According to a statement from the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament<\/strong>, responsible officials from five groups that jointly drafted the Interim Federal Constitution of the Sagaing Federal Unit<\/strong> held a meeting via Zoom Platform<\/strong> on August 16, 2025, at 9:00 AM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and members of the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament<\/strong>. During the session, the Speaker delivered an opening address and clarified matters related to the next steps in the Interim Federal Constitution process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterward, the participating officials exchanged views openly and cordially<\/strong> regarding the future processes and procedures to be implemented under the Interim Federal Constitution of the Sagaing Federal Unit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was successfully concluded at 12:30 PM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management (NUG)<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Royal Peacock Column<\/strong>, delivered food supplies<\/strong> to flood-affected villages in Nyaung Lay Pin Township, Sittaung River Basin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These villages had already suffered from the war, and during this year\u2019s rainy season, heavy rainfall and rising river levels caused severe flooding<\/strong>, forcing the communities to endure both war destruction and natural disaster simultaneously<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the support of the Ministry, the Royal Peacock Column<\/strong> distributed food provisions to these war- and flood-affected villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, long-term war-displaced civilians in Shwebo Township, Shwebo District<\/strong>, were provided with rice donations<\/strong> by the Dry Zone Charity Group<\/strong>, funded through contributions from donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been further announced that assistance efforts will continue<\/strong>, connecting with donors to provide humanitarian support to civilians still suffering under the oppression of the military council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the People\u2019s Administration of Tiddim Township<\/strong>, over 100 million kyat worth of counterfeit 10,000-kyat notes<\/strong> were seized in a village within the township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discovery was made after villagers noticed counterfeit money being circulated. The village defense team and youth organizations<\/strong> investigated and successfully confiscated the counterfeit notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The counterfeit money owner was arrested and interrogated by village leaders and youth officials. It was revealed that the notes had been purchased from Tio Creek on the India border at half their face value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 13<\/strong>, posters and signboards raising awareness on water resource management and environmental conservation<\/strong> were installed in villages and village tracts across Noh T\u2019Kaw Township, Dooplaya District<\/strong>, with the participation of local communities, according to a statement from the KNU Central Committee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Karen National Union (KNU), Kaw Thoo Lei Administrative Region, Dooplaya District Forestry Department, and the Department of Livestock and Fisheries<\/strong>, with leadership from the Water Resource Conservation and Fisheries Department<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign aimed to raise awareness and promote the protection of water sources and sustainable natural resource management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to KPV News<\/strong>, on August 16<\/strong>, a graduation and academic excellence award ceremony<\/strong> for the 2024\u20132025 academic year<\/strong> was held at the Basic Education Middle School of Pin Sein Yate IDP Camp<\/strong>, located in the western part of Phekone Township, on the Shan\u2013Karenni border<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the ceremony, the Headmaster of Pin Sein Yate School<\/strong> delivered the opening speech, followed by addresses from representatives of the Loikaw Education Board<\/strong>, Clean Yangon<\/strong>, and school administrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Daw Paula, the headmistress of the Pin Sein Yate IDP School, the graduation event had been delayed during the 2024\u20132025 academic year<\/strong> due to displacement from war, forced relocations, the reduction of teaching time by nearly a month, and insufficient funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, students performed traditional Kayah dances<\/strong>, and teachers presented awards for outstanding academic achievement<\/strong> to students who excelled in the 2024\u20132025 school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report stated that during the 2024\u20132025 academic year, a total of 156 students<\/strong> from kindergarten (KG) to Grade 8<\/strong> successfully attended the school. For the upcoming 2025\u20132026 academic year<\/strong>, nearly 300 students<\/strong> from KG to Grade 9<\/strong> are now enrolled and continuing their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
