At the regular coordination meeting of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), Union Minister U Yee Mon presented the Ministry of Defence\u2019s operations and future plans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 10<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been reported that during the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw\u2019s regular coordination meeting (30\/2025), held via videoconference on August 8, 2025, the National Unity Government\u2019s Ministry of Defence presented its recent activities and future operational plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the meeting, CRPH Chair U Aung Kyi Nyunt delivered opening remarks, after which Union Minister of Defence U Yee Mon provided an update on the Ministry\u2019s latest undertakings, the security situation on the ground, relevant challenges, and the state of relations with allied forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the briefing, attending committee members discussed and inquired about matters they wished to clarify, offering suggestions in the process. CRPH pledges to work with Kachin leaders and revolutionary forces beyond the parliamentary sphere to accelerate the revolution, in a message for the 50th Kachin Martyrs\u2019 Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 10<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw has issued a message for the 50th Kachin Martyrs\u2019 Day, pledging to continue efforts not only in the parliamentary sphere but also in other sectors where cooperation and coordination are possible, to work together with Kachin leaders and all revolutionary forces to accelerate the momentum of the revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the message, the CRPH extended wishes for the health and well-being of all Kachin leaders and the Kachin people on the occasion of the 50th Kachin Martyrs\u2019 Day, which falls on August 10, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The message also expressed the hope that, in building a Federal Democratic Union that fully guarantees freedom, justice, and self-determination, collaboration will continue with allied ethnic revolutionary organizations as well as various domestic and international forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It paid tribute to the Kachin national leaders, the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), which have been established to fight for the liberation of the entire Kachin nation, and which have steadfastly continued the Kachin revolutionary journey up to the present. It honored the historic sacrifices of KIO\/KIA leaders who gave their lives in both past people\u2019s struggles and the ongoing Spring Revolution\u2014particularly KIO\/KIA Chair and Commander-in-Chief Gen. GOC Lahtaw Zau Seng, Vice Commander-in-Chief VCS Lahtaw Zaw Tu, and General Secretary Salang Kaba Pungshwi Zau Seng\u2014as well as the bravery, patriotism, resilience, and capability of Kachin people and KIO\/KIA soldiers, which remain a source of pride and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The message noted that the Kachin people have endured many years of suffering under the brutality of military dictatorship and continue to face violent acts, including ongoing airstrikes. It expressed admiration for the resolve and dignity of Kachin leaders and soldiers who, despite such hardship, continue to stand firmly alongside their people and fight on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the CRPH reaffirmed its belief that in the political, military, and judicial spheres, as well as in other sectors of public life, it will be able to continue working in harmony with all revolutionary forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3. NUG Ministry of Human Rights meets with human rights officers from five Regions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 10<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement from the Ministry of Human Rights, a three-day meeting was held from July 5 to 7 between the Ministry and human rights officers from five Regions\u2014Sagaing, Magway, Mandalay, Bago, and Tanintharyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, regional officers presented challenges encountered on the ground, to which officials from the Ministry responded with solutions. Discussions also covered the collection of information on human rights violations occurring in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, both sides discussed mutual arrangements for gathering necessary data and ensuring access to information, in order to resume conducting human rights training at the local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry noted that its appointed human rights officers are working in coordination with relevant township People\u2019s Administration members to record and document human rights violations, connect victims with possible avenues for redress, and carry out human rights awareness activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>4. Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee holds meeting with Yangon Region People\u2019s Administration bodies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 10<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee of the National Unity Government held its meeting (8\/2025) with People\u2019s Administration bodies from Yangon Region on August 10 at 10:00 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been learned that the opening remarks were delivered by a member of the Secretariat of the Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee, who is also an official from the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following that, representatives from various ministries provided briefings on their respective undertakings. Relevant ministries then discussed and addressed agenda items submitted by the townships. This was followed by an exchange of questions and answers between the ministries and People\u2019s Administration members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was attended by Union Deputy Ministers, Associate Deputy Ministers, officials from relevant ministries, and members of the People\u2019s Administration from Yangon Region. Ceremonies held in the United States to mark the 37th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 10<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 9, a ceremony marking the 37th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising, along with a Burma Day flag-raising event, was held in front of Berkeley City Hall, California, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was attended by members of the 8888 Generation, Spring Revolution forces, student groups, and pro-democracy activists, and served to honor the history of Myanmar\u2019s democratic movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, in Greeley Square, Manhattan, New York City, the NYCBC group also held its own ceremony commemorating the 37th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been learned that U Nay Tin Myint from the 88 Generation delivered a speech recounting the history of the 1988 uprising against one-party dictatorship and military rule, and the continuing struggle of Myanmar\u2019s Spring Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremonies were attended by members of the Myanmar diaspora from various ethnic backgrounds.
