The Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament convened its regular coordination meeting via video conference on August 5, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, participants discussed key issues including military and political operations being carried out within the Sagaing Federal Unit, the Parliament\u2019s current political engagement with ASEAN and neighboring countries, and the processes related to forming an interim government in accordance with the federal democratic principles. The objective of forming such a government is to contribute effectively to the success of the revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees of the meeting included the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament, members responsible from various parliamentary committees, and elected representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 2. PRF Announces List of Logistics Troops Awarded \u201cNo Absenteeism Honor Gift\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Revolutionary Force (PRF) has released the list of logistics troops selected as recipients of the \u201cNo Absenteeism Honor Gift.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement stated,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn this difficult and turbulent revolutionary journey, we deeply respect and honor the logistics personnel who, despite the daily hardships, continue to serve diligently and unwaveringly. That is why we organized this recognition program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PRF explained that although they would like to personally deliver honor gifts to each individual at their homes, logistical constraints and limitations must be understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selected individuals will be receiving annual honor gifts corresponding to each \u201cNo Absenteeism\u201d year. As previously announced, all logistics personnel who participated in the program will also receive soft copies of the recognition materials via email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRF further stated that it respectfully salutes each and every logistics personnel member who steadfastly stands behind the People’s Defense Forces and contributes with tireless dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 3. Communication Blackout Had Already Been Imposed in 51 Out of 63 Townships Declared Under Martial Law<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Voice Network, phone and internet communication lines had already been cut off in 51 out of the 63 townships<\/strong> where the junta declared a state of emergency (martial law).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 31, junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, through the National Defense and Security Council, declared a state of emergency in 63 townships<\/strong> across nine regions and states<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on data compiled by the Voice Network up to the end of June, the military junta had already imposed communication blackouts in 51 of these 63 townships even before the official declaration. The report also found that the junta had intentionally cut off communication lines in areas not under a state of emergency<\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report highlights that, following the cut-off of communication lines, the junta has conducted ground operations and airstrikes<\/strong> targeting not only military entities but also civilian populations without distinction<\/strong>, thereby committing widespread violations of human rights<\/strong> in the affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 4. Petition Submitted to Thai Senate to Terminate Issuance of CI Booklets that Provide Tax Revenue to Myanmar Junta, and to Adopt Thailand\u2019s Pink Card as the Sole Valid Document<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A formal petition has been submitted to the Thai Senate requesting the termination of the issuance of Certificate of Identity (CI) booklets<\/strong>\u2014which currently generate tax revenue for the Myanmar military junta\u2014and proposing that only Thailand\u2019s \u201cPink Card\u201d<\/strong> be recognized and permitted as the official document for Myanmar migrant workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was learned that the Bright Future Group<\/strong> submitted this petition on August 5<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appeal specifically urged the Thai government to suspend the use of the \u201cgreen CI booklet\u201d<\/strong> (Certificate of Identity) issued by Myanmar authorities to identify migrant workers and to recognize the \u201cPink Card\u201d issued by Thailand\u2019s Ministry of Interior as the sole primary document<\/strong> for Myanmar migrant workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thai Senator Mr. Tawarit Maneesai<\/strong> confirmed that he would continue pursuing this matter, stating that the responsibility of the Thai Labor Affairs Committee<\/strong> is to ensure the rights and welfare of all migrant workers, regardless of nationality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc 5. 37th Anniversary Commemorative 8888 Umbrella Strike Held in Advance Outside the UN Headquarters in New York City<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A preliminary 8888 Commemorative Umbrella Strike<\/strong> marking the 37th anniversary<\/strong> of the 1988 pro-democracy uprising was held in front of the United Nations Secretariat Headquarters<\/strong> in New York City, USA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 6, it was reported that Myanmar nationals in New York organized this event outside the UN Headquarters as a tribute to the historic 8888 uprising and that their actions were respectfully acknowledged and honored by the people\u2019s protest movement in Yangon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, a parallel commemorative 8888 Umbrella Strike<\/strong> marking the 37th anniversary was also carried out in Dallas, Texas<\/strong>, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been confirmed that Burmese communities in New York City will hold a commemorative event for the 37th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to NYCBC (New York City Burmese Community), the event is scheduled to be held near Greeley Square<\/strong> on August 9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will commemorate the nationwide 8888 uprising<\/strong>, where the people of Myanmar from all walks of life rose up in unity\u2014across cities, towns, and rural areas\u2014to resist both one-party dictatorship and military rule.<\/strong> The NYCBC stated that this anniversary will be held as planned and urged all revolutionary brothers and sisters to attend and participate actively<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
