The People\u2019s Defense Forces (PDFs)<\/strong> have issued a warning urging public vigilance as Military Council troops<\/strong> prepare to launch an offensive<\/strong> toward Khanpat Town<\/strong>, located in Sagaing Region<\/strong>, an area currently under the control of the PDFs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports indicate that columns of Military Council troops advancing from the Kalay Township side<\/strong> have been moving along the Kalay\u2013Tamu Road<\/strong> toward Khanpat Town<\/strong>, and as of October 18<\/strong>, they have taken positions near the Tamu Township section of the Kalay\u2013Tamu highway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At present, travel along the Kalay\u2013Tamu highway<\/strong> has been restricted<\/strong> by the People\u2019s Defense Forces<\/strong>, and some local civilians have fled their homes<\/strong> to escape potential clashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Defense Battalion (4)<\/strong> of Tamu District<\/strong> has urged civilians to strictly follow the safety warnings<\/strong> and guidance issued by the local defense forces in light of the current security situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth noting that Khanpat Town<\/strong> was captured by the People\u2019s Defense Forces and local revolutionary groups<\/strong> on November 7, 2023<\/strong>, and has remained under their control<\/strong> up to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, in August<\/strong>, intense clashes took place near Nan Mun Tar Village<\/strong> along the Kalay\u2013Tamu Asian Highway<\/strong>, when a Military Council column<\/strong> entered the area. The junta forces were ultimately forced to retreat with heavy casualties.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF)<\/strong> in Monywa Township<\/strong>, Sagaing Region, has announced that it ambushed a Military Council convoy<\/strong> that was transporting rations and supplies<\/strong> to junta troops stationed at Shwe Guni Pagoda<\/strong>, located in Kyaukka Village<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revolutionary forces had been conducting surveillance and waiting in ambush<\/strong> along the Monywa\u2013Kyaukka road<\/strong> between October 13 and 15<\/strong>. On October 15, around 7:30 a.m.<\/strong>, they intercepted and attacked<\/strong> a Military Council convoy<\/strong> consisting of two armored trucks<\/strong> carrying rations and approximately 100 soldiers on foot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack took place around 10:30 a.m.<\/strong> on October 15<\/strong>, and traces of heavy bloodstains were later discovered along the road, indicating that the Military Council forces suffered casualties<\/strong>. However, the exact number of deaths and injuries<\/strong> could not be independently confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
