\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 1. Artillery Strike by Military Junta in Hpakant Kills 3 Civilians, Injures 16<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to local sources, an artillery attack by junta forces<\/strong> in Hpakant Township<\/strong>, Kachin State, has resulted in the death of 3 civilians<\/strong> and injuries to 16 others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack occurred at around 7 PM on August 5<\/strong>, when artillery shells were fired from a military base on Hpakant Strategic Hill<\/strong>. The shells landed and exploded in Sharaw Ka Village<\/strong> and Yuma Village<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Sharaw Ka Village<\/strong>, one male civilian was killed and a house was destroyed by fire. In Yuma Village<\/strong>, two civilians were killed<\/strong> and 16 were injured<\/strong> as a result of the shelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 2. Police Training Battalion No. (3) in Sagaing Attacked by Drone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kaung Htet District Drone Unit<\/strong> announced that a drone attack<\/strong> was launched on Police Training Battalion No. (3)<\/strong> in Sagaing City<\/strong>, Sagaing Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 4 at around 3:30 PM<\/strong>, while police officers were assembled in formation, two 3-kg drone bombs<\/strong> and two 1-kg drone bombs<\/strong> were accurately dropped on the battalion grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack reportedly killed 15 people on the spot<\/strong>, including one officer<\/strong>, and many others were seriously injured<\/strong>, including the son of a senior-ranking officer (Lt. Col. \u2013 2-star)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building where the officer resided was also completely destroyed<\/strong> in the assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coordinated drone strike was carried out by a joint force including Kaung Htet District Drone Battalion No. 1844<\/strong>, Aung Thapyay Brothers (Kaung Htet PDF)<\/strong>, and the Myittha People\u2019s Defense Force<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 3. Three Junta Soldiers Killed in Guerrilla Attack on Military Vehicle in Natogyi Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Natogyi Township<\/strong>, Myingyan District<\/strong>, Mandalay Region, a junta vehicle carrying five soldiers<\/strong> was ambushed by guerrilla forces, resulting in three deaths<\/strong>, according to a statement by Natogyi PDF Battalion 4\/10<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ambush took place at 3:12 PM on August 6<\/strong>, on the Kana \u2013 Pyinsi Road<\/strong>, where PDF members opened fire on the military vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the attack, three junta soldiers were killed<\/strong>, while two managed to flee<\/strong>. The resistance fighters seized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 M79 grenade launcher<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 MA-3 assault rifles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

215 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 40mm grenade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 hand grenade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 magazines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the vehicle used by the junta troops was set on fire and destroyed<\/strong>. The PDF forces reportedly retreated safely without any casualties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 4. Junta Police Outpost at Mile 188\/7 on Expressway Attacked<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a statement by the People\u2019s Defence Force (PDF) Meikhtila<\/strong>, a junta police outpost located at Mile 188\/7<\/strong> on the Yangon\u2013Mandalay Expressway<\/strong> was attacked<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The assault occurred at around 4:00 AM on August 5<\/strong>, when the PDF forces entered and launched an attack on the outpost. A close-quarters firefight<\/strong> ensued, lasting for about 30 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the clash, 2 junta-affiliated police personnel were killed<\/strong>, and one PDF fighter<\/strong> from the allied forces sustained minor injuries<\/strong>. The resistance forces were able to retreat successfully<\/strong>, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operation was jointly carried out by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meikhtila District Battalion 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myingyan District Battalion 8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PDF forces from Malun Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 5. 23 Junta Soldiers Defect to Resistance Forces in Tanintharyi, Kalaywa, and Pakokku Townships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 23 junta troops<\/strong> have defected to resistance forces<\/strong> in Tanintharyi, Kalaywa<\/strong>, and Pakokku Townships<\/strong>, according to public announcements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 30<\/strong>, a soldier from Battalion 557<\/strong>, based in Aukkine Village<\/strong>, Tanintharyi Region, surrendered along with his weapon<\/strong> to the Tanintharyi People\u2019s Defence Force (PaKaHpa)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defector brought with him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 MA2 assault rifle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 magazine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

18 bullets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was warmly received<\/strong> by the resistance and will be awarded a recognition reward<\/strong>, sources say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, two junta soldiers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One from the Aung Chan Tha village outpost<\/strong>, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One from the Ma Sein village outpost<\/strong>, both in Kalaywa Township<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Defected with weapons to Kalay District Battalion No. 9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two defectors handed over:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 KO12 rifle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 MA1 rifle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 magazines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

421 rounds of ammunition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A full set of military equipment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of their defection, Kalay District Battalion 9<\/strong>, in coordination with Kalaywa PaKaHpa<\/strong> and PaKaf (People\u2019s Administration Committees)<\/strong>, awarded them a total of 8 million kyats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, between July 12 and August 5<\/strong>, 20 forcibly conscripted recruits<\/strong> from units under Military Operations Command (MOC) 101<\/strong> based in Pakokku<\/strong> also defected<\/strong>, according to the Burma Revolution Rangers<\/strong>.
These defectors were originally conscripted<\/strong> from towns such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sagaing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandalay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesagyo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shwebo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naypyidaw<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They had been assigned to Light Infantry Battalions 251, 252, and 235<\/strong>, stationed in Pakokku<\/strong>, and defected in small groups over successive days<\/strong>.
As they had not yet been armed<\/strong>, they did not bring any weapons<\/strong>. It\u2019s reported that they have since been reconnected with their families<\/strong>, and some have returned to their hometowns<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
