{"id":8396,"date":"2025-12-02T09:13:02","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T02:43:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/moemaka.net\/eng\/?p=8396"},"modified":"2025-12-02T09:13:02","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T02:43:02","slug":"december-2-2025-m-cdm-local-news-domestic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/moemaka.net\/eng\/2025\/12\/december-2-2025-m-cdm-local-news-domestic\/","title":{"rendered":"December 2, 2025 (m.CDM Local News \u2014 Domestic)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CDM Medical Network \u201cshocked\u201d by violent arrest of Dr. Khin Thu Thu Lwin; NUG spokesperson says arrest was carried out \u201caccording to procedure\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In Kale District\u2019s Min Kin Township, Sagaing Region, the <em>CDM Medical Network<\/em> says it is \u201cdeeply shocked\u201d by the violent arrest of <em>Dr. Khin Thu Thu Lwin<\/em>, a CDM hospital superintendent and former township People\u2019s Administration Committee (Pa-Ah-Pha) in-charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was arrested on <em>30 November<\/em> at her clinic in Thintaw village by members of the <em>Township People\u2019s Security Force (Pa-La-Pha)<\/em>. Video of Pa-La-Pha members overpowering and manhandling her during the arrest has been circulating on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Network states that even if there was a need to summon and question her in line with duties, <em>arresting a female CDM doctor without any female personnel present and in a way that violated her bodily integrity<\/em> is unacceptable and contradicts the National Unity Government (NUG)\u2019s own departmental procedures and codes of conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Network also urges that CDM health workers and other educated professionals serving the revolution in various sectors be treated <em>with respect and dignity as comrades<\/em> by revolutionary forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NUG Prime Minister\u2019s Office spokesperson <em>Nay Phone Latt<\/em> told the media that Dr. Khin Thu Thu Lwin was arrested <em>\u201caccording to procedures\u201d<\/em> because of issues related to <em>failing to return a rented weapon and failing to submit tax reports<\/em>, and that since she is a CDM health worker, the NUG is handling the case in coordination with the <em>NUG CDM Success Committee<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, Dr. Khin Thu Thu Lwin served as <em>Min Kin Township Pa-Ah-Pha in-charge<\/em> from 2022 until 17 September 2024. It says she left that post without coming to clear and hand over <em>work records, office property, and financial matters<\/em>, and also failed to return <em>one AK-47 rifle<\/em> that had been rented out to her during her time in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of this, the Min Kin Township Pa-Ah-Pha head and Pa-Ka-Fa (People\u2019s Defense Force) head filed a complaint, and the <em>Township Pa-La-Pha<\/em> team arrested her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry notes that since video of the arrest \u2014 showing no female officer present and the rough handling that took place \u2014 spread on social media and upset the public, they <em>apologize sincerely<\/em> for that aspect, and promise that the case of Dr. Khin Thu Thu Lwin will be handled <em>in accordance with the law<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Khin Thu Thu Lwin is reported to be a doctor who, with support from the <em>Chindwin Medical Humanitarian Network<\/em>, opened a clinic in Thintaw village of Min Kin Township and has been providing medical care to <em>local civilians and resistance fighters<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Fighting erupts in Moe Meik\u2013Mogok area between junta troops and KIA\/PDF; TNLA leader says he has \u201cno words left to apologize\u201d for giving Mogok back<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <em>KIA spokesperson Col. Naw Bu<\/em>, fighting broke out between a <em>junta column<\/em> and <em>joint KIA\u2013PDF forces<\/em> along the road from <em>Mogok (Mandalay Region)<\/em> to <em>Moe Meik (Northern Shan State)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He confirmed that the clash occurred around <em>8 p.m. on 30 November<\/em>, but said details of the ground situation afterward were still unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since <em>Moe Meik<\/em> borders KIA-controlled territory in northern Shan State, Col. Naw Bu told BBC that <em>whenever fighting breaks out<\/em> between allied forces and junta troops in that area, <em>KIA will support and join in<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clash in question occurred between a junta column coming in to take over <em>Moe Meik<\/em> under the ceasefire handover agreement, and <em>KIA Brigade 4<\/em>, after TNLA forces withdrew from the town according to the ceasefire terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Separately, it is reported that on the <em>western outskirts of Mogok<\/em>, clashes also broke out on the evening of <em>30 November<\/em> between junta forces and PDFs, though details cannot yet be confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For now, with <em>TNLA\u2019s cooperation<\/em>, junta troops have <em>easily entered Mogok town itself and deployed in positions there<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the fact that Mogok had to be returned to the junta under a ceasefire agreement brokered with Chinese involvement, <em>TNLA General Secretary Gen. Tar Bhone Kyaw<\/em> wrote on social media on <em>1 December<\/em> that he <em>\u201cno longer has any words left to apologize\u201d<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSnow fruit falls, feet cut and bleeding,<br>A thorn is stuck in my chest, burning tears\u2026<br>Oh Mogok\u2026<br>I no longer have words with which to apologize.<br>The northern wind is so cold\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He wrote those lines as a poem titled <em>\u201cThe Northern Wind is Cold\u201d<\/em>, as his apology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moe Meik and Mogok were originally captured during the <em>\u201c1027 Operation\u201d<\/em> offensive by <em>TNLA and allied forces<\/em>. In late October 2025, TNLA agreed to a ceasefire and to <em>hand these two towns back<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because the towns were returned to the junta <em>without adequate prior explanation to local residents<\/em>, people are strongly criticizing TNLA, and many residents \u2014 fearful of reprisals from the returning junta troops \u2014 have <em>fled and are still in displacement<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Deputy commander of Nay Pyi Taw PDF Battalion 802 tortures and kills a comrade, then has body buried secretly<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a former member of <em>PDF Battalion 802<\/em> under the <em>Nay Pyi Taw Federal Military Command<\/em>, Battalion 802\u2019s deputy commander, <em>\u201cSayar Gyaung\u201d (aka Naing Lin)<\/em>, and company commander <em>Ukkar<\/em> tortured a fighter named <em>Lwan Moe<\/em> to death in <em>April<\/em>, then had his body secretly buried. This was reported by <em>KVP News<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lwan Moe had been brought in for disciplinary interrogation over an <em>allegation of sexual assault<\/em>, during which:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>His head was forced into a <em>water drum (six holes)<\/em> and he was beaten,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt water was mixed and he was <em>pinned by the neck with a foot and force-fed<\/em>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He was then kept in the drum again with his body soaked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>He reportedly died on the <em>third day<\/em> from his injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After he died, on orders from deputy commander <em>Sayar Gyaung<\/em>, <em>eight PDF members<\/em> wrapped the body in a sheet and buried it about <em>300 feet south<\/em> of the old camp, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <em>22 November<\/em>, a team consisting of the <em>Karenni State Police (KSP)<\/em>, doctors, village administrators and local resistance groups went to excavate the site and <em>recovered the body<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to PDF members under the Nay Pyi Taw command, <em>Sayar Gyaung (Naing Lin)<\/em> and company commander <em>Ukkar<\/em> have been <em>relieved of their positions, detained<\/em>, and will be transferred to the <em>PDF General Headquarters<\/em> to face investigation and charges related to <em>killing a comrade and concealing a body<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Gyrocopter bombing of Chaung Ma Nar village kills 2 civilians, injures 9; junta ground column also kills 1 elsewhere in Chaung-U Township<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region<\/em>, the junta carried out an air attack on <em>Chaung Ma Nar village<\/em> with <em>two gyrocopters<\/em> around <em>3 p.m. on 30 November<\/em>, without any fighting in the area at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to local sources, two civilians were killed \u2014 including <em>U Khin Maung Win, about 70 years old<\/em> \u2014 and <em>nine others<\/em>, including one monk, were injured. Some of the injured were children and several are in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the same day, the junta also shelled and sent a ground column into <em>Kyikon village<\/em> in Chaung-U Township. They captured a 44-year-old male villager and <em>shot him dead at close range<\/em>, with two shots to the head and one to the chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One house was damaged by artillery and <em>motorbikes, computers and Starlink devices<\/em> were looted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ground column reportedly included <em>Pyusawhti militia members<\/em> from <em>Khin Mon<\/em> and <em>Taupu villages<\/em>, and most residents of Kyikon had been able to flee in advance. The man who was killed was someone who had remained behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the previous night, junta forces also carried out further <em>air attacks with helicopters and gyrocopters<\/em> around Kyikon\u2019s vicinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Heavy junta air attacks around Banmaw kill 3 civilians, injure 30+; 320th Light Infantry Battalion major loses eye to sniper shot and dies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Banmaw (Bhamo) Township, Kachin State<\/em>, since <em>25 November<\/em> the junta has intensified its offensives, repeatedly attacking with <em>aircraft, drones and heavy artillery<\/em>, while <em>KIA and PDF allied forces<\/em> are resisting, according to battlefield reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re launching a heavy offensive from the Bhamo 3-mile area toward <em>Light Infantry Battalion 49<\/em>. Airstrikes are happening continuously,\u201d KIA spokesman <em>Col. Naw Bu<\/em> confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During these battles, on <em>25 November<\/em>, <em>Major Aung Ko Ko<\/em> of <em>Light Infantry Battalion 320<\/em> based in Banmaw (age 28, Defense Services Academy intake 60) was hit by a <em>sniper round from KIA\/PDF forces<\/em>, losing his right eye and later dying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to airstrikes, around <em>11 a.m. on 30 November<\/em>, bombs were dropped near <em>Mineka village and Mo Seik Kyun village<\/em> on gold mining sites along the <em>Ayeyarwady River<\/em>, killing <em>three civilians and gold miners<\/em> and injuring over <em>30<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <em>1 December<\/em>, around 1 p.m., bombs were again dropped near <em>Ye Le village<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Banmaw Scout Team<\/em> reports that KIA has long blocked <em>Starlink internet<\/em> in villages along the opposite bank of the Ayeyarwady \u2014 including <em>Sintkin, Ngekpya Taw, Thaphan Pin, Kyun Kyi, Mineka, Kone Khar<\/em> \u2014 making it very difficult to obtain news from those areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Fake \u201cPDF\/Pa-Ka-Fa\u201d extortion gang busted in Kyunsu Township; ringleader shot dead after resisting capture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Kyunsu Township, Tanintharyi Region<\/em>, an extortion group using the names of <em>PDF and Pa-Ka-Fa<\/em> has been uncovered. The group had allegedly been phoning <em>village administrators and abbots<\/em>, threatening them and extorting money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <em>1 December<\/em>, the <em>Kyunsu Township People\u2019s Defense Force (Pa-Ka-Fa)<\/em> announced they had captured the ringleader, <em>Kyaw Win (aka \u201cWarden\u201d)<\/em>, one of five group members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to his own statement, over the last two-plus years the group had extorted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2.5 million kyat from the <em>Pan Zin village administrator<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.7 million kyat from <em>Mine Tway village<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over 4 million kyat via Wave Pay from <em>Thae Phyu Kyun village<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>30 million kyat from the abbot of Mine Tway monastery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They also falsely used the name of <em>Pho Tet Toe (aka Pho Say Tan)<\/em>, the Pa-Ka-Fa head for Tanintharyi Township, to extort money, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around <em>1:20 a.m. on 30 November<\/em>, while being questioned at the Kyunsu Pa-Ka-Fa office, Kyaw Win slipped one hand free and tried to escape. When he resisted re-arrest, he was <em>shot and killed around 12:30 p.m. on 1 December<\/em> during recapture, according to the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kyunsu Pa-Ka-Fa says Kyaw Win is originally from <em>Pan Zin village<\/em>, and is a half-brother of <em>Tin Soe<\/em>, a former USDP Pyusawhti militia leader. They say they already know the names and addresses of the remaining four members of the extortion ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Junta gate camp attacked by Pa-Ka-Fa in Letpadan Township: 5 junta troops killed, 2 small arms seized<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Letpadan Township, Tharyarwaddy District, Bago Region<\/em>, the junta\u2019s <em>checkpoint camp<\/em> at the <em>Kyauk Twin village junction<\/em> was attacked on the morning of <em>30 November<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The raid was carried out by <em>Shwe Tan Myay Pa-Ka-Fa<\/em> and <em>Letpadan Township Pa-Ka-Fa Special Attack Unit<\/em>, under <em>Operation Area No. 2<\/em> of the People\u2019s Defense Forces. The Operation Area No. 2 Command announced this on <em>1 December<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the attack, <em>five junta soldiers<\/em> were killed on the spot, and <em>two small arms and some ammunition<\/em> were seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement says Pa-Ka-Fa members were able to <em>withdraw successfully without any casualties<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8.
