Interim Local Administration Central Committee and Magway Region People\u2019s Administration Groups Convene Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Unity Government\u2019s Interim Local Administration Central Committee and People\u2019s Administration Groups from Magway Region held their coordination meeting (17\/2025) on August 27, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, township-level agenda submissions were discussed, and relevant ministries provided responses and further deliberations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Associate Ministers, departmental officials, and township-level People\u2019s Administration Group members from Magway Region. The session concluded at 3:30 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. NUG Representative in Norway Attends Asia Festival in Lillestr\u00f8m, Norway<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 23, 2025, in Lillestr\u00f8m, Norway, the Norway\u2013Asia Cultural Association hosted the Asia Festival with participation from Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival featured traditional cultural performances, fashion talent shows, and food stalls from each country. Distinguished guests included the Mayor of Lillestr\u00f8m, Mr. Kjartan Berland; Minister of Labour H.E. Tonje Brenna; Thai Ambassador to Norway Nitivadee Manitkul; South Korean Ambassador Seo Min-jeong; and Japanese Ambassador Akira Sugiyama. The National Unity Government was represented by its Norway-based delegate, U Maung Maung Myint, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the NUG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the CRPH Support Group, Norway\u2014an affiliate of the Norway\u2013Asia Cultural Association\u2014led the Myanmar cultural delegation. They showcased traditional dances, cultural attire in a runway-style presentation, and sold Myanmar food to raise funds in support of Myanmar\u2019s war-displaced civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daw Wut Mhone Win, General Secretary of the CRPH Support Group, Norway, introduced the Myanmar cultural troupe to the audience and highlighted the dire consequences of the military coup. She urged the Norwegian government not to endorse in any way the unlawful, sham election orchestrated by the military junta, and appealed for continued support and assistance from both the Norwegian government and people to those in Myanmar who are suffering under military oppression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3. Minbu District Battalion (2) and Naga Region Pa Ka Pha Warn Against Participation in Junta\u2019s Sham Election<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minbu District Battalion (2) in Magway Region and the Naga Region Pa Ka Pha (People\u2019s Defence Force) have jointly declared that they will impose effective punishment and take action against those who participate in or assist the military junta\u2019s unlawful election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minbu District Battalion (2) stated that the so-called election, intended by the fascist military, is illegitimate. They emphasized that the military\u2014which unlawfully arrested leaders of the people\u2019s government and committed treason by staging the coup\u2014has no right to conduct an election. They added that the junta\u2019s fabricated election is merely an attempt to prolong its power, escape accountability for crimes against humanity, and undermine the democratic process while usurping the people\u2019s sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accordingly, the public has been urged to reject and resist the sham election entirely, while organizations and individuals involved will be investigated, exposed, and held accountable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Likewise, the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government, together with the Naga Region Pa Ka Pha Special Task Force, declared that they will not accept the sham election, which would only escalate conflict and instability in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They warned that those directly participating in or collaborating with the election process will be solely responsible for any loss of life, property damage, or consequences arising from it, and that resistance forces will not bear responsibility for the aftermath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, revolutionary forces have advised civilians to avoid junta battalions, military units, administrative offices, and police stations, as well as surrounding areas, for their own safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. Over 100 Houses Damaged by Strong Windstorm in Inlay Area<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to local residents and relief groups, a severe windstorm struck Kan Khaung and Hat Pon villages in the Inlay region, Nyaungshwe Township, Southern Shan State, causing damage to more than 100 houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The windstorm began around 2:30 PM on August 26. In Kan Khaung village, 65 out of 185 houses were severely damaged, while in Hat Pon village, around 56 houses were also destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately 500 people affected by the disaster have been relocated to monasteries within the villages and are in urgent need of assistance, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>5. Sixteen Civilians Killed by Junta Attacks in Rakhine State During August<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), citing collected records, confirmed that from August 1 to 27, 2025, a total of 16 civilians\u20145 women and 11 men\u2014were killed in Rakhine State by the terrorist military junta. Among the victims were 5 children under the age of 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to AAPP, 14 out of the 16 casualties were caused by junta airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 25, a junta fighter jet bombed Dain Gyi ward in Mrauk-U Township, Rakhine State.
