\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Today\u00a0was the 30th<\/sup> of August 2015, the full moon day of Wah-khaung in\u00a0Burmese calendar. It was the day Sayaday U Vinaya\u2019s 102th birthday. The\u00a0ceremony for Sayadaw\u2019s bd was held at Sunlun Meditation Monastery at 7th\u00a0<\/sup>miles. I was told that there were 15 monks attended the ceremony, and people\u00a0could donate anything they wished to the monk. Some prepared 15 yellow robes,\u00a0or towels, or medicines, or books, or kyat-notes, or etc. I was happy to think\u00a0what I was going to offer on that day. Finally I was decided offering my book\u00a0\u201cA Memory of My Grandparents\u201d to each of the monks at Sunlun monastery.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In\u00a0the early morning of 6:00 A.M, people were waiting at the hall in the Sunlun monastery.\u00a0Sayadaw U Wara who was the head of the Sunlun Meditation Centre, with the monks\u00a0attended to the hall where we were waiting. Sayadaw firstly gave a speech about\u00a0Sayadaw U Vinaya who passed away three years ago, if He still alive, He would\u00a0reach the age of 102. Sayadaw U Wara related the short biography of Sayadaw U\u00a0Vinaya, and also reminded us that we would have to remember Sayadaw U Vinaya\u2019s gratitude,\u00a0and loving-kindness which were still guarding us.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0I missed our Sayadaw U Vinaya\u00a0so much while listening the speech. I was sure myself that although Sayadaw U\u00a0Vinaya passed away, I still followed His teaching, and did meditation as much\u00a0as I could until now. I believed that the act of my doing meditation shows how\u00a0I miss Him, and respect Him from the bottom of my heart.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

(I\u00a0donate my royalties that I received this year to Venerable Sayadaw U Wara) <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
After\u00a0the speech, Sayadaw U Wara guided us paying respects to those to whom respect\u00a0is due, and remembering those to whom we owe gratitude. After reciting Buddha\u2019s\u00a0Teaching, and praying, Sayadaw U Wara led us to follow his speech as saying\u00a0\u2018Thar-du\u2019 three times, means \u2018Well done\u2019, for our good deeds to all the beings\u00a0around, including our relatives, and grandparents who passed away, or to whom\u00a0concerned. The act of offering means \u2018dhanna\u2019 or giving, an important aspect of\u00a0Buddhist teaching.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Donating\u00a0our offering to the monks seemed to me so wonderful, and respectful to all the\u00a0Buddhist. After all, I went to the pagoda which stood in the monastery ground, and\u00a0under which Sayadaw U Vinaya\u2019s body lay, and there I sat down, and saying\u00a0prayers with my heart, and I believe Sayadaw\u2019s kindness still protecting us,\u00a0and I promised I would never forget to do meditation in this busy world.<\/span><\/div>\n
