The National Unity Government (NUG) held the Interim People\u2019s Administrative Implementation Central Committee Meeting No. (36\/2025) on October 9 at 10:00 a.m.<\/strong>, chaired by Union Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than<\/strong>, who delivered the opening address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, committee members reviewed the progress of action plans set out in Meeting No. (35\/2025), discussed remaining tasks to be implemented, and exchanged reports on ongoing administrative activities from the respective ministries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Permanent Secretaries,<\/strong> and departmental officials.<\/strong> It concluded successfully at 12:00 noon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 2. Legal Proceedings Initiated in Norway Against Telenor for Its Involvement with Myanmar\u2019s Military Junta<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Defend Myanmar Democracy<\/strong> organization announced on October 9<\/strong> that it had begun the first phase of legal proceedings against the Norwegian telecommunications giant Telenor<\/strong> in Norway<\/strong>, for its complicity in human rights violations committed by Myanmar\u2019s military junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with the Myanmar Internet Project<\/strong>, Defend Myanmar Democracy is preparing to file a lawsuit against Telenor ASA<\/strong> in Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the military\u2019s coup in February 2021<\/strong>, Telenor reportedly transferred sensitive user data<\/strong> \u2014 including call records, names, addresses, national ID numbers, and location data \u2014 to the junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evidence indicates that the junta used this data to track, arrest, and torture<\/strong> individuals opposing the coup, leading to widespread civilian arrests and at least one confirmed case of death under torture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite protests from civil society groups, Telenor handed over this data and later sold its Myanmar operations in 2022<\/strong>, exiting the country. At the time, Telenor had over 22 million users<\/strong> in Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company\u2019s assets were subsequently acquired by Lebanon-based M1 Group<\/strong> and Shwe Byain Phyu Company<\/strong>, and are now operating as ATOM Myanmar<\/strong>. Reports note that Shwe Byain Phyu<\/strong> maintains links with the military junta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lawsuit highlights that business decisions made by corporations operating in conflict zones<\/strong> like Myanmar can have deadly consequences<\/strong> for civilians, underscoring the need for corporate accountability<\/strong> and stronger government oversight<\/strong> in such contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 3. A Total of 29 Deaths in the Religious Sector Nationwide Caused by the Terrorist Military Regime from January 1 to October 9, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between January 1 and October 9, 2025<\/strong>, a total of 29 individuals<\/strong> from the religious community<\/strong> were killed nationwide as a result of attacks by the terrorist military junta<\/strong>, according to a verified report by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)<\/strong>. The list includes 10 victims under the age of 18<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shan State<\/strong> recorded the highest number of deaths, with 8 victims<\/strong>, followed by Sagaing Region<\/strong>, with 6 deaths<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the total casualties, 18 were killed in airstrikes<\/strong>, making it the leading cause of death, while 7 others were killed by heavy artillery shelling<\/strong>, the second most common cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 2, around 9:00 a.m.<\/strong>, junta forces stationed at the KNU office in Shwebo City<\/strong>, in collaboration with reinforcement units, fired heavy weapons<\/strong> into the compound of Aung Myay Chan Myae Monastery<\/strong>. The shells exploded within the monastery grounds, killing four young novice monks \u2014 Nyani Ka, Uttama, Wimala,<\/strong> and Medha Nanda<\/strong> \u2014 on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the guidance of the Department of Health of Special Region (1)<\/strong>, the Kokang District Traditional Chinese Hospital<\/strong> opened a free medical clinic<\/strong> in Xingwang City<\/strong>, according to The Kokang<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The clinic, located on Xinping Street<\/strong>, was launched on September 3<\/strong>, aiming to support the basic healthcare needs of local residents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All medical consultations, treatments, and medications<\/strong> are provided free of charge<\/strong>, with the goal of ensuring long-term, accessible healthcare services<\/strong> for nearby communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Health of the Special Region<\/strong> and the MNDAA Medical Logistics Department<\/strong> have also conducted mobile free healthcare missions<\/strong> in rural and conflict-affected areas, including villages, IDP camps, and disaster relief centers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative represents a progressive step<\/strong> from temporary mobile services to permanent, community-based healthcare<\/strong>, expanding the basic healthcare network<\/strong> and improving public health access<\/strong> across the region. The opening of this clinic marks a significant public service milestone within Kokang Special Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Sagaing People\u2019s Support Network<\/strong>, medical supplies and essential relief items were distributed to civilians injured during the airstrike on Chaung-U Township<\/strong>, Monywa District, Sagaing Region<\/strong>, carried out by the terrorist military junta on the night of the Thadingyut full moon day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The junta\u2019s air force bombed the area where local residents were holding a candlelight vigil<\/strong>, marking the Thadingyut festival near the Monywa\u2013Chaung-U border. The attack killed 24 civilians and injured more than 40 others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The network extended condolences, wishing eternal peace for the deceased and a speedy recovery for the wounded civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chaung-U Township medical team<\/strong>, under the network\u2019s local coordination, has been providing ongoing treatment to the injured. The network has also distributed medicines, medical supplies, and relief materials worth 22,552,500 kyats<\/strong> to support those affected by the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yaw Defense Force (YDF)<\/strong> held a solemn candlelight memorial ceremony<\/strong> honoring the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives with dignity<\/strong> in the struggle to uproot the military dictatorship that began with the coup on February 1, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The memorial event took place on October 7<\/strong> within a territory administered by the Yaw Defense Force<\/strong>, with attendance from YDF commanders and comrades, allied resistance forces, local civilians, and representatives from civil society organizations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was dedicated to all the brave revolutionary fighters from various ethnic groups<\/strong> who courageously gave their lives in the liberation struggle, symbolically kindling the light of righteousness through candle flames in remembrance of their sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was also noted that YDF Deputy Commander-in-Chief Phyo Wai Soe<\/strong> was killed in action on October 9, 2022<\/strong>, during a close-range battle within enemy territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yaw Defense Force stated that he and other fallen comrades from Yaw and allied regions<\/strong> are formally recognized and honored as revolutionary martyrs<\/strong>, with their names recorded in the annals of the revolution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
