The Ministry of Health (MOH) of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that the Research Conference 2025<\/strong>, organized by the Department of Research and Development under the NUG Ministry of Health, was successfully held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was conducted under the theme \u201cHealth Sector Amidst Complex and Emergency Situations \u2014 Research and Response in Myanmar\u2019s Crisis Context.\u201d<\/strong> It took place online from September 27 to 29<\/strong>, each day between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (Myanmar Standard Time).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Ministry, the call for research papers and posters<\/strong> to be presented at the conference was open from July 23 to August 23<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening ceremony<\/strong> on September 27<\/strong>, Union Minister Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe<\/strong> and Deputy Minister Prof. Dr. Khin Maung Lwin<\/strong> delivered opening remarks. During the closing ceremony<\/strong> on September 29<\/strong>, Deputy Minister Dr. Shwe Phone<\/strong> gave the closing address, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his address at the opening ceremony, Union Minister Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe<\/strong> highlighted that conducting and documenting health research represents not only scientific effort but also a profound act of resilience that refuses to kneel before injustice and brutality.<\/strong> He emphasized that this is a testament to the enduring strength of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further explained that research work in the present period<\/strong> is not merely for academic purposes, but also crucial for providing solid evidence-based understanding<\/strong> of current realities. Such evidence supports evidence-based decision-making<\/strong>, helps draw lessons from various programs and projects<\/strong>, and enables the effective application of research findings<\/strong> in the planning and implementation of public health services \u2014 making these services more efficient and impactful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 27 papers<\/strong> were presented, and 20 posters<\/strong> were displayed during the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Records show that there were 463 registered participants<\/strong>: 187 on the first day, 175 on the second day,<\/strong> and 150 on the third day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 2. Nighttime Road Restrictions Imposed in Ngathayauk Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 21 Bagan People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF)<\/strong> has announced restrictions on the use of roads within Ngathayauk Township<\/strong>, Nyaung-U District, Mandalay Region, prohibiting travel between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement, issued on October 18<\/strong>, stated that the measure was introduced because military junta troops<\/strong> had launched offensive operations<\/strong> into Ngathayauk Township. As a result, the 21 Bagan PDF has restricted the use of all roads in the township during the nighttime hours from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PDF has urged local residents to refrain from traveling during these hours<\/strong> for their own safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the ongoing military and security situation<\/strong>, the Nyaung-U Township People\u2019s Defense Organization<\/strong> had also earlier \u2014 on October 9<\/strong> \u2014 urged residents and travelers to avoid using the Nyaung-U\u2013Kyaukpadaung road<\/strong> between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 21 Bagan PDF has therefore called on the public to respect and comply<\/strong> with the announcements made by revolutionary forces, warning that any harm resulting from failure to follow these directives will be the responsibility of those who disregard the guidance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
