The Ministry of Education<\/strong> under the National Unity Government (NUG)<\/strong> has announced that donors who contribute USD 500 or more<\/strong>, or its equivalent in any currency, to the \u201cSafe Schools, Safe Education\u201d campaign<\/strong>\u2014a program designed to enable children to continue their education safely in schools that implement child protection measures\u2014will receive special certificates of honor signed by the Union Minister<\/strong> in addition to the regular certificates of appreciation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative is part of the campaign\u2019s special recognition program to acknowledge generous donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign has set a target of USD 400,000<\/strong>, and it is being carried out from July 15 to August 31, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National League for Democracy (NLD)<\/strong> has submitted its official position<\/strong> regarding the Stakeholders Engagement Meeting on Myanmar (SEM)<\/strong> to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia<\/strong>, from August 4 to 7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NLD expressed gratitude<\/strong> for the invitation to participate in the meeting, but explained that due to travel restrictions faced by party members in exile<\/strong>, they are unable to attend in person. Instead, the party submitted a statement outlining eight key points<\/strong> representing its position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NLD reaffirmed its belief that Myanmar\u2019s political crisis must be resolved through political means<\/strong>, and expressed appreciation for ASEAN\u2019s continued efforts based on the Five-Point Consensus<\/strong>. However, the NLD also emphasized that any actions by the military junta\u2014the root cause of the crisis\u2014should not be legitimized or cooperated with<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The party further pointed out that the military council has been attempting to exclude Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the NLD<\/strong> from the political process, while enacting oppressive laws that prevent citizens from expressing their free will, all in an effort to hold a sham election to produce a desired outcome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NLD warned that the junta\u2019s politically motivated plan to hold a fraudulent election<\/strong> must be opposed, as it risks escalating the crisis<\/strong> and leading to more severe consequences. They stressed that without the participation of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi<\/strong>, there can be no genuine resolution to Myanmar\u2019s political issues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The party reiterated its demand for the immediate release<\/strong> of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint<\/strong>, and all other political prisoners<\/strong>, stating that their continued detention is a major barrier to progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also expressed concern over the lack of access to proper healthcare<\/strong> for political prisoners, which has led to a series of preventable deaths<\/strong>, urging authorities to implement effective safeguards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the NLD called for urgent international action<\/strong> to stop the military\u2019s relentless airstrikes and killings of civilians<\/strong>, emphasizing the need for concrete steps to end the ongoing violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials from the Ministry of Human Rights<\/strong> under the National Unity Government (NUG)<\/strong> led a series of community-based awareness sessions<\/strong> in Sagaing Region<\/strong> throughout the month of July, according to a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These awareness campaigns were held in townships such as Yinmabin, Wuntho, and Taze<\/strong>, and aimed to inform local residents about human rights protections<\/strong>, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/strong>, women\u2019s and children\u2019s rights<\/strong>, and other critical issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sessions also included airstrike preparedness briefings<\/strong> and emergency response drills<\/strong> specifically for students, led by ministry officials to promote safety and resilience among vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The Kokang News Agency<\/strong>, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA)<\/strong> has provided free medical treatment<\/strong> to internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Naungcho, Hsipaw, and Kyaukme<\/strong> who have taken shelter in Shan Khaik Village<\/strong>, located in Theinni District<\/strong> of Special Region (1)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the guidance of the Department of Health for Special Region (1)<\/strong>, medical services were provided on July 30<\/strong> to nearly 100 displaced civilians<\/strong>, including children in poor health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medical services included blood pressure monitoring<\/strong>, diabetes screening<\/strong>, testing for hemorrhagic fever and malaria<\/strong>, as well as other necessary health examinations. In addition, required medications were distributed free of charge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was also reported that, beyond these mobile medical services, Naung Mone Hospital<\/strong> is likewise providing free treatment for displaced civilians<\/strong> on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
