Revolutionary forces in Myanmar preparing nationwide coordinated offensives

September 7
Radio NUG

According to the 4th Anniversary Report of the People’s Resistance War, released on September 7, the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) stated that preparations are underway to launch coordinated military operations across the country in order to bring about a major turning point in the revolution.

The report explained that the People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) have been established and deployed nationwide, while allied ethnic revolutionary organizations continue to engage in active combat. Together, these efforts are creating favorable conditions for a decisive shift.

Preparations include organizing and training military units, raising funds, and stockpiling ammunition and explosives. In particular, priority has been given to strengthening military structures. While in the early stages of the revolution, PDFs were formed with limited time and resources, they are now being reinforced through systematic training, organization, hierarchical command structures, and delegated responsibilities, alongside financial and arms procurement efforts.

The report emphasized that the people regard the junta as the “enemy of the nation”, pointing out that its military leaders are not true patriots but merely power-hungry tyrants who would rather see the country enslaved by foreigners than lose their control. During the Spring Revolution, the people took up arms under the belief that “death is better than being a slave to the military,” fighting to end military dictatorship.

At present, ethnic revolutionary forces in northern Myanmar are facing pressure from neighboring countries, which has forced them to reduce offensives. The junta has attempted to exploit this by launching counter-offensives in certain areas. Nevertheless, revolutionary forces have been effectively countering with guerilla warfare, mobile tactics, and strategic repositioning, according to the statement.

The report further noted that the sham election planned by the junta later this year is nothing more than an attempt to legitimize its unlawful seizure of power. However, such moves will only strengthen revolutionary unity and intensify the People’s Resistance War.

The Ministry of Defense stated that while the path to democratic transformation will inevitably involve great challenges, these can be overcome through wisdom, determination, and courage. It stressed the importance of strengthening unity and leadership among revolutionary forces, and maintaining a clear and decisive revolutionary roadmap with the aim of completely dismantling military dictatorship.

The NUG and the PDF reaffirmed their determination to continue working hand in hand with revolutionary forces to push forward toward the goals of the revolution as the People’s Resistance War reaches its fourth anniversary.

========================

📌📌 2. They pointed out that the commission’s silence on extrajudicial killings and arbitrary arrests by the junta undermines press freedom and fuels a culture of impunity.

MNHRC has already lost recognition from the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) in December 2024, was expelled from the Asia Pacific Forum in May 2025, and in June 2025, the International Labour Organization (ILO) imposed sanctions on Myanmar over the junta’s labor rights violations.

“The media community in Myanmar and abroad is facing violence, imprisonment, harassment, and intimidation.
