NUG, EROs, and Allied Organizations Submit Five Key Demands to ASEAN on Resolving Myanmar\u2019s Crisis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Unity Government (NUG), the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), and Ethnic Revolutionary Organizations (EROs), along with other concerned entities, have collectively issued a statement outlining&nbsp;<strong>five key demands<\/strong>&nbsp;to ASEAN in order to resolve Myanmar\u2019s ongoing crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five demands are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Non-recognition and rejection<\/strong>\u00a0of the military council\u2019s so-called elections, as they are\u00a0<strong>illegitimate<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>contradict ASEAN\u2019s Five-Point Consensus.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Immediate cessation<\/strong>\u00a0of aerial bombings and heavy artillery attacks against civilians, and\u00a0<strong>support for local protection networks.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Facilitation of cross-border humanitarian aid<\/strong>\u00a0to conflict-affected areas in coordination with\u00a0<strong>local organizations.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Immediate release<\/strong>\u00a0of political prisoners, including\u00a0<strong>President U Win Myint<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Diplomatic and political suspension<\/strong>\u00a0of the military council from all ASEAN-related meetings and engagements for its non-compliance with the consensus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The joint statement further emphasized that only a&nbsp;<strong>political and humanitarian framework based on the Myanmar people\u2019s aspirations for peace, justice, democracy, and a federal union<\/strong>&nbsp;can be acceptable. It also acknowledged the leadership and efforts of Malaysia, as the current ASEAN Chair, and its Special Envoy,&nbsp;<strong>Tan Sri Othman Hashim<\/strong>, while urging ASEAN to&nbsp;<strong>stand with the people of Myanmar<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>refuse to recognize the military junta\u2019s legitimacy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under Malaysia\u2019s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship,&nbsp;<strong>Special Envoy Tan Sri Othman Hashim<\/strong>&nbsp;convened&nbsp;<strong>Stakeholder Engagement Meetings (SEMs)<\/strong>&nbsp;on Myanmar\u2019s crisis, which were attended by representatives from&nbsp;<strong>NUG, NUCC, CRPH, EROs, and other relevant organizations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. Honoring the Dreams and Opportunities of Myanmar Girls on the International Day of the Girl<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>October 11 marks the&nbsp;<strong>International Day of the Girl<\/strong>, which was first observed in&nbsp;<strong>2012<\/strong>. On this occasion, the&nbsp;<strong>Ministry of Women, Youth and Children Affairs (MOWYCA)<\/strong>&nbsp;under the&nbsp;<strong>National Unity Government (NUG)<\/strong>&nbsp;issued a message recognizing and celebrating the voices, dreams, and rights of girls around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s observance aims to&nbsp;<strong>amplify the voices of girls<\/strong>, highlight their&nbsp;<strong>dreams, educational opportunities, safety, and dignity<\/strong>, and promote&nbsp;<strong>awareness and empowerment<\/strong>. However, in Myanmar, due to the ongoing military conflict, countless girls&nbsp;<strong>cannot attend school<\/strong>, are&nbsp;<strong>displaced from their homes<\/strong>, or are&nbsp;<strong>struggling to survive amid violence and instability.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite these hardships, the statement notes that many girls continue to&nbsp;<strong>hold onto their dreams, determination, resilience, and hope<\/strong>. It calls upon all to&nbsp;<strong>listen to their voices<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>create more opportunities<\/strong>&nbsp;for their future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>International Day of the Girl<\/strong>&nbsp;serves as a global reminder to promote&nbsp;<strong>equal opportunities for girls<\/strong>&nbsp;and to&nbsp;<strong>address gender inequality<\/strong>. Persons with Disabilities Participate in Women and Child Protection (WCP) Training in Saikphyu Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Saikphyu Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Magway Region<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Ministry of Human Rights<\/strong>&nbsp;under the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that it conducted&nbsp;<strong>Women and Child Protection (WCP)<\/strong>&nbsp;training during&nbsp;<strong>September<\/strong>, which included the participation of&nbsp;<strong>persons with disabilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training covered fundamental topics such as&nbsp;<strong>child rights principles<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>responsibilities of parents and government<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>six major violations against children<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>killing, maiming, sexual exploitation, and child recruitment<\/strong>, as well as&nbsp;<strong>conflict-related sexual violence.<\/strong>&nbsp;Participants engaged in&nbsp;<strong>group discussions and interactive learning sessions<\/strong>&nbsp;to deepen understanding of these issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A participant shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe training has been deeply impactful and educational.
