Myanmar Army Brutally Murders Two IDPs in Kantbalu and Burns Refugee Shelters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Kyunhla-Kantbalu Activist Group<\/strong>&nbsp;reported today (September 1) that junta troops in&nbsp;<strong>Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region<\/strong>, brutally murdered two internally displaced persons (a husband and wife) and set fire to refugee shelters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, at&nbsp;<strong>8:30 AM on August 31<\/strong>, soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militias from the&nbsp;<strong>Kyat Thin base camp<\/strong>&nbsp;launched an operation toward&nbsp;<strong>Ponna Gyi village<\/strong>, during which they carried out a drone attack, dropping four bombs on&nbsp;<strong>U Kin Kyi and Nyo Kone villages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The column of about&nbsp;<strong>100 soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;then encountered 45-year-old&nbsp;<strong>U Zaw Myo Hlaing<\/strong>&nbsp;and his 44-year-old wife&nbsp;<strong>Daw Ma Ma Thin<\/strong>, who had fled from Ponna Gyi due to earlier raids. The couple was&nbsp;<strong>shot and killed on the spot<\/strong>, and four makeshift IDP shelters were torched and destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the column reached the eastern side of Ponna Gyi village around&nbsp;<strong>10:00 AM<\/strong>, they were ambushed by members of&nbsp;<strong>Kantbalu District Battalion 2<\/strong>&nbsp;together with local defense forces. At least&nbsp;<strong>seven junta soldiers were seriously wounded<\/strong>&nbsp;in the clash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports indicate that five of the injured were carried away on ox-carts, while the remaining two were evacuated on stretchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firefight lasted about&nbsp;<strong>one and a half hours<\/strong>. Facing heavy resistance and casualties, the junta troops retreated back to&nbsp;<strong>Kyat Thin base camp<\/strong>&nbsp;at around&nbsp;<strong>11:30 AM<\/strong>, according to the Kyunhla-Kantbalu Activist Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. ABSDF Holds Handover Ceremony for Funds Raised at the 27th Nagoya Thingyan Festival, Along with Discussion on Current Political Situation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>All Burma Students\u2019 Democratic Front (ABSDF)<\/strong>&nbsp;announced that it held an&nbsp;<strong>online ceremony on August 31<\/strong>&nbsp;to hand over donations raised during the&nbsp;<strong>27th Nagoya Thingyan Festival<\/strong>&nbsp;and to engage in an exchange of views on Myanmar\u2019s current political situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was opened with speeches from&nbsp;<strong>Sayadaw Ashin Thawara<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>ABSDF Chairperson Comrade Than Khae<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Vice-Chairperson Comrade Lae Sein<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>General Secretary Comrade San Ni<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Ko Aung Aye Win<\/strong>, a member of the Nagoya Thingyan Organizing Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in attendance were members of the&nbsp;<strong>Nagoya Thingyan Festival Committee<\/strong>, ABSDF&nbsp;<strong>Central Executive Committee members<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Central Committee members<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>military commanders<\/strong>, and other responsible personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the discussions, participants openly shared perspectives on ABSDF\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>political and military activities<\/strong>, as well as the current battlefield situation in Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABSDF expressed its appreciation to the&nbsp;<strong>Nagoya Thingyan Festival Committee<\/strong>&nbsp;and revolutionary brothers and sisters for their continued support, which enables ABSDF to implement its future programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. MSRF Reports Over 229 Junta Soldiers Killed and at Least 57 Injured in First Eight Months of 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF)<\/strong>&nbsp;announced that in the first&nbsp;<strong>eight months of 2024<\/strong>, they successfully killed&nbsp;<strong>no fewer than 229 junta soldiers<\/strong>&nbsp;and injured at least&nbsp;<strong>57 others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This information was included in MSRF\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>third-year operational report<\/strong>, released on September 1, marking the&nbsp;<strong>third anniversary of MSRF\u2019s armed struggle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report, between&nbsp;<strong>January and August 2024<\/strong>, MSRF operations confirmed at least 229 junta fatalities and 57 injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past three years, MSRF has expanded operations across&nbsp;<strong>Mudon, Thanbyuzayat, and Ye townships of Mon State<\/strong>, as well as&nbsp;<strong>Yebyu, Kaleinaung, and Thayetchaung townships in Tanintharyi Region<\/strong>, working in coordination with allied revolutionary forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since&nbsp;<strong>March 2024<\/strong>, MSRF has also established control over parts of&nbsp;<strong>Union Highway 8<\/strong>, particularly the stretch from&nbsp;<strong>Thanbyuzayat\u2013Ye\u2013Dawei<\/strong>, tightening strategic pressure on the junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report noted that on&nbsp;<strong>December 15, 2023<\/strong>, MSRF accepted the&nbsp;<strong>political leadership of the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC)<\/strong>&nbsp;and has since expanded military activities under its Defense Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 14, 2023<\/strong>, MSRF formally entered into battlefield cooperation with&nbsp;<strong>People\u2019s Defense Force \u2013 Operation Command 1<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Strategy 33<\/strong>, eventually consolidating into the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cBrotherhood Joint Force\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>August 27, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brotherhood Force declared its commitment to fight until the&nbsp;<strong>fall of the military dictatorship and any form of authoritarian rule<\/strong>, vowing to continue until the establishment of a&nbsp;<strong>genuine Federal Democratic Union<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Revolutionary Fighter Killed During Attack on Military Column from Pakokku (101)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A revolutionary fighter has fallen during an attack on a military column advancing from&nbsp;<strong>Pakokku (101)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the&nbsp;<strong>14th Battalion, Pakokku District<\/strong>, revolutionary fighter&nbsp;<strong>Comrade Flash<\/strong>&nbsp;sacrificed his life for the country and its people on&nbsp;<strong>August 25 at 3:20 PM<\/strong>, after engaging in more than&nbsp;<strong>three months of fighting<\/strong>&nbsp;against a junta column deployed from Pakokku (101).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report noted that the junta\u2019s military columns, including those under the so-called \u201cmilitary commission,\u201d have been conducting operations in various towns in an attempt to&nbsp;<strong>reassert territorial control for their sham election plans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5.
