{"id":8412,"date":"2025-12-05T19:14:48","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T12:44:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/moemaka.net\/eng\/?p=8412"},"modified":"2025-12-05T19:14:48","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T12:44:48","slug":"december-5-2025-m-cdm-local-news-domestic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/moemaka.net\/eng\/2025\/12\/december-5-2025-m-cdm-local-news-domestic\/","title":{"rendered":"December 5, 2025 (m.CDM Local News \u2014 Domestic)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hospital in Kyaukkyi Township bombed by junta; 5 killed including 1 CDM doctor<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Nyaung Pin Thar village<\/em>, Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, the junta forces bombed a hospital, killing <em>five people<\/em>, including <em>one CDM doctor<\/em>, according to local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around <em>noon on December 3<\/em>, two <em>gyrocopters<\/em> from the <em>Taungoo air base<\/em> flew in and bombed both the village and the hospital compound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the airstrike:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CDM doctor <em>Dr. San Lwin<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One health worker from the clinic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One patient receiving treatment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>were killed, and <em>five people were injured<\/em>. An ambulance was also destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, artillery shells fired from <em>Light Infantry Battalion 73<\/em>, based in <em>Thantapin<\/em>, hit the village, killing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>U Toe Gyi<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>U Thurein Soe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>and injuring one other person, while one house was destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The village that was bombed lies on the border area between <em>Karen State and Bago Region<\/em>, in territory controlled by <em>KNU Brigade 3<\/em>. In recent years, it has been an area of frequent clashes between KNLA\/PDF joint forces and junta troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The injured were transferred to Taungoo Hospital, where those in critical condition required surgery, and some have suffered permanent physical injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Two resistance fighters killed in junta airstrike in Budalin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Near <em>Sinkyone village monastery in the forest<\/em> in Budalin Township, Sagaing Region, junta forces carried out an airstrike that killed <em>two resistance fighters<\/em>, according to the Budalin Township Humanitarian Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around <em>1 a.m. on December 4<\/em>, a <em>jet fighter<\/em> from the <em>Tada-U air base<\/em>, together with two <em>paramotors<\/em> from the Namakhwe (Namkha) headquarters in Monywa, dropped about <em>four bombs<\/em> on the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the attack:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Two local defense force fighters<\/em> were killed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Three others<\/em> were injured<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement adds that around <em>12:30 p.m.<\/em> the same day, two gyrocopters carried out a <em>second bombing<\/em> near the same forest monastery, though no casualties were reported in that strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Senior junta NCO who extorted money from farmers captured alive; 6 soldiers killed in ambush, ammunition seized<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Yedashe Township<\/em>, Bago Region, on the western bank of the <em>Sittaung River<\/em>, resistance forces captured alive a <em>senior non-commissioned officer<\/em> (NCO) who had been extorting money from farmers on behalf of the junta. Later, they ambushed a junta column, killing six soldiers and seizing ammunition, according to <em>Battalion 3504<\/em>, based in Yedashe Township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <em>November 25 at around 11 a.m.<\/em>, they captured <em>Warrant Officer Myint Lwin<\/em> from Security Unit 2 under the Southern Regional Military Command. He had been collecting extortion money from farmers who were cultivating land that the junta had confiscated and designated as \u201cmilitary-owned\u201d land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resistance fighters from Battalion 3504 stopped him near <em>Takhwe Kye village<\/em>, arresting him together with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3 hand grenades<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ID card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1,200 kyat in cash<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 mobile phones<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One 12-foot Canter truck<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Battalion 3504 stated that the captured warrant officer Myint Lwin is being detained in accordance with the <em>Revolutionary Military Code of Justice<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of his capture, the junta sent a column on <em>November 26<\/em> from <em>Doe Tan village<\/em>: about <em>40 troops<\/em> and three vehicles from <em>Infantry Battalion 604<\/em>, with roughly <em>80 troops<\/em> total, advancing toward <em>Kwan Ohn<\/em> and <em>Wan Ma Gyi<\/em> villages. Battalion 3504 and the Yedashe People\u2019s Defense Team (PaKaFa) jointly attacked them, resulting in a battle lasting around <em>two hours<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In that battle:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>6 junta soldiers were killed<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>2 were injured<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Seized items included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 ENAGA grenade<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 hand grenades<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 E-Q mount devices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 MA-11 magazine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 helmets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>89 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>according to Battalion 3504.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. NUG Foreign Minister in Japan holds Myanmar briefing at Diet members\u2019 office; urges rejection of junta sham elections<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While in Japan, NUG Foreign Minister <em>Daw Zin Mar Aung<\/em> held a briefing on the situation in Myanmar at an office used by members of the Japanese parliament, according to the <em>NUG Representative Office\u2013Japan<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The briefing, held on <em>December 2<\/em>, was attended by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Japanese MPs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Media representatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Japanese supporters of Myanmar\u2019s democracy movement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Myanmar nationals in Japan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pro-democracy and revolutionary activists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>She explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The junta\u2019s planned <em>sham election<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>real situation<\/em> inside Myanmar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>urgent humanitarian needs<\/em> of the people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>and appealed for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increased emergency assistance for the people in Myanmar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continued protection and support for Myanmar nationals currently in Japan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe handed over the survey results on attitudes toward the election collected from Myanmar people in Japan to the chair of the multi-party parliamentary group that supports Myanmar\u2019s democracy movement, and called on the Japanese government <strong>not to recognize<\/strong> the junta\u2019s sham election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Union Minister also met <em>Mrs. Kamei Akiko<\/em>, a Lower House MP from the <em>Liberal Democratic Party (LDP)<\/em> and Deputy Secretary-General of the party, to brief her on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The current political situation in Myanmar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The urgent humanitarian needs of IDPs and refugees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>She likewise met with <em>Mr. Taniai Masaaki<\/em>, an Upper House member from <em>Komeito<\/em>, to discuss:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The planned sham election by the military regime<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Japan\u2019s official position and approach toward it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>in an open and frank manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. NUCC says it did <em>not<\/em> meet with junta at Indonesia workshop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC)<\/em> has clarified that it did <em>not<\/em> meet or hold talks with the military junta during a workshop held in <em>Indonesia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There had been widespread reports that NUCC and ethnic organizations met junta representatives in Indonesia. NUCC issued this clarification in response, saying it wanted to make its stance and position absolutely clear to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to NUCC, it received an invitation on <em>November 4<\/em> from the <em>Office of Special Envoy on the Myanmar Issue<\/em> in Indonesia to attend a workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before accepting, NUCC carefully inquired about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <em>purpose<\/em> of the workshop<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Which <em>groups and representatives<\/em> would be taking part<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NUCC says it only agreed to send a delegation after it received confirmation that <em>no representatives from the military junta<\/em> would participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop, titled <em>\u201cSharing Indonesia\u2019s Experiences in Nation-Building\u201d<\/em>, was held from <em>November 25 to 30<\/em>. NUCC says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two NUCC representatives attended<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They participated alongside other revolutionary groups\u2019 delegates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At no time and in no setting did they meet with junta representatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>During the workshop, they studied Indonesia\u2019s experience in nation-building, shared their own perspectives and findings, and held discussions with other participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NUCC reiterated that it will continue to stand firmly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For <em>victory of the revolution<\/em>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the basis of its pledged commitments under the <em>Federal Democracy Charter<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And follow the agreed <em>political roadmap<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Karenni resistance groups hold mass gathering to show they stand united with the people<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Karenni (Kayah) State<\/em>, resistance forces organized a public event to demonstrate that they \u201cstand as one with the people,\u201d according to <em>KNDF Battalion 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was held on <em>November 29<\/em> in the western part of <em>Hpruso Township<\/em>. It was attended by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Representatives of <em>KA, KNPDP, KNPLF<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Township officials of the <em>Interim Executive Council (IEC) of Karenni State<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the December 3 statement, the program included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A military-style march<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flag-raising<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oaths of allegiance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paying tribute to fallen martyrs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speeches by representatives from the participating forces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKNDF Chief of Staff <em>Khun Ree Du<\/em> said that the armed struggle must be the <em>last<\/em> such war of this era \u2014 that we must remain loyal to the revolution and faithfully protect the people,\u201d participants reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National flags of multiple Karenni ethnic groups were flown, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kayah<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kayan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kayaw<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bre (Bwe)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geba<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>More than <em>600 civilians<\/em> attended. KNDF Battalion 4 said the main goals of the public meeting were to show that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Resistance forces and local people <em>stand together<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revolutionary forces in Karenni are working toward <em>stronger unity and better coordination<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They also aimed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Build momentum for the next phase of the struggle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure people understand the injustices and oppression they face<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage sustained, high-level popular participation and support for the revolution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On the junta side, the regime has announced it will hold elections in all townships in Karenni State <em>except<\/em> Mese, Hpasawng and Shartaw. Karenni resistance groups have responded that they <em>completely reject<\/em> the junta\u2019s sham election and will <em>not allow it to be held<\/em> in Karenni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Online platform launched to oppose junta\u2019s sham election<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>m.CDM, December 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A border-based resistance group says it has launched an online platform that allows people inside Myanmar and abroad to <em>safely express their opposition<\/em> to the junta\u2019s sham election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The website does <em>not<\/em> record or store any personal user data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anyone, inside or outside Myanmar, can safely click to register that they <em>do not accept<\/em> the election<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each phone or computer can participate <em>only once<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The total number of \u201cNo\u201d votes will be presented to the <em>international community<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They hope to collect <em>hundreds of thousands of protest clicks<\/em> before the election.
