Resistance forces attack military convoy from Infantry Battalion 407 in Yephyu, killing 15 including two majors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 7<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around 7:00 a.m. on August 5, resistance forces attacked a military council convoy of about 100 troops from Infantry Battalion 407 in Yephyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, shortly after it had departed the battalion base. The clash took place near the battalion and lasted for about one hour, according to the&nbsp;<em>Duraka Column<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the exchange of fire, 15 junta soldiers\u2014including two majors\u2014were killed, and many others were wounded. On the resistance side, a few allied fighters received minor injuries, which were reported to be non-life-threatening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack was jointly carried out by the&nbsp;<em>Duraka Column<\/em>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<em>Dawei National Liberation Army<\/em>&nbsp;(DNLA), the&nbsp;<em>Tavoy People\u2019s Liberation Force<\/em>&nbsp;(TPLF), the&nbsp;<em>Black Tiger Column<\/em>, and the&nbsp;<em>Bilon Pyauk Tiger Force<\/em>, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Junta artillery unit in Kyauktu attacks Kan Gyi village with drone-dropped bomb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 7<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Yoe A Linn Tan<\/em>&nbsp;group reported that the junta\u2019s Artillery Battalion 368, based in Kyauktu town, Saw Township, Magway Region, carried out a drone attack on Kan Gyi village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 10:45 a.m. on August 7, without any ongoing battle in the area, a heavy bomb was dropped by drone directly onto the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the attack, one civilian sustained a non-life-threatening neck injury, and one house was destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Locals have been warned to be on high alert, as junta troops have been repeatedly carrying out unprovoked drone-bombing attacks on villages in and around Kyauktu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. Junta conducts airstrike and artillery attack on western Demoso<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 7<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around 6:00 p.m. on August 7, the junta conducted an airstrike on a location in the western part of Demoso, Karenni State, dropping two bombs from an aircraft and firing about three artillery shells, according to&nbsp;<em>Karenni Rescue Team 21<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A man in his mid-20s was injured by the artillery fire while traveling through the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the night of August 3, junta forces have been shelling the western side of Demoso continuously, forcing displaced residents who had returned to their homes in Daw Ngankha and Kon Tha villages to flee again on August 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Junta informant involved in drug trafficking shot and killed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 7<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>People\u2019s Defence Force \u2013 Kawthaung Township<\/em>&nbsp;announced that a junta informant who was also involved in the sale of narcotics was shot dead in Se Ei Su village, Aung Metta ward, Maliwan Quarter, Kawthaung Township, Tanintharyi Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At about 4:00 p.m. on August 6, the informant\u2014identified as Nay Lin Aung (aka &#8220;Pop Pop&#8221;)\u2014was found carrying a firearm during a search at a roadside location and was subsequently shot and killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, he had been repeatedly warned to stop engaging in illegal activities, which included selling and distributing narcotics, carrying firearms, guiding junta military convoys, monitoring the movements of resistance forces, and sending intelligence reports to the junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although he had previously signed written pledges promising to cease such activities and abide by the rules set by the resistance forces, he failed to comply, leading to his execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. Three people arrested in Kutkai for stealing a transformer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 7<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>PSLF\/TNLA<\/em>&nbsp;(Palaung State Liberation Front\/Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army) reported that three individuals who stole a transformer in Ward 8 of Kutkai town, under the control of Military Region 7, Northern Shan State, were arrested along with the equipment they used. The arrest took place at around 7:00 a.m. on August 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrested individuals were identified as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Zaw Oo Ko Ko, age 22<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>U Zaw Lat, age 33<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sai Ko Htoo, age 28<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They have been handed over to the Kutkai Township Police Station and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6. Twenty-three killed, including four children, in Karenni region in July due to junta and PNO human rights violations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 7<\/strong><br><em>Radio NUG<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Karenni Human Rights Group reported that, due to the violent actions of junta forces and the PNO\u2019s (Pa-O National Organization) People\u2019s Militia, a total of 23 people \u2014 including 4 children \u2014 were killed in the Karenni region during the month of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the month, the following incidents were recorded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>7 airstrikes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9 artillery shelling attacks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 shooting incidents with small arms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 landmine incident<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 incidents of arbitrary arrest<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 incidents of arson attacks on civilian homes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of these acts of violence, 4 children, 9 men, and 10 women were killed. A further 31 people \u2014 including 5 children \u2014 were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, 71 civilians were arrested in Loikaw Township. Over 30 civilian homes in the towns of Hsawngkhan Shan, Noke Kone, and Mobye were burned down, bringing the total number of homes destroyed in the region to more than 81.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>7.
