Battalion No. 3 of Thayarwaddy District Shares Defense Methods Against Junta’s Paramotor Bombing Attacks

October 13

Battalion No. 3 of Thayarwaddy District has shared protective measures to defend against bombing attacks carried out by the junta’s Paramotor (motorized paraglider) aircraft.

These precautions were distributed because the junta’s terrorist forces have been targeting civilians in upper Myanmar — including Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, and Magway Regions — using Paramotor aircraft, especially in rural areas where ground-based defenses are limited.

A Paramotor is a type of aircraft combining a paraglider wing with an engine and propeller, allowing it to fly easily and be quickly mastered with minimal training.

From a distance, a Paramotor resembles a regular paraglider. However, it carries a backpack-style engine that enables flight up to 10,800 feet above sea level and at speeds of nearly 60 miles per hour, making it capable of appearing suddenly and striking without warning.

Depending on the size of the glider, a Paramotor can carry up to 240 kilograms of weight — not only small hand bombs but also larger explosives such as mortar shells. The junta has used them to target villages, densely populated civilian areas, and resistance bases.

Civilians are warned to stay alert for the loud engine and propeller sounds typical of these aircraft. Upon hearing such noises, or receiving danger alerts, they should immediately seek shelter in well-built bomb shelters.

Because Paramotors can attack at high speed from unexpected directions, civilians are also urged not to go outside or observe them when these aircraft are spotted nearby.

According to military records, since late 2024, the junta has increasingly relied on Paramotor aircraft to conduct bombing attacks across various parts of Myanmar.

This report was sent by Ko Khant, a correspondent for Radio NUG.

#RadioNUGLocalNews

#SpringRevolution

Myanmar Military News Updates – Oct 13, 2025 Evening 🚩🚩 1.
