Junta brutally tortures civilians in Pakokku District\u2014amputates limbs and detains them as human shields for one month<\/strong><br>m.CDM, December 5<br>In <strong>Pakokku District, Pauk Township<\/strong> (Magway Region), a junta column detained civilians for <strong>one month<\/strong> as <strong>human shields<\/strong>, during which they were <strong>brutally tortured, including amputations<\/strong>, according to the Magway People\u2019s Defence Team (PaKaFa).<br>On <strong>29 October<\/strong>, a military column from the Pakokku-based <strong>LIB-24<\/strong> entered <strong>Taepin<\/strong> and <strong>Makyi Kone<\/strong> villages in southern Pauk Township and abducted <strong>four civilians<\/strong>.<br>According to reports, the troops:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tortured all four<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tied the hands of three victims behind their backs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put their fingers on a wooden block and <strong>cut off multiple fingers from both hands<\/strong><br>They also cut off one victim\u2019s <strong>ear<\/strong>, claiming he had spoken rudely during interrogation.<br>Additionally, during their month-long advance toward northern Pauk Township, troops repeatedly used other abducted civilians as <strong>human shields<\/strong> and forced them to walk in front of military columns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The four abductees were eventually released on <strong>29 November<\/strong> in <strong>Nga Fong Kan village<\/strong> after soldiers realized they had not yet died from their injuries.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Mandalay marketplace demolished by junta after strike leaders protest; one vendor arrested<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 5<br>A morning market known as <strong>Kaing Tan Market<\/strong> near Zay Cho in <strong>Chan Aye Tharzan Township<\/strong> was demolished by junta forces after <strong>three strike leaders<\/strong> staged an anti-election protest, according to locals.<br>On the morning of <strong>3 December<\/strong>, Dr. Te Za San, Ko Khant Wai Phyo, Ko Nan Lin, and other protestors held an anti-election demonstration there.<br>The protestors distributed pamphlets urging people to oppose the junta\u2019s sham election and to join the nationwide <strong>Silent Strike on December 10<\/strong>.<br>In retaliation, on <strong>December 4<\/strong>, Central Command Chief <strong>Maj-Gen Tin Min Latt<\/strong> ordered the marketplace to be destroyed. Around <strong>300 military and municipal personnel<\/strong> arrived at about <strong>10 p.m.<\/strong> and demolished the stalls.<br>One female vendor was also arrested\u2014accused of raising three fingers (a resistance salute) during the protest.<br>The demolition was led by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Township Administrator U Tun Tun Win<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lt-Col Aye Lynn Htun<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Police Major Myo Naing<br>At least <strong>50 stalls<\/strong> were destroyed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The protest occurred while Min Aung Hlaing was delivering a speech at the Fire Services Training School graduation in Pyin Oo Lwin, during which Mandalay City was under heavy security lockdown.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Child injured after artillery shell hits home in Hpakant Township<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 5<br>Due to ongoing military operations in <strong>Hpakant Township<\/strong>, Kachin State, clashes resumed around <strong>6:30 p.m. on December 4<\/strong> in two locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Near Nyaung Pin Kone village (Aye Myay Thaya tract)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Near Maw Si Sar Taung monastery<br>Clashes lasted nearly <strong>one hour<\/strong>.<br>On <strong>December 5 at around 5 a.m.<\/strong>, fresh fighting erupted near Maw Si Sar old hospital as around <strong>100 troops<\/strong>\u2014from the junta, Shan-Ni armed group, and local PDF units\u2014engaged each other.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">During the fighting, a junta-fired <strong>artillery shell<\/strong> landed inside <strong>Maw Si Sar village<\/strong>, injuring a <strong>12-year-old boy<\/strong>, Maung Phone Myat San, who suffered a leg injury.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Mines used to attack junta column in Pakokku District; two abducted civilians rescued<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 5<br>Resistance forces in the <strong>Kamma region<\/strong> say they launched a mine attack on junta Light Infantry Division 99&#8217;s columns advancing from <strong>Meiktila<\/strong> into Pakokku District, rescuing <strong>two abducted civilians<\/strong>.<br>The attacked troops were from LID 99\u2019s rapid-assault battalions\u2014<strong>LIB 417, 418, and 419<\/strong>.<br>Resistance forces report conducting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mine attacks inside Pakokku Township<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Four additional attacks near the border of <strong>Mying Township<\/strong><br>Near <strong>Nyaung Jit Pin Pyu camp<\/strong>, a junta vehicle was struck by a mine as Kamma joint forces and Mying PaKaFa attacked.<br>During this skirmish, they rescued <strong>two civilians<\/strong> abducted earlier from <strong>Ward No.3<\/strong> in Kamma town.<br>On <strong>December 4<\/strong>, another mine attack near <strong>Kan Taw village<\/strong> killed one junta soldier.<br>The operations were carried out jointly by:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Magway PDF<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mying PaKaFa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pauk PaKaFa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local joint forces<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pakokku District Local Battalion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">* Pakokku District strike columns<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Taungoo military airport attacked with FPV drones by Waraziin Force<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 5<br>The heavily fortified <strong>Taungoo Air Force Base (Ketumati Airport)<\/strong> in Bago Region was attacked using <strong>FPV kamikaze drones<\/strong> by the <strong>Waraziin Force<\/strong>, according to their statement.<br>At <strong>8:15 a.m. on December 4<\/strong>, they launched <strong>Operation Thunderbolt<\/strong>, deploying <strong>four advanced FPV suicide drones<\/strong>.<br>Two drones successfully struck:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The junta\u2019s <strong>air-defense observation tower<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Areas where <strong>jamming equipment<\/strong> was installed<br>The remaining two drones missed their targets due to weather conditions.<br>During the attack:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multiple junta jamming systems <strong>caught fire and burned out<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The junta retaliated with a <strong>Mi-35 attack helicopter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waraziin and the Northern Than Taung PDF cooperated in the strike. No resistance casualties were reported.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Body of KIO police officer found shot dead in Hpakant<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 5<br>The body of a <strong>KIO (Kachin Independence Organization) police officer<\/strong> was found shot dead in <strong>Yuma village<\/strong>, Hpakant Township.<br>Late on <strong>December 4<\/strong>, near the Shwe Kyaung Aung Bang shop between <strong>Machang Kahtawng<\/strong> and Yuma villages, a man was found shot to death.<br>KIO\/KIA forces inspected the body the next morning and identified him as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Aung Thar Phyo (aka Aung Dan)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From Se Mhu village<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A member of the <strong>KIO police force<\/strong><br>He was killed by a <strong>small-caliber shot<\/strong>, with a bullet wound to the right side of his neck.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The location is a conflict-prone area along the Hpakant\u2013Se Mhu road, where clashes between the junta and KIA\/KPDF frequently occur.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7. Nearly 250 workers arrested as junta raids BGF\/DKBA-protected scam compounds in Myawaddy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 5<br>Junta forces raided online scam and gambling sites in <strong>Myawaddy<\/strong>, Karen State, which are protected by the <strong>BGF (Karen Border Guard Force)<\/strong> and <strong>DKBA<\/strong>, destroying buildings and making mass arrests.<br>Targets included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A scam site in Ward 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201c669 Gate,\u201d \u201cSand Pile Gate,\u201d \u201cZero Gate,\u201d \u201cOne Gate,\u201d and \u201cUK Gate\u201d compounds<br>A total of <strong>248 people<\/strong> were arrested:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>25 Chinese nationals<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>223 Myanmar nationals<\/strong><br>Seized items:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>82 computers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>92 mobile phones<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Various equipment<br>Eight buildings were searched (five with three floors, three single-story). One three-story building was blown up to prevent reuse.<br>Around <strong>250 workers<\/strong> reportedly fled during the raid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before the operation, BGF commander <strong>Bo Tin Win<\/strong> allegedly helped move Chinese bosses from the scam centers to a new BGF base in <strong>Thit Kha Te village<\/strong> for protection.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>8. Artillery shells from Myawaddy clashes land in Thailand\u2014two Thai civilians injured; Thai military fires four warning smoke rounds<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 5<br>At <strong>11:40 a.m. on December 5<\/strong>, heavy fighting between junta troops and the <strong>KNLA<\/strong> near <strong>Min Let Pan village<\/strong> (Myawaddy Township) caused artillery shells fired from the Myanmar side to land inside <strong>Thailand<\/strong>, according to Thai media.<br>As a result:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least <strong>two Thai civilians<\/strong> were injured, including an elderly man in serious condition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Several houses and vehicles were damaged<br>The Thai military responded by firing <strong>four smoke rounds<\/strong> across the border as a warning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fighting remains intense near Min Let Pan.
