The group expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved families and the people of Vanhar Village.

CDF-Hakha clarified that Vanhar Village is not a CDF base, but a civilian area with a school for children. The deliberate targeting of civilians by the military council constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law, basic human rights, and laws of armed conflict, amounting to a war crime, the statement emphasized.

Furthermore, the CDF-Hakha pointed out that the junta’s ongoing aerial bombings on civilian areas across Chin State—particularly during the lead-up to its illegal election—serve as undeniable evidence of that election’s illegitimacy. The group urged the public to completely boycott the junta’s sham election and warned that those who choose to participate will face consequences.

CDF-Hakha called on the international community and domestic organizations to exert pressure on the junta to immediately cease attacks on civilians, schools, hospitals, and religious buildings, and to hold accountable all those who planned, permitted, or carried out such crimes.

The statement reaffirmed that CDF-Hakha will continue to stand with the people and fight until the power is restored to the citizens and the military dictatorship is fully abolished.

========================

🚩🚩 2.
