Resistance Forces Ambushed Military Column in Letpandan, Killing 15 Junta Soldiers and Seizing Weapons and Ammunition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that a joint military column of the junta forces that had arrived to burn down Tharyar Chaung Village in Letpandan Township, Bago Region, was ambushed by the People\u2019s Defense Forces, resulting in the deaths of 15 junta soldiers and the seizure of several weapons, ammunition, and military equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, at around&nbsp;<strong>10:00 a.m. on October 15<\/strong>, a combined force of approximately&nbsp;<strong>60 personnel<\/strong>\u2014including one military officer and People\u2019s Defense leaders\u2014launched the ambush against a&nbsp;<strong>Commission-led military column<\/strong>&nbsp;of about 66 troops. The attack involved the Letpandan People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF), the local police, and drone units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the engagement,&nbsp;<strong>no fewer than 15 junta troops were killed<\/strong>, while the rest fled in disarray. Chin Joint Forces Storm Hakha Central Police Station, Rescuing 15 Detainees Including 5 Resistance Fighters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joint Chin revolutionary forces stormed and attacked the&nbsp;<strong>Hakha Central Police Station<\/strong>&nbsp;in Chin State, rescuing&nbsp;<strong>15 detainees<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>five resistance fighters<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>3:00 a.m. on October 16<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Chinland Defense Force &#8211; Hakha (CDF-Hakha)<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Chin National Army (CNA)<\/strong>&nbsp;jointly launched a raid on both the&nbsp;<strong>Hakha police station<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>adjacent prison<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the battle,&nbsp;<strong>six junta police officers were killed<\/strong>, about&nbsp;<strong>15 others were injured<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>one resistance fighter<\/strong>&nbsp;was killed in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rescued detainees included&nbsp;<strong>three resistance members from CDF-Hakha<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>two from the Chin National Army (CNA)<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>ten civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;who had been unlawfully detained by the junta, bringing the total number of those freed to&nbsp;<strong>15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the attack, junta troops reinforced their positions and tightened security within Hakha Town, firing heavy weapons indiscriminately toward the outskirts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also noted that in&nbsp;<strong>July 2024<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>CDF-Hakha<\/strong>&nbsp;carried out a similar raid on the same police station, rescuing&nbsp;<strong>62 detainees<\/strong>&nbsp;at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. The clashes occurred in the vicinity of&nbsp;<strong>Parfait Village<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Narlwel Village<\/strong>, located a little over a mile north of the town, according to a statement released by&nbsp;<strong>SSPP Info<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was reported that during the ongoing clashes,&nbsp;<strong>several former junta administrative offices<\/strong>&nbsp;in Hsipaw Town caught fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the ongoing fighting,&nbsp;<strong>details regarding the extent of the damage and casualties remain unconfirmed<\/strong>, while sounds of heavy and light gunfire continued to be heard in the outskirts of Hsipaw throughout the afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Eight Junta Soldiers Injured After Hitting Resistance-Laid Mines in Bilin Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the local news outlet&nbsp;<strong>Lagoon Home<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>eight junta soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;were injured when their patrol unit triggered landmines planted by resistance forces in&nbsp;<strong>Aloo Lay Village<\/strong>, Bilin Township, Mon State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident occurred at around&nbsp;<strong>7:00 a.m. on October 16<\/strong>, when a&nbsp;<strong>military column of around 25 soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;entered Aloo Lay Village from the direction of the double-story factory area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The column was ambushed by&nbsp;<strong>five landmines detonated in sequence<\/strong>, injuring eight junta soldiers\u2014<strong>three of them critically<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resistance fighters who carried out the attack were able to safely retreat from the area without sustaining any casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. Junta Commission Troops Bombed Nyaung Kone (Htet) Village in Mogok Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>&nbsp;announced that junta Commission troops bombed&nbsp;<strong>Nyaung Kone (Htet) Village<\/strong>\u2014a village under the control of&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA Brigade (4)<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Mogok Township, Mandalay Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report, at around&nbsp;<strong>7:30 a.m. on October 16<\/strong>, junta forces dropped&nbsp;<strong>two 250-pound bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;on the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was noted that there was&nbsp;<strong>no ongoing battle<\/strong>&nbsp;at the time of the attack; the junta forces carried out&nbsp;<strong>an unprovoked airstrike<\/strong>, which hit a&nbsp;<strong>privately owned poultry farm<\/strong>, resulting in&nbsp;<strong>property damage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, on&nbsp;<strong>October 14<\/strong>, junta Commission troops also bombed&nbsp;<strong>Oum Swum Village<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Namhsan Township<\/strong>, where&nbsp;<strong>two women were killed<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>four civilians\u2014including a child\u2014were injured<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>eight houses, including a preschool building<\/strong>, were destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6. Three Injured and Two Dead After Explosion of Unexploded Ordnance in Minbya<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<strong>Arakan Princess Media<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>four civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;were injured when an&nbsp;<strong>unexploded artillery shell<\/strong>&nbsp;detonated in&nbsp;<strong>Minbya Town, Rakhine State<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>one later died while receiving medical treatment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident occurred at around&nbsp;<strong>2:30 p.m. on October 15<\/strong>, when&nbsp;<strong>three friends<\/strong>&nbsp;collecting fish came across an&nbsp;<strong>unexploded shell<\/strong>. They brought it home and tried to tamper with it, causing it to&nbsp;<strong>explode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the explosion,&nbsp;<strong>Ko Maung Gyi<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Maung Htun Htun Myint<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Daw Thein Chay<\/strong>&nbsp;(mother of Ko Maung Gyi) were injured, while&nbsp;<strong>Maung Nyi Nyi Zaw<\/strong>&nbsp;sustained&nbsp;<strong>critical injuries<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>died while being transported to the hospital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, at around&nbsp;<strong>10:00 a.m. on October 16<\/strong>, it was reported that&nbsp;<strong>Ko Maung Gyi<\/strong>&nbsp;also&nbsp;<strong>died from his injuries<\/strong>&nbsp;while undergoing medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>7. Junta Troops Burned Down Civilian Homes, Rice Barns, IDP Shelters, and Farm Huts in Ywangan Township; Civilians Arrested<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement by the&nbsp;<strong>Shan Human Rights Foundation<\/strong>, since the&nbsp;<strong>last week of July 2025<\/strong>, around&nbsp;<strong>500 junta troops<\/strong>&nbsp;under&nbsp;<strong>Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 55 based in Kalaw<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>LIB 99 based in Meiktila<\/strong>&nbsp;have conducted a series of&nbsp;<strong>\u201cclearance operations\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;in western&nbsp;<strong>Ywangan Township<\/strong>, near the&nbsp;<strong>Ywangan\u2013Meiktila border<\/strong>, leading to&nbsp;<strong>clashes with People\u2019s Defense Forces (PDF)<\/strong>&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<strong>last week of July to mid-August<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>August 18<\/strong>, junta forces dropped&nbsp;<strong>two bombs on Kyaut Taw Village<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>one bomb on Nyaung Pin Thar Village<\/strong>&nbsp;from aircraft, destroying several civilian homes. From&nbsp;<strong>August 19 to 21<\/strong>, junta troops stationed in&nbsp;<strong>Pyi Nyaung Village, Tharsi Township, Mandalay Region<\/strong>, fired numerous&nbsp;<strong>155mm howitzer shells<\/strong>&nbsp;toward the forested hills where displaced civilians from Kyaut Taw and Nyaung Pin Thar had fled for safety. On&nbsp;<strong>August 21<\/strong>, junta aircraft dropped&nbsp;<strong>three additional bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;on both villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<strong>first week of September<\/strong>, about&nbsp;<strong>100 junta troops<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>soldiers from LIB 55<\/strong>&nbsp;and local militia members under their command, entered the forests near&nbsp;<strong>Min Palaung Village<\/strong>, where displaced villagers had taken refuge after their homes were burned down in&nbsp;<strong>December 2024<\/strong>. The civilians were forced to flee once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>September 13<\/strong>, approximately&nbsp;<strong>120 junta soldiers under LIB 99<\/strong>&nbsp;re-entered&nbsp;<strong>Kyaut Taw Village<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>set fire to farm huts<\/strong>&nbsp;located on the village outskirts. They continued torching properties on&nbsp;<strong>September 14 and 15<\/strong>, burning down&nbsp;<strong>23 more houses<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>90 rice barns<\/strong>, causing an estimated&nbsp;<strong>damage of 150 million kyats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>September 15<\/strong>, the column advanced into the&nbsp;<strong>hills and forests near Kyaut Taw<\/strong>, where they&nbsp;<strong>discovered a cave<\/strong>&nbsp;sheltering displaced civilians.&nbsp;<strong>Six people were arrested<\/strong>&nbsp;and taken away to&nbsp;<strong>Meiktila<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<strong>last week of September<\/strong>, junta troops&nbsp;<strong>destroyed five more temporary huts<\/strong>&nbsp;belonging to displaced&nbsp;<strong>Kyaut Taw villagers<\/strong>&nbsp;living in the forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, junta forces remain&nbsp;<strong>stationed in Kyaut Taw and Nyaung Pin Thar villages<\/strong>, while around&nbsp;<strong>500 displaced civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;continue to&nbsp;<strong>hide in nearby forests<\/strong>, too afraid to return home.
