Ta\u2019ang Liberation Council Opposes Junta\u2019s Airstrikes and Sham Election<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 22, Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ta\u2019ang Liberation Council (TLC) issued a statement on August 22, 2025, strongly condemning the military junta\u2019s ongoing airstrikes targeting civilian areas and its preparations to conduct an illegal sham election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to TLC, between July 21 and August 21, 2025, the junta carried out over 25 aerial bombing attacks across Kyaukme, Mogok, Hsipaw, Kutkai, and Mainngaw townships in Ta\u2019ang areas. These assaults killed 59 civilians and injured more than 100 others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In particular, on August 22, in Naungpain Village, Kyaukme Township, the junta dropped&nbsp;<strong>39 bombs<\/strong>, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TLC expressed deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in these attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the TLC declared its outright rejection of the junta\u2019s attempt to hold a sham election\u2014an effort to maintain its dictatorship and seize unlawful power without the people\u2019s mandate. Among the victims were&nbsp;<strong>20 boys under the age of 18<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of deaths, with&nbsp;<strong>27 fatalities<\/strong>. Of the total 119 victims, at least&nbsp;<strong>seven were shot dead by junta troops<\/strong>, AAPP confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 20, in Hakha, Chin State, near Nari Sin, junta forces conducted stop-and-search operations. During this time, they ordered&nbsp;<strong>Salai Sang Khia<\/strong>&nbsp;to stop his motorbike. When he continued driving, junta troops opened fire, hitting him in the stomach and legs, causing him to fall from his motorcycle. Afterward, soldiers beat him on the head with their rifles, interrogated him, and then sent him to the hospital.
