NUG Defense Minister Encourages Continued Participation in the PRF Program to Strengthen the Mental and Physical Capabilities of Revolution Fighters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 5<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Union Minister of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG), U Yee Mon, has called for continued participation in the PRF (People\u2019s Revolution Force) program to further strengthen the much-needed mental and physical capacities of revolution fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This message was conveyed in a video message sent by the Union Minister for the ceremony held to honor and present recognition gifts to those who successfully completed the &#8220;No Failure&#8221; program conducted from&nbsp;<strong>June 21 to July 31<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince the inception of the PRF in 2022, until now\u2014almost four years later\u2014PRF personnel have been consistently delivering without failure. The Ministry of Defense would like to express special gratitude to all PRF members for their unwavering support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is critically important for PRF members to continue their support from the rear lines so that PDF comrades on the front lines can engage with peace of mind and determination. While PDF battalions and units were previously supported on an intermittent basis, starting from June this year, we have transitioned to providing support on a&nbsp;<strong>monthly<\/strong>&nbsp;basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, I would like to encourage everyone to continue their participation in the PRF program to sustain the vital mental and physical strength that our revolution fighters urgently need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. BWU Reports 64 Women Killed in July Due to SAC Airstrikes and Related Violence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 5<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Burmese Women&#8217;s Union (BWU)<\/strong>&nbsp;reported on&nbsp;<strong>August 5<\/strong>&nbsp;that during&nbsp;<strong>July 2025<\/strong>, airstrikes carried out by the military junta resulted in the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>52 women<\/strong>&nbsp;and injuries to&nbsp;<strong>67 others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In particular, in&nbsp;<strong>Karenni State<\/strong>, seven airstrikes resulted in the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>14 civilians<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>9 women<\/strong>, and injured&nbsp;<strong>18<\/strong>&nbsp;others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>11 women<\/strong>\u00a0were killed and\u00a0<strong>9<\/strong>\u00a0injured by heavy artillery shelling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1 woman<\/strong>\u00a0died in prison due to\u00a0<strong>lack of medical treatment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>7 women<\/strong>\u00a0were injured by\u00a0<strong>landmines<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>gender-based violence<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In total,&nbsp;<strong>64 women<\/strong>&nbsp;were killed and&nbsp;<strong>80 women<\/strong>&nbsp;injured in July as a result of the junta\u2019s violent acts. Among the deceased were&nbsp;<strong>14 girls under the age of 18<\/strong>, according to the BWU report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>6. Drug Rehabilitation Camp Opens in Theinni District, Strengthening Anti-Drug Efforts in Special Region (1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 5<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;<strong>drug rehabilitation camp<\/strong>&nbsp;named&nbsp;<strong>\u201cLaptu\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;has been established in&nbsp;<strong>Taung Ta Law village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Innai Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Theinni District<\/strong>, located in&nbsp;<strong>northern Shan State<\/strong>&nbsp;under the control of the&nbsp;<strong>Kokang MNDAA<\/strong>. According to&nbsp;<em>The Kokang<\/em>, this marks a significant step in strengthening anti-drug operations in&nbsp;<strong>Special Region (1)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Laptu camp officially began operation on&nbsp;<strong>June 1, 2025<\/strong>, and now houses&nbsp;<strong>over 100 individuals<\/strong>&nbsp;undergoing rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The camp is managed under a&nbsp;<strong>humanitarian approach<\/strong>, prioritizing&nbsp;<strong>psychological counseling<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>skills training<\/strong>, and support for the&nbsp;<strong>physical, mental, and livelihood recovery<\/strong>&nbsp;of those undergoing treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skill development courses aimed at future livelihoods are being provided. The camp also encourages active participation in responsibilities, and&nbsp;<strong>separate accommodations<\/strong>&nbsp;are designated for&nbsp;<strong>female patients<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the facility offers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Public awareness programs<\/strong>\u00a0on the dangers of drugs,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deployment of\u00a0<strong>healthcare teams<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure safety and well-being,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily\u00a0<strong>sports and recreational activities<\/strong>\u00a0to reduce stress and improve physical resilience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Family members are allowed to&nbsp;<strong>visit on Sundays<\/strong>&nbsp;during designated times. However, bringing&nbsp;<strong>cash<\/strong>&nbsp;into the facility or delivering&nbsp;<strong>items via camp staff<\/strong>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<strong>restricted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, patients are categorized into&nbsp;<strong>two groups<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Those arrested within the region<\/strong>\u00a0must undergo\u00a0<strong>at least six months<\/strong>\u00a0of mandatory treatment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Those voluntarily sent by family members<\/strong>\u00a0have\u00a0<strong>flexible durations<\/strong>, based on their recovery progress and family wishes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the camp\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>infrastructure and equipment<\/strong>&nbsp;are fully completed, it will be capable of accommodating&nbsp;<strong>up to 200 people<\/strong>.
