\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 1. After the Sagaing Earthquake, Military Airstrikes on Hospitals Have Increased, Says NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government (NUG)<\/strong>, the Myanmar military junta<\/strong> has increased airstrikes on hospitals and clinics<\/strong> compared to previous years, particularly after the earthquake that struck Sagaing on March 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the quake, many civilians lost their homes and lives. Since then, the military has intentionally escalated its attacks<\/strong> on medical facilities, the NUG reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, on July 29<\/strong>, at approximately 10:30 PM<\/strong>, the military launched two aerial bombings<\/strong> on Charging People\u2019s Hospital<\/strong>, located in Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region<\/strong>. The attack killed five innocent civilians<\/strong>, including a child receiving treatment, an elderly person, and two women. An additional three people were severely injured. The hospital\u2019s inpatient ward, operating room, radiology department, pharmacy, medical equipment storage, and staff quarters sustained significant damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April<\/strong>, hospitals and rural clinics in the following Sagaing townships were attacked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wetlet<\/strong>, Kawlin<\/strong>, Wuntho<\/strong>, Inndaw<\/strong>, Debayin<\/strong>, Sagaing<\/strong>, and Tigyaing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional attacks occurred in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myingyan Earthquake Mobile Clinic<\/strong> in Madaya<\/strong>, Mandalay Region;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilities in Singu<\/strong> and Thabeikkyin<\/strong> townships;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hospital in Mogok<\/strong>, Kachin State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May<\/strong>, airstrikes hit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hospitals in Salingyi<\/strong>, Pinlebu<\/strong>, and Kawlin<\/strong> in Sagaing Region;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hospital in Hpa-An<\/strong>, under the Karen National Union Brigade 1<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hospital in Pulaw Township<\/strong>, Tanintharyi Region;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A clinic in Kamma<\/strong> town, Pakokku Township, Magway Region;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hospitals in Mying<\/strong> and Pauk<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hospital in Yezagyo<\/strong>, which was attacked with heavy artillery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June<\/strong>, the Tatmadaw<\/strong> carried out an aerial bombing using helicopters<\/strong> on the Taiknain Hospital<\/strong> in Salingyi\u2019s Mataungta village<\/strong>. Other attacks targeted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A clinic in Thayetchaung Township<\/strong>, Tanintharyi;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rural clinic in Nwathogyi Township<\/strong>, Mandalay;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The well-known Metta Nanda Hospital<\/strong>, founded by Dr. Nandamalabhivamsa in Singu<\/strong>, which straddles Madaya and Singu townships;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hospital in Kyitaungpok Village<\/strong>, Singu Township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July<\/strong>, the military conducted further airstrikes on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hospital in Hsipaw<\/strong>, Northern Shan State;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A clinic in Demoso Township<\/strong>, Karenni State;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rural health center in Pauk Township<\/strong>, Magway Region;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charging Hospital<\/strong> again in Kantbalu<\/strong>, Sagaing Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the NUG Ministry of Health, these attacks have resulted in civilian casualties<\/strong>\u2014including healthcare workers<\/strong>, their families, patients<\/strong>, caretakers<\/strong>, monks<\/strong>, children<\/strong>, women<\/strong>, pregnant individuals<\/strong>, and elderly citizens<\/strong>. Infrastructure and equipment damage includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hospital buildings,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medicines and medical equipment,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healthcare staff housing,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Religious buildings,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schools, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Civilians’ homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The junta, adhering to militant authoritarianism<\/strong> for over four years, has deliberately targeted the healthcare sector<\/strong>. The NUG emphasizes that these actions blatantly violate international humanitarian laws<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Geneva Conventions<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UN Security Council Resolutions<\/strong>, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International human rights laws<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NUG Health Ministry expresses strong condemnation<\/strong> of the junta’s violent actions and stands in solidarity<\/strong> with local communities and frontline healthcare workers<\/strong> who continue providing public health services despite risking their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NUG urges all those who are collaborating with or supporting the junta<\/strong>\u2014directly or indirectly\u2014to cease their involvement immediately<\/strong>, warning that the junta and its affiliates<\/strong> will be held legally accountable<\/strong> under the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the NUG calls on the international community<\/strong> not to ignore these atrocities, especially war crimes<\/strong> and crimes against humanity<\/strong> committed through airstrikes on innocent civilians and healthcare providers. The NUG urges swift and decisive international action<\/strong> and asks the global community to stand with the suffering people of Myanmar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 2. Resistance Forces Inflict Heavy Losses on Advancing Military Column: Around 70 Junta Troops Killed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Sar Hkar District Battalion 1<\/strong>, approximately 70 junta troops<\/strong> have been killed as fierce clashes broke out in areas under resistance control, where the military junta attempted to advance into rebel-held territory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning on July 18<\/strong>, the junta deployed about 600 troops<\/strong> to launch an offensive on resistance-controlled zones. As a result, daily battles<\/strong> have erupted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resistance forces<\/strong> intercepted the advancing troops from Naypyidaw<\/strong> using landmines<\/strong>, ambush tactics<\/strong>, and direct combat<\/strong>, inflicting around 70 casualties<\/strong> on the military, Sar Hkar District Battalion 1 reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two resistance fighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries<\/strong>, and some resistance camps had to be temporarily withdrawn<\/strong> under pressure from the large-scale offensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the ongoing offensive<\/strong>, resistance forces have urged civilians living near the junta\u2019s advancing columns to relocate<\/strong> for their safety, warning of potential clashes at any moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The counteroffensive is a joint operation involving:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battalion 902<\/strong> and Battalion 804<\/strong> of the Naypyidaw Regional Military Command,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sar Hkar District Battalion 1<\/strong>, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Defense Force (PDF) of Aunglan Township<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 3. Three Battles Occurred in Nganzun Township: Around 25 Regime Troops Killed, Over 35 Injured<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a statement released today (August 7) by Battalion 5 under Mandalay District Command, three separate battles occurred in July in Nganzun Township, Myingyan District of Mandalay Region, resulting in approximately 25 military regime troops killed<\/strong> and no fewer than 35 injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These clashes happened as a military convoy of about 200 troops<\/strong>, including police, soldiers, and Pyusawhti militia reinforcements, advanced from Se Mee Khone (also pronounced Sa Mait Khone) port toward the Nganzun police outpost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details of the clashes are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 8:<\/strong> The military convoy departed from Ngamyauk Gyi police station and advanced through Moetaung Village towards Konelay Village. A clash occurred during this movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 10:<\/strong> Another military push from Pauk Taw Village towards Nat Kyi Village resulted in fighting when resistance forces ambushed the forward military unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 12:<\/strong> Resistance forces again intercepted and attacked the advancing military convoy moving from Pauk Taw to Nat Kyi Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Battalion 5, these three direct clashes between resistance forces and regime troops resulted in about 25 regime troops killed<\/strong> and over 35 wounded<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the July 8 battle, 13 civilian homes in Konelay Village were burned down<\/strong> by the advancing military convoy. On the same day, one resistance fighter was killed<\/strong> and four were injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the July 12<\/strong> engagement, an Su-30-type fighter jet<\/strong> (as believed by local sources) dropped six bombs directly onto Nat Kyi Village<\/strong>, and two additional bombs nearby<\/strong>. The military also attacked twice using mortar fire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This military column of approximately 200 personnel was jointly engaged by multiple resistance units, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 4. Military Convoy on Chindwin River Attacked \u2013 Regime Sustains Damage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Brave Heart Army (B.H.A)<\/strong> announced today (August 7) that a military flotilla traveling upstream on the Chindwin River was attacked<\/strong>, resulting in damage to the junta forces<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 3<\/strong>, at around 11:15 a.m.<\/strong>, a group of resistance fighters from the Chindwin Fighter Group (CFG)<\/strong> and Brave Heart Army (B.H.A)<\/strong> jointly carried out a coordinated attack<\/strong> on a military ship and 10 accompanying barges<\/strong> traveling upriver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack involved the detonation of three directional mines<\/strong> and small arms fire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the military convoy returned fire using a variety of small weapons, no injuries were reported among the resistance fighters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brave Heart Army stated that there may have been casualties or injuries on the junta side<\/strong>, but that further confirmation is still being investigated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resistance forces also called for solidarity and cooperation<\/strong> among revolutionary groups and urged the public to continue supporting the movement until the military dictatorship is completely dismantled<\/strong>, paving the way for a true Federal Democratic Union<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 5. Danu People’s Liberation Front (DPLF\/DPLA) Vows Full Commitment to Fight Against the Military Junta<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Danu People’s Liberation Front \/ Danu People’s Liberation Army (DPLF \/ DPLA)<\/strong> has declared its unwavering commitment<\/strong> to continue fighting alongside other revolutionary forces until the military dictatorship is overthrown<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This announcement was made in a statement marking the 3rd anniversary<\/strong> of the formation of the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DPLF\/DPLA was officially established on August 7, 2022<\/strong>, and the statement commemorates its full three-year anniversary as of August 7, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the statement, DPLF\/DPLA reaffirmed that it will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Persistently participate in the armed struggle<\/strong> against the military dictatorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protect and defend the people<\/strong> of Danu State and the surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work towards the establishment of Danu State<\/strong> as part of the federal democratic structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
