Deputy Police Chief and two conscripted soldiers escape from naval convoy heading to Bhamo and are now under protection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that a Deputy Police Chief and two military personnel\u2014who had been forcibly conscripted\u2014escaped from a naval convoy that had departed from Gawein Port in Mandalay bound for Bhamo, Kachin State, and are now under protective care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, the naval convoy, consisting of more than 17 military vessels, had been moving north along the Ayeyarwady River since early July from Mandalay\u2019s Gawein Port, aiming to transport reinforcements and supplies to Bhamo. Along the way, the convoy was intercepted and attacked at multiple points by the People\u2019s Defence Force (PDF) and allied revolutionary forces along the river route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During one of these attacks, when confusion broke out onboard, Deputy Police Chief Thura Aung and two forcibly conscripted soldiers\u2014Han Win Aung and Paing Htet Aung\u2014jumped overboard and escaped on August 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three later revealed that due to the oppressive conditions imposed by the junta, many soldiers and forcibly recruited individuals aboard the vessels were demoralized and had been planning to flee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Meeting held with displaced civilians and resistance fighters affected by junta\u2019s human rights violations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The People\u2019s Security Department of the Nay Pyi Taw Military Command, under the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government, in cooperation with local allied revolutionary forces and members of the People\u2019s Defence Force, is conducting on-the-ground documentation and recording of war crimes and human rights violations committed by the junta forces in the operational area, according to a statement from Nay Pyi Taw PDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the statement said that they met with displaced civilians who had fled their homes due to the junta\u2019s human rights abuses. The purpose of the meetings was to coordinate with relevant departments to ensure the fastest possible provision of urgently needed humanitarian assistance and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. KNLA Special Forces attacked a junta gate outpost in Nan Taung village; casualties reported<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KNLA\u2019s Brigade (4) Special Forces reported that they carried out an attack on a junta gate outpost stationed in Nan Taung village, Pulao Township, Tanintharyi Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Special Forces said the attack took place on&nbsp;<strong>August 10 at 06:20<\/strong>. During the engagement, one member of the junta forces was killed and four were seriously wounded. Although the junta retaliated by firing heavy-weapon drones, the attacking KNLA unit was able to withdraw without suffering casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KNLA Special Forces stated their objectives in mounting the assault were to disperse and stretch the junta\u2019s forces, to create an environment of insecurity inside the enemy camp so that they would feel unsafe, to disrupt the junta\u2019s daily operations, and to carry out operations designed to unsettle and disorient the enemy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. One civilian killed and six injured after junta heavy-weapon attacks in Mu Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Karen National Union (KNU) reported that in Mu Township (within the Kawthoolei-administered area), junta forces deliberately targeted civilians and launched heavy-weapon fire \u2014 including some strikes using drones \u2014 across several villages. As a result, one civilian was killed and six others were wounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details provided by the KNU:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On\u00a0<strong>August 8 at 12:00 noon<\/strong>, the Shwe Wa column (Kha Mar 307) fired one\u00a0<strong>120 mm<\/strong>\u00a0heavy artillery round into Ma U Pin village. The shell struck and killed\u00a0<strong>Ko Ye Lin Thu (age 20)<\/strong>\u00a0and seriously wounded\u00a0<strong>Ko Zeya Myo (age 27)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On\u00a0<strong>August 7<\/strong>, between 10:00 and 12:00, forces from Kha Mar (439) fired three heavy rounds at locations in the Ka Nyutt Kwin area;\u00a0<strong>U Aung Ko Lin (43)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>U Aung Than Zaw (45)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Daw Nan Bo (49)<\/strong>\u00a0were hit and wounded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On\u00a0<strong>August 10 at 10:45<\/strong>, a heavy-weapon round struck Bama Myat Yae village. Five people, including a child, killed in junta airstrike in Pauktaw Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 11<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>9:00 a.m. on August 11<\/strong>, a Y-12 aircraft from the Tada-U Air Base carried out at least&nbsp;<strong>13 bombing runs<\/strong>&nbsp;over villages in the eastern part of Pauktaw Township, dropping an estimated&nbsp;<strong>50 bombs<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the attack, a bomb fell and exploded in&nbsp;<strong>Sha Khwe Lay village<\/strong>, killing&nbsp;<strong>three people, including a child<\/strong>, and injuring&nbsp;<strong>five others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition,&nbsp;<strong>one displaced civilian<\/strong>&nbsp;was killed in&nbsp;<strong>Mon Taw village<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>another displaced civilian<\/strong>&nbsp;was killed in&nbsp;<strong>Nyaung Pin Taik village<\/strong>.
