According to military sources, junta troops in Myawaddy Township, Karen State, launched an offensive along the Myawaddy\u2013Waw Lay road<\/strong>, aiming to retake control of the area with the backing of the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the morning of October 15<\/strong>, junta columns with heavy troop strength set up bases near Inn Kyaing Myine Village<\/strong> and advanced toward Min Let Pan Village<\/strong>, resulting in intense clashes between junta troops and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)<\/strong> joint forces in the area between Inn Kyaing Myine and Min Let Pan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The junta has been providing artillery and missile support from its Infantry Battalion (275)<\/strong> based in Myawaddy, while additional columns were reportedly mobilized near a Chinese Kyarpyaint compound<\/strong> in Inn Kyaing Myine. Meanwhile, Kyarpyaint ferry gates<\/strong> along the Thai border have been closed, and security forces are stopping and interrogating travelers along the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the October 16 clashes, shells from the Myanmar side landed and exploded inside Thai territory<\/strong>, damaging several buildings, according to Thai media reports. Although there were no casualties on the Thai side, Thai military units have intensified border patrols and inspections<\/strong> in response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was further reported that junta troops disguised themselves in BGF uniforms and insignia<\/strong> while launching their assault, and BGF units<\/strong> themselves were also operating jointly with the junta forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the ongoing fighting, residents from at least eight villages<\/strong>, including those from Lay Kay Kaw New Town and nearby areas<\/strong>, have fled to take refuge along the Thaung Yin River<\/strong> on the Thai\u2013Myanmar border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At approximately 10:43 a.m. on October 17<\/strong>, junta forces carried out an airstrike<\/strong> on the area near Thitchyo Village school<\/strong> in Ahlataw Township<\/strong>, without any ongoing clashes<\/strong> in the vicinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack killed five civilians<\/strong>, including a seven-year-old child<\/strong>, according to local reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than ten others were injured<\/strong>, and with several in critical condition, the death toll is expected to rise<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 3. Four civilians killed in junta air raids in Natthalin Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Natthalin Township, Bago Region<\/strong>, junta forces under the State Administration Council (SAC)<\/strong> launched air raids<\/strong> on multiple villages, resulting in the deaths of four civilians<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 6:30 p.m. on October 16<\/strong>, junta aircraft dropped bombs on Ma Kyee Pin Village<\/strong> despite no fighting taking place<\/strong> in the area. The attack killed one civilian<\/strong> and injured two others<\/strong>, locals said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, in the afternoon of October 17<\/strong>, junta aircraft again conducted airstrikes<\/strong> near Taung Nyo Dam<\/strong>, targeting nearby villages despite the absence of any clashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bomb explosions damaged Thinn Baw Chit Taing Village monastery<\/strong>, injuring five civilians<\/strong> and killing two others<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, a bomb also struck the Myin Village school<\/strong>, killing one more civilian<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bomb fragments reportedly fell in Htan Taw<\/strong> and Kyat Nyo villages<\/strong> as well, though the extent of damage in those areas has not yet been confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, in Kyauk Phyar Village<\/strong>, Kyaikhto Township<\/strong>, Mon State<\/strong>, a fighter jet<\/strong> dropped four bombs<\/strong> at about 10:40 a.m. on October 17<\/strong>, even though no clashes<\/strong> were occurring. The strike injured one woman<\/strong>, according to local reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 11:50 p.m. on October 16<\/strong>, a drone bomb<\/strong> dropped by junta forces exploded in the Laiza vegetable market area<\/strong>, injuring two Chinese nationals \u2014 a husband and wife \u2014 who were sleeping inside their shop<\/strong>, according to Kachin military sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The explosion occurred near their shop, and the couple sustained injuries from the blast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several nearby shops were also damaged by the explosion<\/strong>, reports said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to an official statement from the PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>, the military junta\u2019s forces<\/strong> carried out an airstrike on Homine Village<\/strong>, located within Namhsan Township<\/strong> in northern Shan State \u2014 territory controlled by PSLF\/TNLA Brigade 9<\/strong> \u2014 killing three civilians: two women and one man<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 8:10 a.m. on October 17<\/strong>, the junta\u2019s air force dropped two 500-pound bombs<\/strong> on Homine Village.
As a result of the airstrike, 15-year-old Loih Sandar Win<\/strong>, 15-year-old Loih Spay Nyunt<\/strong>, and 55-year-old U Kun Nwel<\/strong> were all killed instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, 20-year-old Loih Nilar Kyaw<\/strong> and 40-year-old Daw A Swe<\/strong> sustained injuries, while five houses<\/strong> were destroyed or heavily damaged by the explosions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, the junta\u2019s forces also bombed Namtu Town<\/strong> with two 250-pound bombs<\/strong>, injuring four women<\/strong> and damaging two school buildings<\/strong> as well as several civilian homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 6. Pyu Saw Htee militia abducts and robs a married couple in Kawlin, then rapes and kills the wife<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kawlin Township<\/strong>, Sagaing Region<\/strong>, a married couple from Nyaung Kone Village<\/strong> was abducted and robbed by members of the Pyu Saw Htee militia<\/strong> while they were traveling toward Tanse<\/strong> to participate in a Kathina<\/em> religious ceremony. The militia members then raped and murdered the wife<\/strong>, according to a statement issued by the PDF Battalion No. (3)<\/strong> of Kanbalu District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on October 16<\/strong>, when Pyu Saw Htee members from the San Pan Nan Thar camp<\/strong>, located along the Shwebo\u2013Myitkyina Road<\/strong>, intercepted U Kyaw Myo<\/strong> and Ma Aye Mar Oo<\/strong>, who were en route to the Kathina<\/em> offering ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After abducting the couple, the militia members stole<\/strong> two gold chains, a one-kyattha gold ring, a gold nugget, one pair of earrings, one gold bracelet \u2014 totaling three kyattha<\/strong> of gold \u2014 along with 700,000 kyats in cash<\/strong>, three mobile phones<\/strong>, and one motorcycle<\/strong>.
They then raped and murdered Ma Aye Mar Oo<\/strong>, while her husband managed to escape and report the incident<\/strong>, according to his testimony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, on October 13<\/strong>, Pyu Saw Htee members from the same San Pan Nan Thar camp<\/strong> unlawfully stopped a truck transporting timber<\/strong> traveling from Shwebo<\/strong> toward Tanin<\/strong> and abducted nine young men<\/strong> aboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of these escalating atrocities, PDF Battalion No. (3)<\/strong> of Kanbalu District<\/strong> has issued a warning to civilians to avoid traveling near areas where junta or Pyu Saw Htee militia camps<\/strong> are stationed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 7. Eight escapees recaptured by Zero Guerrilla Force after breakout from Pa Ka Pha detention center in Myingyan District<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearly 30 detainees<\/strong>, some armed, escaped from a Pa Ka Pha (Military Council)<\/strong> detention facility in Myingyan District<\/strong>, Mandalay Region. Of those who escaped, eight individuals<\/strong> have been recaptured<\/strong> by the Zero Guerrilla Force<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 16<\/strong>, approximately 30 detainees<\/strong> escaped the Myingyan District People\u2019s Defense Organization (PDO)<\/strong> detention center after seizing firearms<\/strong>, according to a public notice from the Myingyan People\u2019s Movement Committee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the escapees, seven men and one woman<\/strong> were recaptured on October 17<\/strong> by the Zero Guerrilla Force<\/strong>.
Weapons recovered with them included one AK rifle<\/strong>, one pistol<\/strong>, one carbine<\/strong>, and one long knife<\/strong>, all of which have been returned to the relevant defense unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, junta troops in Myingyan<\/strong> and Nwar Toe Gyi<\/strong> areas are conducting ground assaults, arson attacks<\/strong>, and air and drone bombings<\/strong>, leading to frequent clashes<\/strong> with Revolutionary Forces<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
