MOD Calls on Revolutionary Citizens to Contribute to the \u201cTo Sagaing\u201d Fundraising Initiative<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 24<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Defense (MOD) under the National Unity Government (NUG) has urged revolutionary citizens to strengthen and support the people\u2019s defense forces in Sagaing Region by participating in the \u201cTo Sagaing\u201d fundraising campaign, which aims to minimize casualties and losses among resistance fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the announcement, the \u201cTo Sagaing\u201d fundraising initiative seeks to provide essential protective gear\u2014such as bulletproof helmets, vests, and armor suits\u2014to members of the People\u2019s Defense Forces (PDF) and battalions actively engaging in combat against the terrorist military in Sagaing Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign is scheduled to run from&nbsp;<strong>October 24 to November 28<\/strong>, with a fundraising target of&nbsp;<strong>USD 150,000<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Over 50 PNO Militia Troops Killed in Fierce Battles in Pekhon and Moe Bye Townships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 24<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intense clashes have erupted over several days between revolutionary forces and the joint forces of the junta army and PNO militia in&nbsp;<strong>western Pekhon Township<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Moe Bye Township<\/strong>, located along the border between southern Shan State and Karenni State. According to&nbsp;<em>TGI Support Revolution<\/em>, more than&nbsp;<strong>50 PNO militia members<\/strong>&nbsp;were killed, and several others were captured during these battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A responsible officer from one of the resistance groups confirmed that the casualties among PNO militia occurred during clashes at&nbsp;<strong>Taung Salone<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Myauk Salone villages<\/strong>&nbsp;in Pekhon Township in the&nbsp;<strong>third week of October<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, during the battles in Moe Bye Township, several junta soldiers were captured. Participating revolutionary forces included&nbsp;<strong>KNDF<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>PNDF-KK<\/strong>, and the&nbsp;<strong>Shan South-based 1006, 1007, and 1009 IPDF battalions<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was further learned that in the&nbsp;<strong>October 15 battle at Taung Salone<\/strong>, senior PNO militia officers and a junta column commander were among those killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During an internal meeting at&nbsp;<strong>Moe Bye Kha Ma Ya (Military Operations Command) 422<\/strong>, junta officers reportedly berated field commanders, saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe knew they were there, but they acted recklessly. Orders were to advance along three routes, yet they stubbornly took only one. Locals saw their movements from the start\u2014that\u2019s how they got ambushed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, funerals were held at&nbsp;<strong>Aung Pan 700-bed Hospital<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Kalaw Hospital<\/strong>, and nearby cemeteries for those killed in the clashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. Airstrike on CDF-Kanpetlet Commander\u2019s Wedding Kills and Injures Civilians<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 24<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wedding ceremony of&nbsp;<strong>CDF-Kanpetlet Commander Saline Aung Lin<\/strong>&nbsp;was targeted by an airstrike from the junta\u2019s air force, resulting in the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>four civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;and injuries to&nbsp;<strong>at least 15 others<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack occurred around&nbsp;<strong>9 a.m. on October 24<\/strong>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<strong>Ten-Mile Hill, Ward (2), Kanpetlet Town<\/strong>, where the ceremony was being held. Junta fighter jets dropped&nbsp;<strong>one bomb during the first attack<\/strong>, followed by&nbsp;<strong>two additional bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;in a second wave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the four deceased were&nbsp;<strong>three men and one woman<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>U Khin Maung Yin<\/strong>, the son of&nbsp;<strong>former NLD MP U San Khin<\/strong>, according to&nbsp;<em>Chin News Agency (VOC)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than&nbsp;<strong>15 individuals sustained injuries<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>five in critical condition<\/strong>, and several remain missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The death toll is expected to rise further. Reports indicate that the junta carried out the attack&nbsp;<strong>deliberately<\/strong>, having&nbsp;<strong>verified the wedding invitations<\/strong>&nbsp;in advance to ensure the presence of key resistance figures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Airstrike on Sapyin Village, Yekyi Township, Kills 24 Civilians and Injures Over 20 Others<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 24<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<em>Arakkha Media<\/em>, a junta airstrike on&nbsp;<strong>Sapyin Village<\/strong>, located in&nbsp;<strong>Yekyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region<\/strong>, killed&nbsp;<strong>24 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;and injured&nbsp;<strong>more than 20 others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the morning of&nbsp;<strong>October 23<\/strong>, three junta jet fighters bombed the village, dropping&nbsp;<strong>a total of five bombs<\/strong>\u2014including&nbsp;<strong>two 500-pound bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>three 250-pound bombs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack killed&nbsp;<strong>20 men and 4 women<\/strong>, while&nbsp;<strong>over 20 others<\/strong>&nbsp;sustained injuries, including&nbsp;<strong>17 men and 3 women<\/strong>, according to local reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victims included&nbsp;<strong>children and elderly residents<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>17 houses were destroyed<\/strong>&nbsp;in the bombardment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. Over 10,000 Civilians Displaced Due to Junta Military Operations in Sarlingyi Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the&nbsp;<em>Sagaing People\u2019s Support Network<\/em>, widespread displacement has occurred in&nbsp;<strong>Sarlingyi Township<\/strong>&nbsp;since the morning of&nbsp;<strong>October 18<\/strong>, when junta columns entered the area, forcing thousands of local residents to flee their homes to escape ongoing offensives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of today, junta troops continue conducting aggressive military operations around villages near the&nbsp;<strong>Wan Pong Yanzi Project Zone<\/strong>, resulting in the&nbsp;<strong>displacement of approximately 5,000 additional civilians<\/strong>. This has brought the&nbsp;<strong>total number of internally displaced persons (IDPs)<\/strong>&nbsp;in Sarlingyi Township to&nbsp;<strong>around 10,000<\/strong>, the network reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A representative from the Sagaing People\u2019s Support Network in Sarlingyi Township stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBecause of the previous and current junta offensives, around ten thousand civilians have now been displaced. Emergency food supplies are urgently needed. In our area, many homes have already been burned down, forcing people into long-term displacement. Therefore, there\u2019s also a need for a structured and effective humanitarian support system for these long-term IDPs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report further noted that junta forces have been&nbsp;<strong>firing heavy artillery indiscriminately<\/strong>&nbsp;from their stationed bases and carrying out&nbsp;<strong>airstrikes using paramotors, aircraft, and gyrocopters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Sagaing People\u2019s Support Network<\/em>&nbsp;has called on humanitarian organizations and individuals willing to assist civilians in Sarlingyi Township to reach out directly to the network for coordination and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6. Seventeen Junta Soldiers and Militia Members Surrendered or Were Captured Nationwide in the Second Week of October<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 24<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between&nbsp;<strong>October 8 and October 14, 2025<\/strong>, a total of&nbsp;<strong>17 junta troops and militia members<\/strong>&nbsp;either defected or surrendered and were taken as prisoners of war by the People\u2019s Defense Forces (PDFs), according to a statement released by&nbsp;<em>People\u2019s Goal (Pyithu Pantai)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among them,&nbsp;<strong>13 voluntarily defected<\/strong>\u2014including&nbsp;<strong>10 junta soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>3 members of local militias<\/strong>. Of the 10 junta soldiers,&nbsp;<strong>7 were from Tanintharyi Region<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>1 from Karenni State<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>2 from Sagaing Region<\/strong>. All were&nbsp;<strong>recently conscripted recruits<\/strong>&nbsp;under the junta\u2019s forced military service law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally,&nbsp;<strong>4 others were captured as prisoners of war<\/strong>\u2014including&nbsp;<strong>3 militia members from Karen State<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>1 junta soldier from Kachin State<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>3 local defense personnel from Sagaing Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<em>People\u2019s Goal<\/em>, from&nbsp;<strong>January 2025 to the second week of October 2025<\/strong>, a total of&nbsp;<strong>2,193 junta soldiers and allied militia members<\/strong>&nbsp;have either defected or been captured nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>7. GanGaw Battalion (6) Pays Tribute to the Families of Fallen and Wounded Heroes for the Second Time<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 24<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of&nbsp;<strong>GanGaw District Battalion (6)<\/strong>&nbsp;held a&nbsp;<strong>second tribute ceremony<\/strong>&nbsp;honoring the families of comrades who&nbsp;<strong>sacrificed their lives<\/strong>&nbsp;and those who&nbsp;<strong>donated their limbs or organs<\/strong>&nbsp;in the fight for federal democracy. The event was held on&nbsp;<strong>October 24<\/strong>, according to the official statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the ceremony, the families of fallen heroes and wounded comrades delivered heartfelt speeches, expressing their&nbsp;<strong>continued pride and remembrance<\/strong>&nbsp;for the sacrifices made by their loved ones for the revolution. They also extended words of&nbsp;<strong>blessing and encouragement<\/strong>&nbsp;to those still fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attending revolutionary comrades shared meals and food donations with the families as a gesture of solidarity and gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the ceremony, members of&nbsp;<strong>GanGaw District Battalion (6)<\/strong>&nbsp;visited the&nbsp;<strong>graves of the fallen martyrs<\/strong>, paying homage to their courage and devotion.
