Two Junta Troops Killed in Landmine Attack on Military Convoy Guarding Monywa\u2013Mandalay Road<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A military unit deployed by the junta to secure a convoy along the&nbsp;<strong>Monywa\u2013Mandalay Road<\/strong>, in&nbsp;<strong>Chaung-U Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Monywa District<\/strong>, was hit by a landmine attack, resulting in the deaths of two junta soldiers, according to a statement from&nbsp;<strong>People\u2019s Defence Force \u2013 South Monywa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack occurred at&nbsp;<strong>3:16 PM on August 1<\/strong>, between&nbsp;<strong>Nat Yay Kan<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Yay Poe Sar<\/strong>, targeting approximately&nbsp;<strong>70 junta troops<\/strong>&nbsp;assigned to provide security. The resistance forces used&nbsp;<strong>three directional \u201cPadetha\u201d mines<\/strong>&nbsp;in the ambush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the explosion,&nbsp;<strong>two junta troops were killed on the spot<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>many others were reportedly injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the attack, the junta troops&nbsp;<strong>opened fire indiscriminately<\/strong>&nbsp;with heavy and small arms, but members of the joint resistance operation\u2014comprising&nbsp;<strong>South Monywa District Military Headquarters<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Strategic Unit 64<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>District Battalion 11 of the People\u2019s Defence Force \u2013 South Monywa<\/strong>\u2014were able to&nbsp;<strong>retreat unharmed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>2. Junta Column Loots Public Property in Kyauk-O Village, Ambushed During Withdrawal \u2014 Over 10 Casualties<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A junta column that looted&nbsp;<strong>public property<\/strong>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<strong>Kyauk-O village<\/strong>, in&nbsp;<strong>Nyaung-U Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mandalay Region<\/strong>, was ambushed by resistance forces while withdrawing, resulting in&nbsp;<strong>at least 10 junta casualties<\/strong>, according to a statement from&nbsp;<strong>Black Eagle PDF \u2013 Bagan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 31<\/strong>, a junta force\u2014over&nbsp;<strong>100 troops strong<\/strong>, including armored vehicles\u2014arrived in Kyauk-O village after departing&nbsp;<strong>Gantgaw village<\/strong>. They temporarily set up camp in Kyauk-O and reportedly looted items from civilians\u2019 homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the column departed&nbsp;<strong>Kyauk-O<\/strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>August 1<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Black Eagle PDF \u2013 Bagan<\/strong>&nbsp;carried out a&nbsp;<strong>prepared ambush<\/strong>, intercepting the junta force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the attack,&nbsp;<strong>more than 10 junta troops, including a deputy column commander<\/strong>, were killed or injured. Despite the junta responding with&nbsp;<strong>heavy and small arms fire<\/strong>, the resistance forces were able to&nbsp;<strong>withdraw safely without casualties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>3. Pyusawhti Member Shot Dead While Attempting to Escape Custody in Ywangan Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>August 1<\/strong>, in&nbsp;<strong>Myin Kya Doe village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Ywangan Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Southern Shan State<\/strong>, a member of the pro-junta&nbsp;<strong>Pyusawhti militia<\/strong>, identified as&nbsp;<strong>Kyaw Mae<\/strong>, was captured by the local&nbsp;<strong>People\u2019s Defence Force (PDF)<\/strong>&nbsp;in Ywangan. However, he was fatally shot while attempting to&nbsp;<strong>resist and escape<\/strong>&nbsp;custody during a transfer for interrogation, according to an official statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kyaw Mae was reported to be an&nbsp;<strong>aide to Win Myint<\/strong>, the Pyusawhti leader of Myin Kya Doe village. He was accused of participating in numerous crimes in southern Ywangan, including&nbsp;<strong>murders, arson attacks on homes, extortion at checkpoints, forced military conscription, and coercive fundraising from locals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although no weapons or ammunition were seized during his arrest, resistance forces reported that&nbsp;<strong>valuable intelligence<\/strong>&nbsp;concerning Pyusawhti operations was obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was also revealed that on&nbsp;<strong>the night of July 28<\/strong>, PDF forces attempted to arrest both&nbsp;<strong>Kyaw Mae and his son<\/strong>. Only Kyaw Mae was successfully apprehended, while his son escaped, reportedly still in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kyaw Mae was a&nbsp;<strong>former military serviceman<\/strong>&nbsp;and was also allegedly involved in&nbsp;<strong>gambling and drug trafficking operations<\/strong>&nbsp;run by Win Myint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Junta\u2019s Airstrikes, Artillery, and Drone Attacks in Ta\u2019ang Regions Kill 27 Civilians, Including Children, in July<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement by the&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>27 civilians including children<\/strong>&nbsp;were killed across multiple townships in&nbsp;<strong>northern Shan State<\/strong>\u2014<strong>Kyaukme<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mogok<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Naung Cho<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mongngawt<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Hsipaw<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Monglon<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Kutkai<\/strong>\u2014which are under the control of the PSLF\/TNLA, due to junta airstrikes, artillery shelling, and drone attacks throughout&nbsp;<strong>July<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the month, the junta carried out multiple attacks using&nbsp;<strong>fighter jets<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>heavy artillery<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>drones<\/strong>, which damaged&nbsp;<strong>116 civilian homes<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>two schools<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>two monasteries<\/strong>, while also injuring&nbsp;<strong>82 people<\/strong>&nbsp;in addition to the 27 fatalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Kyaukme Township<\/strong>, a&nbsp;<strong>monk was killed<\/strong>&nbsp;by a junta jet fighter bombing, along with&nbsp;<strong>three men<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>22 civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;were injured. A total of&nbsp;<strong>45 homes<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>one monastery<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>one school<\/strong>&nbsp;were also damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Naung Cho Township<\/strong>, artillery shelling, drone strikes, and jet bombing resulted in the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>four men<\/strong>, injuries to&nbsp;<strong>six civilians<\/strong>, and destruction of&nbsp;<strong>17 houses<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>a monastery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Mogok<\/strong>, although no active clashes were reported, the junta bombed civilian areas, killing&nbsp;<strong>two children<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>six men<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>one woman<\/strong>. Additionally,&nbsp;<strong>43 civilians<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>four children<\/strong>, were injured, and&nbsp;<strong>38 houses<\/strong>&nbsp;were destroyed by the blasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, in&nbsp;<strong>Hsipaw<\/strong>, an airstrike killed&nbsp;<strong>two men<\/strong>, injured&nbsp;<strong>five civilians<\/strong>, and damaged&nbsp;<strong>18 homes<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>a school<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Monglon<\/strong>, an air raid killed&nbsp;<strong>one man<\/strong>&nbsp;and destroyed&nbsp;<strong>seven houses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Kutkai Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>one child<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>four men<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>one woman<\/strong>&nbsp;were killed. Another&nbsp;<strong>seven civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;were wounded, and&nbsp;<strong>five homes<\/strong>&nbsp;were damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>5. Monk in Kyaukme Loses Leg After Stepping on Landmine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>2:30 PM on August 2<\/strong>, a&nbsp;<strong>42-year-old monk named U Nanda<\/strong>&nbsp;stepped on a landmine near&nbsp;<strong>Natsitlin Monastery<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Ward 2 of Kyaukme<\/strong>, located in northern Shan State, resulting in the&nbsp;<strong>loss of one leg<\/strong>, according to Shwe Phi Myay News Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U Nanda was transported to&nbsp;<strong>Lashio Hospital<\/strong>&nbsp;for medical treatment and is currently under care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kyaukme is under the control of the&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>. According to locals, junta troops previously stationed at&nbsp;<strong>Natsitlin Monastery<\/strong>&nbsp;may have planted the mine that injured the monk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6. KNDF Celebrates 4th Anniversary of Battalion 9 and 1st Anniversary of Battalion 606 Headquarters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>August 2<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) Battalion 9<\/strong>&nbsp;commemorated its&nbsp;<strong>4th founding anniversary<\/strong>, according to an official statement from the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event featured ceremonies such as the&nbsp;<strong>salute to the Karenni national flag<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>KNDF flag<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>tributes to fallen comrades<\/strong>, along with&nbsp;<strong>religious offerings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past four years of the revolution,&nbsp;<strong>43 fighters from Battalion 9<\/strong>&nbsp;have fallen in battle, and&nbsp;<strong>18 others have sustained major injuries<\/strong>, the group confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Separately,&nbsp;<strong>KNDF Battalion 606 Headquarters<\/strong>&nbsp;marked its&nbsp;<strong>1st anniversary<\/strong>&nbsp;with a morale-building graduation ceremony for a training course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>August 1 celebration<\/strong>&nbsp;included a&nbsp;<strong>flag-raising<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>tribute to fallen martyrs<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>oaths of allegiance<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>opening prayers<\/strong>. Speeches were delivered by KNDF&nbsp;<strong>strategic and departmental leaders<\/strong>, as well as&nbsp;<strong>the battalion and deputy commanders<\/strong>. Deputy Battalion Commander of Yinmarbin District Battalion 6 Killed in Zee Phyu Kone Pyu Village Battle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the battle that occurred in&nbsp;<strong>Zee Phyu Kone Pyu village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Pale Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Yinmarbin District<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Sagaing Region<\/strong>, Deputy Battalion Commander&nbsp;<strong>U Kan<\/strong>&nbsp;(also known as&nbsp;<strong>Bo Sit Mhone<\/strong>) of&nbsp;<strong>Battalion 6, Yinmarbin District<\/strong>&nbsp;was killed, according to an official statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clash took place on&nbsp;<strong>July 30<\/strong>, during which a&nbsp;<strong>junta-fired heavy weapon<\/strong>&nbsp;struck the unit.&nbsp;<strong>Bo Sit Mhone<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>three other resistance fighters<\/strong>&nbsp;lost their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the shelling, fellow resistance members were able to&nbsp;<strong>recover his body while under fire<\/strong>&nbsp;and evacuate it from the battlefield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some resistance members were also wounded and are currently receiving medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>funerals<\/strong>&nbsp;for the fallen were held on&nbsp;<strong>August 1<\/strong>. Junta Corporal Defects to Resistance in Monywa with Weapon and Ammunition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 2<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A junta&nbsp;<strong>corporal stationed at a security outpost<\/strong>&nbsp;along the&nbsp;<strong>Monywa\u2013Mandalay Road<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Monywa Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Sagaing Region<\/strong>, defected to the resistance with his weapon, according to&nbsp;<strong>Urban Hunter Force (UHF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 28<\/strong>, the corporal contacted&nbsp;<strong>UHF (People&#8217;s Defence Force)<\/strong>&nbsp;and surrendered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He brought with him an&nbsp;<strong>MA-3 rifle<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>two magazines<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>forty rounds of 5.56mm ammunition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recognition of his defection, he was awarded&nbsp;<strong>400,000 Kyat<\/strong>&nbsp;in honorarium.
