MDSI Reports that Coordinated Attacks on Military-Owned Defense Factories (KaPaSa 5, 6, 9, 14, 16) by AA and Allied Forces Could Significantly Undermine Junta’s Military Capabilities

October 25
Radio NUG

According to the Myanmar Defence and Security Institute (MDSI), if the Arakan Army (AA) and allied resistance forces successfully carry out systematic attacks on the junta’s key defense production facilities — KaPaSa factories (5, 6, 9, 14, and 16) — the military council’s operational capacity could be severely weakened.

These KaPaSa factories are described as vital arteries in the junta’s weapons production and logistical support network. Damage to any of these sites could cause a critical collapse in the junta’s nationwide combat capabilities, MDSI noted.

KaPaSa (6) factory, located near Nyaung Chay Htauk Village, U Shit Pin Town, in Pantan Township, Bago Region, close to the Rakhine border, is a major plant responsible for producing iron and metal components essential for weapons manufacturing. MDSI stated that if AA and allied forces manage to disrupt this facility, the junta’s weapons production could be crippled, leading to a noticeable reduction in its combat strength.

KaPaSa (5) and KaPaSa (16) factories primarily manufacture ammunition for artillery shells and bombs. KaPaSa (5) is located near the intersection of Pathien-Monywa Road and Kamma Road in Pantan Township, while KaPaSa (16) is situated in Ma Thone Village, along the Rakhine frontier. If these factories are successfully targeted by AA offensives, ammunition production would be halted, creating severe shortages in the junta’s artillery and bomb supplies.

KaPaSa (9), located in Kyauk Phu Village, is a main facility producing small arms ammunition for infantry use. The plant is reportedly situated only about 10 miles from an active AA combat zone. Destruction of this site would disrupt the junta’s small arms supply chain, leading to a significant loss of ground combat capability nationwide.

KaPaSa (14) factory, located near Nat Yay Kan strategic base along the An–Padan road at the Magway border, produces small arms components and PCB circuit boards for aerial bombs. MDSI highlighted that if AA attacks were to damage this factory, the junta’s capacity to produce aerial bombs would be reduced, significantly impairing its airstrike capabilities.

As of October 14, AA offensives had advanced to the Pan Kan Kwe Village and reached the vicinity of the Nat Yay Kan strategic base, positioning them close enough to pose a direct threat to these KaPaSa facilities.

========================

🚩🚩 2. The arrest operation took place under highly risky conditions, as Kyauk Ni Maw Village is located near a junta military gate checkpoint. Local sources indicated that this is the first time such a high-level arrest was successfully executed in this area.

Since the military coup, U Soe Than has been actively involved in junta operations to secure control over land and waterways in Launglon Township.
