UK Government affirms continued efforts towards a peaceful democratic future for Myanmar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 15<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the British Embassy in Yangon stated on August 15 that the UK Government remains committed to working towards a peaceful democratic future for Myanmar, in remembrance of the legacy of British and Commonwealth servicemen who gave their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andrew Jackson, Head of the British Embassy in Yangon, laid a wreath at the Yangon War Cemetery (Hanthawaddy) in tribute to those who fought and fell during military operations in Myanmar in the Second World War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Second World War had a profound impact on Myanmar. In remembrance of that generation, we honour the British and Commonwealth servicemen who were killed during operations in Myanmar. The sacrifices made during the Second World War were immense, with millions of lives lost on both sides. Sadly, today\u2019s ongoing conflicts in Myanmar continue to cause extraordinary hardship for the people. PSLF\/TNLA meets with Kokang residents in Mogok, returns 84 individuals to their parents or guardians<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 15<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a PSLF\/TNLA statement, the General Secretary (1) of the Palaung State Liberation Front\/Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (PSLF\/TNLA), Brigadier General Tar Aik Mar Wae, held a meeting with Kokang residents in Mogok City, Brigade (4) territory, Ta\u2019ang State, on August 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting, led by Brig-Gen Tar Aik Mar Wae, focused on discussions with the Kokang community regarding&nbsp;<strong>cooperation in local administration, education, and law enforcement<\/strong>. The PSLF\/TNLA also explained their current operations and measures to promote the development of towns and villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the meeting, the Kokang public was invited to participate in&nbsp;<strong>maintaining rule of law and stability<\/strong>&nbsp;in Mogok.
