Ensuring Children’s Right to Education Amid Military Suppression Urged as Vital Step to Counter Junta’s Destruction of the Education System

August 2
Radio NUG

The Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government (NUG) has stated that the terrorist military junta deliberately obstructs access to education for the public and seeks to oppress and control future generations. To resist this oppressive strategy, it is now crucial to grant children access to education and the right to live.

“Some people say children should only go back to school after the revolution. But you can’t dig a well and immediately expect to drink clear water. While new technologies emerge, if the country collapses in the meantime, we’ll have to rebuild from scratch. It’s unrealistic to think that we can just wait for the revolution to end and then swiftly produce well-educated generations through technology alone,” the ministry stated.

The ministry further emphasized the importance of providing children with the right to education and creating a safe educational environment to counter the junta’s destruction of the education system. It warned that failure to provide education at this time could result in the emergence of a cruel and violent future generation.

“Let us protect and nurture children who are eager to learn as if they were our own. Let us guarantee their right to life, their right to education, and their right to dream of a better future,” the Ministry of Education of the NUG urged.

The ministry also called on the public to prioritize the protection of children’s education in the collective effort to rebuild the nation and to work together to ensure a better future for the next generation.

========================

📌📌 2.
