Instead, the party submitted a statement outlining eight key points representing its position.

The NLD reaffirmed its belief that Myanmar’s political crisis must be resolved through political means, and expressed appreciation for ASEAN’s continued efforts based on the Five-Point Consensus. However, the NLD also emphasized that any actions by the military junta—the root cause of the crisis—should not be legitimized or cooperated with.

The party further pointed out that the military council has been attempting to exclude Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the NLD from the political process, while enacting oppressive laws that prevent citizens from expressing their free will, all in an effort to hold a sham election to produce a desired outcome.

The NLD warned that the junta’s politically motivated plan to hold a fraudulent election must be opposed, as it risks escalating the crisis and leading to more severe consequences. They stressed that without the participation of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, there can be no genuine resolution to Myanmar’s political issues.

The party reiterated its demand for the immediate release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint, and all other political prisoners, stating that their continued detention is a major barrier to progress.

They also expressed concern over the lack of access to proper healthcare for political prisoners, which has led to a series of preventable deaths, urging authorities to implement effective safeguards.

Finally, the NLD called for urgent international action to stop the military’s relentless airstrikes and killings of civilians, emphasizing the need for concrete steps to end the ongoing violence.

========================

📌📌 3.
