After the Sagaing Earthquake, Military Airstrikes on Hospitals Have Increased, Says NUG

August 7

According to the Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government (NUG), the Myanmar military junta has increased airstrikes on hospitals and clinics compared to previous years, particularly after the earthquake that struck Sagaing on March 28.

Following the quake, many civilians lost their homes and lives. Since then, the military has intentionally escalated its attacks on medical facilities, the NUG reports.

For instance, on July 29, at approximately 10:30 PM, the military launched two aerial bombings on Charging People’s Hospital, located in Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region.
