Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun Continues to Report on Myanmar\u2019s Crisis to the United Nations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, the Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, has continued to submit reports on the current situation in Myanmar to UN leadership, according to an update shared by National Unity Government (NUG) Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann via his social media platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This disclosure is in relation to Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun&#8217;s recent letter, sent on July 31 to UN Secretary-General Mr. Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, detailing the ongoing human rights and humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter prominently highlighted the grave and heartbreaking circumstances in the country and included an attached report titled&nbsp;<em>Information Update on the Current Situation in Myanmar<\/em>, which contains the latest verified data up to June 30 of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, it was reported that this letter and report were also sent to the President of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, Mr. Dennis Francis, and to the permanent representatives of UN member states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report outlines in detail the Myanmar military\u2019s brutal and inhumane actions, including 532 documented human rights violations against civilians in June alone\u2014resulting in the deaths of at least 90 civilians, many due to airstrikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, since the military coup, the report states that over&nbsp;<strong>6,800 people<\/strong>&nbsp;have been killed and nearly&nbsp;<strong>30,000<\/strong>&nbsp;arrested as of June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun stressed in the letter that the international community must continue exposing the military\u2019s heinous crimes against humanity and pursue international accountability and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the National Unity Government (NUG) is the legitimate government representing the will of the people, Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun\u2019s ongoing efforts aim to amplify the voice of the Myanmar people on the international stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>2. KPPA Urges Loikaw Prison Authorities to Reopen Direct Visit Parcel System and Take Action Against Abuse of Inmates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Karenni Political Prisoners Association (KPPA) has formally called on the Loikaw Prison authorities to reinstate the&nbsp;<strong>direct-person parcel delivery system<\/strong>&nbsp;and to take disciplinary action against those responsible for&nbsp;<strong>beating prisoners without cause<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement issued today, August 3, KPPA criticized the prison\u2019s ban on inmates receiving food parcels and medications through in-person delivery, which has been in place for over a year and nine months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to these restrictions, prisoners are suffering from inadequate nutrition and medical care, with many facing chronic illnesses, skin infections, physical deterioration, and even mental health issues\u2014leading in some cases to death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KPPA\u2019s statement includes&nbsp;<strong>eight key demands<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Immediate reinstatement of the direct-person parcel delivery system;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full acceptance and delivery of food and medicine sent by families;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Timely transfer of emergency and chronically ill patients to outside hospitals;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adequate medical supplies and healthcare inside the prison;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency financial coverage by prison authorities for indigent inmates;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weekly medical checkups inside the prison;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restoration of full food rations and supplies for prisoners;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigation and punishment of prison staff extorting money from families;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An immediate halt to unlawful beatings and abuses, with accountability for perpetrators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The KPPA emphasized that these measures must be implemented without delay for the sake of prisoners\u2019 health, rights, and dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc\ud83d\udccc&nbsp;<strong>3.
