed checkpoint on the **Zinzel Village / Gangaw–Yemyetni–Kyaw–Pale** road and are strictly searching travelers.

—

### 9) Galon PDF Natmauk arrests alleged cattle-tax collectors and a junta informant, seizes goods

**m.CDM, December 22**

A unit identified as **Naypyitaw Battalion 903 / Galon PDF Natmauk** announced on **December 22** that it arrested alleged **cattle-tax collectors** in **Natmauk** and **Taungdwingyi** townships, as well as a person from Taungdwingyi Township named **Ko Lin** (described as a vehicle owner) who it called a junta informant, along with his goods.

The group said the arrests were carried out using internal intelligence, and alleged Ko Lin was supporting the regime through collection of entry fees, cattle taxes, and other activities.

The statement said showing pity to junta informants is equivalent to harming the people, and emphasized that actions against informants would continue.

It also urged people not to support business owners who, in its words, are helping prolong the enemy’s rule, and included a warning phrase likening it to “donating 5 kyats but stealing 100,000 kyats’ worth.”

—

The news presented today was provided by **Ko Thit, Lu Lay, and Khar Shell**.

Hello.
