Indian Army Crosses Border into Myanmar\u2019s Naga Self-Administered Zone and Launches Drone Strike in Lahe Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to local media sources, the&nbsp;<strong>Indian Army crossed the India\u2013Myanmar border<\/strong>&nbsp;and conducted a&nbsp;<strong>drone strike<\/strong>&nbsp;on a&nbsp;<strong>camp belonging to the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K\/YA)<\/strong>&nbsp;located within the&nbsp;<strong>Naga Self-Administered Zone in Lahe Township, Sagaing Region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airstrike reportedly took place around&nbsp;<strong>7:00 p.m. on October 20<\/strong>, when the Indian Army violated Myanmar\u2019s territorial sovereignty and dropped&nbsp;<strong>four bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;near&nbsp;<strong>Kammaw Lorry Village<\/strong>, targeting a site associated with the NSCN-K\/YA group led by&nbsp;<strong>Yung Aung<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the bombing,&nbsp;<strong>five civilians were killed<\/strong>\u2014including a&nbsp;<strong>child<\/strong>&nbsp;and a&nbsp;<strong>27-year-old man<\/strong>\u2014and&nbsp;<strong>four others were injured.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN)<\/strong>&nbsp;issued a statement on&nbsp;<strong>October 21<\/strong>, strongly&nbsp;<strong>condemning the Indian Army\u2019s cross-border drone attack<\/strong>&nbsp;on a civilian area, describing it as an \u201cact of cowardice.\u201d The group noted that the attack struck a location previously visited by NSCN officials, not a military base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>NSCN<\/strong>&nbsp;was originally formed to unite all Naga-inhabited areas and establish a&nbsp;<strong>sovereign, self-governing nation<\/strong>. However, due to internal disagreements, the organization split into several factions, including&nbsp;<strong>NSCN-IM<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>NSCN-K<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, on&nbsp;<strong>October 15<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>NSCN-K\/YA<\/strong>&nbsp;faction launched a cross-border attack on an&nbsp;<strong>Assam Rifles military camp<\/strong>&nbsp;located in&nbsp;<strong>Arunachal Pradesh, India<\/strong>, resulting in the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>two Indian soldiers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>India and Myanmar share a&nbsp;<strong>1,021-mile-long border<\/strong>&nbsp;spanning&nbsp;<strong>Kachin State, Chin State, and Sagaing Region.<\/strong>&nbsp;Along this frontier,&nbsp;<strong>Naga and Kuki armed resistance groups<\/strong>\u2014some of which are engaged in insurgency against the Indian government\u2014operate within border areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement issued by the&nbsp;<strong>National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Defense<\/strong>, certain Naga and Kuki armed groups have been&nbsp;<strong>collaborating with the junta\u2019s forces (SAC troops)<\/strong>&nbsp;in operations targeting&nbsp;<strong>People\u2019s Defense Forces (PDFs).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Three Civilians Killed and Seventeen Injured by Junta\u2019s Artillery Fire in Hpa-an Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Union (KNU)<\/strong>&nbsp;reported that&nbsp;<strong>three civilians were killed<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>seventeen others injured<\/strong>&nbsp;when the junta\u2019s forces fired&nbsp;<strong>heavy artillery shells<\/strong>&nbsp;into&nbsp;<strong>Phar Baw Lay Village<\/strong>, located within&nbsp;<strong>Wun Pyin Village Tract, Hpa-an Township<\/strong>, an area under&nbsp;<strong>KNU control in Thaton District, Karen State.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the KNU, around&nbsp;<strong>5:40 p.m. on October 20<\/strong>, the junta troops stationed in&nbsp;<strong>Ka Ma Maung Village<\/strong>&nbsp;fired&nbsp;<strong>three 120mm artillery shells<\/strong>, which exploded inside Phar Baw Lay Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shelling killed&nbsp;<strong>Saw Tu (age 37)<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Naw Aye Mu (age 12)<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Naw Chamee (age 6)<\/strong>, while&nbsp;<strong>seventeen civilians<\/strong>, including several children, sustained serious injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KNU statement condemned the junta\u2019s ongoing attacks against civilians, pointing out that the&nbsp;<strong>military council<\/strong>&nbsp;continues to&nbsp;<strong>indiscriminately bomb and shell<\/strong>&nbsp;areas under the control of&nbsp;<strong>revolutionary forces<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>local defense groups<\/strong>. Heavy Clashes Intensify in Southern Myawaddy as Junta Launches Five-Column Offensive; Mother and Child Killed by Artillery Shell<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a report by the&nbsp;<strong>Burma Human Rights Network (BHRN)<\/strong>, heavy clashes are ongoing in&nbsp;<strong>southern Myawaddy Township, Karen State<\/strong>, where the junta has launched&nbsp;<strong>five simultaneous offensives<\/strong>&nbsp;in an attempt to&nbsp;<strong>recapture lost military bases<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the military operations,&nbsp;<strong>civilians have been fleeing<\/strong>&nbsp;the conflict zone. On&nbsp;<strong>October 22<\/strong>, near&nbsp;<strong>Min Latt Pan Village<\/strong>, an artillery shell fired by junta troops exploded, killing a&nbsp;<strong>32-year-old woman<\/strong>&nbsp;and her&nbsp;<strong>two-year-old daughter<\/strong>&nbsp;instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The junta forces have been advancing along the&nbsp;<strong>Waw Lay Road<\/strong>&nbsp;using&nbsp;<strong>ground troops and aerial support<\/strong>, attacking villages such as&nbsp;<strong>Phalu, Min Latt Pan, Inn Kyin Myine, Pa Hite Law, and Thee Me Wah Khee<\/strong>. Fierce clashes have erupted between the junta troops and&nbsp;<strong>joint columns of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)<\/strong>. Locals expressed grave concern over possible&nbsp;<strong>airstrikes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A military source stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe situation is escalating gradually. We are holding our positions as best as we can. The junta is attacking from multiple directions \u2014 from Yathei Gu, Min Latt Pan, and Inn Kyin Myine sides. The challenge is that our manpower and firepower have not increased, while theirs is constantly replenished. Clashes are happening almost every day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the ongoing battles, thousands of residents from&nbsp;<strong>Lay Kae Kaw, Min Latt Pan, Phalu, Yathei Gu, and Thee Me Wah Khee<\/strong>&nbsp;villages have fled toward&nbsp;<strong>border areas near Thailand<\/strong>&nbsp;along the Moei River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A displaced civilian told BHRN:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhenever the columns arrive, we have to flee again. We\u2019re constantly running. We\u2019re terrified \u2014 especially of the soldiers and airstrikes. Sometimes, we see the planes dropping bombs, and we have to take cover.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents fear they may need to flee again if the junta\u2019s advancing troops approach closer to the existing displacement sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>October 17<\/strong>, in the morning, junta soldiers shot and killed a&nbsp;<strong>young man<\/strong>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<strong>Inn Kyin Myine Monastery<\/strong>, who was the partner of a local sand businesswoman. Later that same day, around&nbsp;<strong>1:00 p.m.<\/strong>, the junta opened fire with machine guns on a&nbsp;<strong>civilian vehicle<\/strong>&nbsp;traveling from&nbsp;<strong>Lay Kae Kaw to Phalu Village<\/strong>, killing the driver and injuring three others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BHRN noted that since the military coup, fighting in&nbsp;<strong>Karen State<\/strong>&nbsp;has intensified significantly, causing a dramatic increase in&nbsp;<strong>internally displaced persons (IDPs)<\/strong>. Humanitarian needs along the border have also become increasingly dire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organization urged the&nbsp;<strong>international community<\/strong>&nbsp;to take stronger action to&nbsp;<strong>protect civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>increase pressure on the Myanmar junta<\/strong>&nbsp;to end its assaults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Airstrike by Military Council Forces on Mainlon Town Injures a Child and a Woman<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement released by the PSLF\/TNLA, a child and a woman were injured when junta forces carried out an airstrike on Mainlon Township, an area under the control of the Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) Brigade\u20131 in northern Shan State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack occurred at around&nbsp;<strong>1:33 a.m. on October 22<\/strong>, when junta jet fighters dropped&nbsp;<strong>two 250-pound bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>Pan San Village<\/strong>&nbsp;in Mainlon Township, despite the fact that&nbsp;<strong>no clashes<\/strong>&nbsp;were taking place in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the explosions,&nbsp;<strong>nine-year-old Maung Swe Sine<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>thirty-five-year-old Ma Thway Han<\/strong>&nbsp;were injured, while&nbsp;<strong>four houses<\/strong>&nbsp;were destroyed, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between&nbsp;<strong>October 1 and 21<\/strong>, there were&nbsp;<strong>34 airstrikes<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>1 drone attack<\/strong>&nbsp;carried out by junta forces on areas under TNLA control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During these airstrikes, a total of&nbsp;<strong>10 children, 16 men, and 21 women were killed<\/strong>, while&nbsp;<strong>2 monks, 24 children, 19 men, and 18 women were injured<\/strong>. Junta Troops Launch Offensive from Hsipaw Toward Namtu Border; Civilians Fleeing Namtu Area<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to an announcement by&nbsp;<strong>SSPP Info<\/strong>, junta forces advancing from&nbsp;<strong>Hsipaw Township toward Namtu Township<\/strong>&nbsp;have reached the&nbsp;<strong>Mote Tay Bridge area<\/strong>, near&nbsp;<strong>Mote Tay Village<\/strong>, which lies along the&nbsp;<strong>Hsipaw\u2013Namtu border<\/strong>&nbsp;in northern Shan State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>5 p.m. on October 21<\/strong>, junta troops advancing toward Namtu clashed briefly with the&nbsp;<strong>Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)<\/strong>&nbsp;near the&nbsp;<strong>Mote Tay Bridge<\/strong>, reports said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the skirmish, junta troops took up positions and now control the area up to the&nbsp;<strong>southern bank of the Namtu Creek<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Mote Tay Bridge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to fears of escalating conflict, many remaining civilians in&nbsp;<strong>Namtu Township<\/strong>&nbsp;have begun fleeing toward&nbsp;<strong>Lashio<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Tangyan Townships<\/strong>&nbsp;to seek refuge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6.
