Demonstration in front of the UN Headquarters in support of Myanmar Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun\u2019s continued representation at the United Nations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>September 21<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A public demonstration in support of Myanmar\u2019s Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun\u2019s continued representation at the United Nations was held in front of the UN Headquarters in New York today, as part of the&nbsp;<strong>Global Action for Credential Campaign 2025<\/strong>, according to the organizing group&nbsp;<strong>NYCBC<\/strong>, which issued a statement this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event took place at&nbsp;<strong>Dag Hammarskj\u00f6ld Plaza<\/strong>&nbsp;near the UN Headquarters in New York, under the banner&nbsp;<em>\u201cOur UN Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, The True Voice of Myanmar.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants prayed for the good health of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, NUG Minister for Communications, Information and Technology U Htin Linn Aung, and Deputy Foreign Minister U Moe Zaw Oo delivered speeches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizers explained the goals of the&nbsp;<strong>Global Action for Credential Campaign 2025<\/strong>, while representatives of various organizations and associations presented their positions and views in discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the rally, participants not only voiced support for Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun\u2019s continued representation of the Myanmar people at the UN but also urged the international community to remove the unlawful military terrorist group and help bring an end to military dictatorship in Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The demonstration was attended by thousands of Myanmar diaspora from different ethnic groups across the United States. They marched from the UN Headquarters area through midtown Manhattan, chanting slogans, and continued until near Times Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The demonstration and rally were organized by the NYCBC group, with thousands of Myanmar ethnic diaspora from across the U.S. participating. Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management says more than 200 million kyats were spent in August for IDPs, the homeless, CDM staff, and other sectors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>September 21<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management stated that during August, it spent&nbsp;<strong>over 200 million kyats<\/strong>&nbsp;to support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Internally displaced persons (IDPs),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People who lost their homes,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Casualties and families of the deceased,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Victims of natural disasters,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Political prisoners,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CDM staff, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other general needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This was explained during a presentation on the ministry\u2019s activities and future plans at the&nbsp;<strong>regular coordination meeting of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH)<\/strong>&nbsp;held via videoconference on September 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting opened with remarks by the CRPH Chair and greetings from Secretary Daw Phyu Phyu Thin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management then presented detailed updates, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In five interim federal units currently implementing interim public administration:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>77 townships, 2,777 villages<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over\u00a0<strong>130,000 homes burned<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 76 townships, more than\u00a0<strong>780,000 displaced persons<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the total&nbsp;<strong>213.17 million kyats<\/strong>&nbsp;spent:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over\u00a0<strong>102 million kyats<\/strong>\u00a0for IDP camps,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over\u00a0<strong>51 million kyats<\/strong>\u00a0for deceased and injured victims,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over\u00a0<strong>47 million kyats<\/strong>\u00a0for natural disaster victims,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over\u00a0<strong>5 million kyats<\/strong>\u00a0for CDM staff,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>About\u00a0<strong>750,000 kyats<\/strong>\u00a0for political prisoners,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over\u00a0<strong>5 million kyats<\/strong>\u00a0for general support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Dr. Win Myat Aye said the ministry will continue efforts including training programs, international coordination, and preparations related to the&nbsp;<strong>Anti-Sham\/Scam Election campaign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CRPH members attending the meeting raised questions about ground conditions and gave suggestions, which the Union Minister responded to and clarified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3. MDSI reports that recruitment of People\u2019s Military Conscripts is higher than projected, while only a small number have defected or surrendered<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>September 21<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Myanmar Defense and Security Institute (MDSI) reported that under the People\u2019s Military Service Law, the terrorist junta is recruiting more conscripts than previously projected, while the number of those defecting or surrendering remains very small.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, in recent weeks in Mandalay Region, the personal registration number of conscript trainee&nbsp;<strong>Khine Maung Win<\/strong>&nbsp;from Batch 12 was&nbsp;<strong>158,280<\/strong>, while in early July, Batch 12 conscripts had registration numbers only in the&nbsp;<strong>60,000 range<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the junta has already trained up to Batch 14 and opened courses up to Batch 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MDSI added that some conscripts are being reassigned as permanent soldiers and sent to basic military training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the junta is forcibly conscripting around&nbsp;<strong>5,000 young people per month<\/strong>, training them and deploying them to the frontlines, the number of defectors or those contacting revolutionary forces remains only a small percentage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MDSI assessed that fear of junta propaganda and threats, lack of knowledge on how to connect with revolutionary forces, and difficulty in making contact or accessing information are major obstacles preventing conscripts from defecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because the junta is using every possible method to meet and exceed monthly conscription quotas,&nbsp;<strong>illegal recruitment drives, arbitrary arrests, and human trafficking of youth<\/strong>&nbsp;are widespread across the country, MDSI warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This report was filed by&nbsp;<strong>Radio NUG correspondent Ko Khant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hashtag\/radionuglocalnews?__eep__=6&amp;__cft__%5B0%5D=AZXC56b4SnmibXNwJBzHCpq8y1U-u7KouqRmNFf3MwS8oVmKbXS8ptYTzgSzE_60aneWA9F1VTnvs1bt3_AgLqvWMTVR5EcgzAyUyNvpoVOL9yBRLNejdwWvKtoY8ZjvpRds2ENm6SLWO6Tt6Q2egk3R&amp;__tn__=*NK-R\">#RadioNUGLocalNews<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>#SpringRevolution<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Myanmar Domestic News Updates \u2013 Sep 21, 2025 Evening \ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;1.
