According to local news sources, more than 20 civilians, including children, were killed and over 40 others injured when the terrorist junta conducted an airstrike on civilians celebrating the Thadingyut full moon festival along the border of Monywa<\/strong> and Chaung-U Townships<\/strong> in Sagaing Region<\/strong> on the night of October 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 8 p.m.<\/strong> on October 6<\/strong>, the junta\u2019s aircraft bombed a village located at the Monywa\u2013Chaung-U border where locals were holding a traditional candle-lighting festival for Thadingyut full moon day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the MFP News Agency<\/strong>, citing local sources, two 120mm bombs were dropped directly into the crowd of festivalgoers by paramotor aircraft<\/strong> that took off from the Northwestern Military Command (NaMaKha)<\/strong> based in Monywa, killing and injuring many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locals tried to bury the victims overnight and provide urgent medical care to the wounded, but the junta continued bombing the same area with paramotors and artillery shells fired from Ma U Gate<\/strong> and Kyauksitpon<\/strong> outposts at the entrance of Monywa City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the relentless artillery shelling and repeated airstrikes, it has become extremely difficult to provide medical assistance, and locals fear that the death toll could rise further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photographs from the scene show mutilated bodies\u2014people with severed limbs, open abdominal wounds, and children lying dead from the blast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports indicate that the Northwestern Command<\/strong> in Monywa recently acquired paramotors<\/strong> and gyrocopters<\/strong> last month and has since been using them to carry out large-scale massacres like this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of noon on October 7<\/strong>, local revolutionary forces operating in the area have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Yaw Alin Tan News<\/strong>, resistance joint forces attacked Infantry Battalion 50 (KhaLaYa-50)<\/strong> and the main police station<\/strong> in Gangaw<\/strong>, Magway Region<\/strong>, using short-range rockets, reportedly causing casualties among junta soldiers and police personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 6:10 p.m. on October 6<\/strong>, two rockets struck within the junta\u2019s Infantry Battalion 50 base and three more hit the Gangaw main police station. The explosions caused fatalities and injuries among the soldiers and police, according to local reports cited by Yaw Alin Tan News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities are still investigating to confirm the extent of casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the attack, a planned Thadingyut celebration<\/strong> organized by Battalion 50\u2019s commander, Lt. Col. Hla Myo Htut<\/strong>, at the football ground near the Gangaw District General Administration Office<\/strong>, was reportedly canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In retaliation, the junta fired 120mm artillery shells<\/strong> from the Battalion 50 base toward Zahaw Village<\/strong>, injuring one civilian and killing one ox while wounding two others belonging to local villagers, according to sources cited by Yaw Alin Tan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the junta preparing to hold elections in Gangaw Township, resistance forces warned that nearby villages remain under the threat of arbitrary artillery attacks and urged civilians to stay alert for potential assaults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 3. Over 60 civilians killed in Karenni State in three months by junta\u2019s airstrikes and artillery attacks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG)<\/strong> reported today that at least 63 civilians<\/strong> were killed and more than 114 injured<\/strong> in Karenni State<\/strong> between July and September<\/strong> as a result of the terrorist junta\u2019s airstrikes and heavy artillery bombardments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this three-month period, the junta conducted at least 18 air raids<\/strong> and over 33 artillery attacks<\/strong> on civilian-populated areas across Karenni State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These assaults destroyed nearly 200 civilian homes<\/strong>, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 7<\/strong>, a junta airstrike on Saung Cherry IDP camp<\/strong> in western Hpruso Township<\/strong> killed three members of a single family, including a four-year-old child, and injured five displaced civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, on August 17<\/strong>, the junta dropped bombs on the densely populated 16 Ward area<\/strong> in Mobye Town<\/strong>, Pasaung Township<\/strong>, killing 32 civilians<\/strong>, including children, and injuring five others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Demoso Township<\/strong>, junta forces carried out multiple artillery bombardments throughout August, including one on September 11<\/strong> around 10 p.m.<\/strong>, which killed three civilians and injured three children in eastern Demoso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KnHRG also reported that in addition to these attacks, the junta arrested and abducted more than 100 civilians<\/strong> within the same three-month period across Karenni State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 4. KNDF warns civilians to beware of air threats and avoid unnecessary travel amid ongoing clashes in Demoso, Hpruso, and Loikaw<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF)<\/strong> has issued a warning urging civilians in Demoso<\/strong>, Hpruso<\/strong>, and Loikaw<\/strong> townships not to travel unnecessarily and to remain vigilant against potential airstrikes<\/strong>, as intense clashes continue in those areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement was made in a weekly military report covering battles between junta forces and revolutionary units across Karenni State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report, fighting has been escalating as junta troops have launched new offensives in Demoso, Hpruso, and Loikaw, as well as near Hpekhon<\/strong> at the Karenni\u2013Southern Shan<\/strong> border. Junta-aligned PNO forces<\/strong> have also been active, while troop movements have been reported in Mobye<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In eastern Loikaw<\/strong>, junta forces advanced from Linphongyi<\/strong> village in Loi Lin Lay<\/strong> area on September 28<\/strong>, leading to three consecutive days of clashes with resistance forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Demoso<\/strong>, daily battles have been taking place near Daung Kha Ward<\/strong> and Tananu Kwi Village<\/strong>, with the junta using drones, bombs, and heavy artillery<\/strong> against resistance units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Demoso\u2013Hpruso road<\/strong>, resistance forces destroyed one junta vehicle and killed several soldiers, including an officer, according to KNDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Hpruso<\/strong>, junta troops have been regrouping and advancing from Military Training School No. 14<\/strong> toward Bawlekhe<\/strong>, sparking additional clashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, junta forces, in collaboration with the PNO<\/strong>, have deployed troops near Tawnsalone Village<\/strong> in Hpekhon and shelled nearby villages with artillery. Junta units stationed in Mobye<\/strong> have also launched operations toward Saktaung<\/strong> and Lwel Yin<\/strong> villages, leading to further fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 3<\/strong>, the junta\u2019s Light Infantry Battalion 530<\/strong> stationed in Loi Lin Lay<\/strong> fired artillery that injured two ten-year-old children, according to KNDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, on September 28<\/strong>, a drone strike by junta troops on a village east of Loikaw injured a 50-year-old man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the past week alone, three junta soldiers have defected with their weapons and ammunition to the resistance side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, due to ongoing airstrikes, drone bombings, and heavy artillery attacks, the KNDF<\/strong> urged civilians to avoid traveling to conflict zones unless absolutely necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
