Kin Eric warns that unity is needed to build a peaceful democratic future

September 20

Kin Eric, the youngest son of People’s Leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, cautioned today, September 20, that unity is essential to building a peaceful democratic future in Myanmar.

He made this statement in Boston while recalling his father, Dr. Michael Aris. Dr. Michael Aris taught at Harvard University in the early 1990s and throughout his life supported and stood behind Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s democratic struggle. Kin Eric emphasized that he has now inherited his father’s responsibility.

He recalled his mother’s words:
“Fear is the root cause of disintegration. Fear leads to hatred, and hatred leads to disintegration.”

He noted that the current military dictators continue to use fear and division to maintain their grip on power, but this cannot build Myanmar’s future.

He stressed:

“Our greatest strength lies in the unity of diverse generations—across religions and ethnicities—working together. Only through this collective unity can we end dictatorship and achieve peace and democracy.”

Kin Eric highlighted that countless people, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi herself, have sacrificed their lives, blood, sweat, and existence for the cause of a peaceful democratic future. Therefore, unity is not just important but the most powerful weapon for success.

Earlier this month, he had already expressed serious concern for his mother’s health and safety. Following that, he met with General Tun Myat Naing, Commander-in-Chief of the Arakan Army (AA), and Acting President Duwa Lashi La of the NUG, where they discussed Myanmar’s current political situation.

========================

📌📌 4. Nine endangered Red Pandas rescued by Indaw PDF from illegal trafficking

September 20

According to local news sources, at a revolutionary forces’ checkpoint in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, nine endangered Red Pandas being illegally transported from Kachin State were discovered.

The Indaw People’s Defense Force (PDF) intercepted the traffickers on September 19 while they were passing through Indaw. The rescue has been confirmed by the Indaw Revolution (IR Team).

The Red Pandas were being transported in cages inside a vehicle. Two traffickers were arrested. According to statements from the drivers, the animals were being transported on behalf of business owners. This was also reported by Kachinwae News Agency, citing local sources.

The rescued Red Pandas have since been handed over to the relevant authorities for relocation to their natural habitat.

Officials from the Native Species Conservation and Identification (NSCI) group explained that Red Pandas are highly vulnerable to stress and death during transportation, and they are best transported in large, climate-controlled vehicles.

The species’ natural habitat in Myanmar is mainly in northern Kachin State, particularly the Hkakabo Razi National Park, Phonkan Razi Reserved Forest, Mount Majel, and Imobon regions, near the borders with China and India.

Due to hunting, killing, and trafficking, their population has become endangered, but conservationists state that if humans refrain from capturing them, they can reproduce naturally and increase in number.

The Kachin Alliance declared on September 16 that the Red Panda species is now facing the threat of extinction.

This report was submitted by Radio NUG correspondents Tharki and Ko Khant.

#RadioNUGLocalNews

#SpringRevolution

Myanmar Domestic News Updates – Sep 20, 2025 Evening 📌📌 1.
