To address the acute shortage of healthcare human resources and to expand access to medical care across Chinland, the Government of Chinland has announced the opening of a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.,B.S)<\/strong> training program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course, set to begin in 2026<\/strong>, will be jointly conducted by the Interim University Council of University of Medicine 1<\/strong> and the Ministry of Health and Sports of the Government of Chinland<\/strong>. Applications for the program are now open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course will span six years of academic training<\/strong> followed by one year of housemanship (clinical internship)<\/strong>. A total of 30 students<\/strong> will be accepted, and training will take place within medical institutions located in Chinland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classes are scheduled to commence in January 2026<\/strong>, and the application deadline is 4:00 PM, September 30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Application forms can be obtained either through local administrative or health representatives or by requesting a Google link via the Facebook Messenger of the Ministry of Health and Sports, Government of Chinland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Than Daung Gyi Township<\/strong>, Kayin State<\/strong>, torrential rains have triggered landslides and flash floods<\/strong>, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals<\/strong>, including children. There are still people missing, prompting urgent search and rescue efforts<\/strong>, according to local residents and the St. George\u2019s Youth \u2013 Than Daung Gyi<\/strong> group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heavy rainfall began on August 3<\/strong>, and landslides occurred on August 4 and 5<\/strong> in and around Than Daung Gyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of now, eight fatalities<\/strong> have been confirmed, including children. Additionally, numerous gardens and farmland<\/strong> have been destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many residential homes<\/strong> in Than Daung Gyi were damaged or destroyed due to the landslides. The Taungoo\u2013Than Daung Gyi road section<\/strong> has also been rendered impassable by landslides and overflowing mountain streams, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of today, August 6<\/strong>, the rain continues to fall. Roads connecting villages have been damaged, creating major transportation difficulties<\/strong>, and the entire Thipuki Village<\/strong> area has been temporarily evacuated<\/strong> due to the ongoing threat of landslides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, ongoing clashes<\/strong> between the military junta and resistance forces in the area have led to tight military security checks<\/strong> at town entry and exit points, making it difficult for rescue teams and humanitarian workers<\/strong> to access the affected regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Jackson has recently assumed his duties as the acting head of the British mission in Yangon. Speaking on his appointment, he said it was an honor to serve in Myanmar<\/strong> on behalf of the UK Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed that, during these extremely challenging times for everyone, the UK\u2019s long-standing commitments to the people of Myanmar remain solid and unchanged<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the UK Government will continue to respond to the increasing humanitarian needs<\/strong> inside the country and will strive to address human rights violations<\/strong> wherever they occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Mr. Jackson emphasized that through the UK\u2019s actions, they aim to help alleviate the difficulties faced by communities in the most underserved regions<\/strong> and provide opportunities<\/strong> for talented youth from Myanmar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dagon University Student Union has formally requested the Dagon University Interim Council to rename \u201cDagon University Royal Road\u201d<\/strong> as \u201cWut Yay Road\u201d<\/strong> in honor of Ma Wut Yay Aung<\/strong>, representing the collective will of the university\u2019s student body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ma Wut Yay Aung, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Dagon University Student Union, passed away on July 20<\/strong> due to inadequate medical care<\/strong> for injuries she had sustained during the revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was arrested on September 14, 2021<\/strong>, by the junta\u2019s military forces for protesting against the military coup. She was initially sentenced to three years in prison<\/strong> under Section 505(a)<\/strong> and imprisoned at Insein Prison<\/strong>, before being transferred to Daik-U Prison<\/strong>. She was later brought back to Insein<\/strong>, where she was handed an additional four-year sentence<\/strong> under Section 52(a)<\/strong> on June 27, 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
