The Complaint Mechanism Department under the Ministry of Labour of the National Unity Government (NUG) has announced that it assisted in resolving a case in which a Myanmar national was physically assaulted by a Thai citizen in Pathum Thani Province, Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred on January 1, 2025, near Pathum Hospital in Pathum Thani and has recently gone viral on social media. A Myanmar migrant worker, who was a victim of the assault, sought assistance from the Myanmar Health Assistance Consortium (MHAC) to obtain justice and emotional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 27, representatives went to meet the victim in person to offer comfort and support. Subsequently, with the help of the employer, the case was officially reported on July 29<\/strong> at the Mueang Pathum Thani Provincial Police Station<\/strong>. The complaint was jointly filed by the NUG Ministry of Labour, MHAC, and the employer\u2019s legal counsel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Thai perpetrator confessed to the offense in front of local police authorities and formally apologized to the victim. In line with the victim\u2019s wishes, the perpetrator paid compensation of 50,000 Thai Baht<\/strong> and signed an agreement promising not to cause further harm. Additionally, the Thai offender pledged to issue an apology through online channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intervention successfully brought the case to a peaceful resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dagon University Students\u2019 Union announced on July 30 that student Khu Oo Yay Aung<\/strong> has been posthumously awarded the Student Martyr<\/strong> title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khu Oo Yay Aung was a valiant fighter who lost his life during the battle to seize Base 134 under the junta\u2019s 13th Military Operations Command in Pharsong Township<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 27<\/strong>, the union had also awarded the Student Martyr<\/strong> title to Ma Wut Yay Aung<\/strong>, a former member of the Central Executive Committee of the Dagon University Students\u2019 Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Township People’s Administrative Council of Launglon Township<\/strong>, located in Tanintharyi Region<\/strong>, announced today (July 30) the expansion and reorganization of the Township People\u2019s Security Force<\/strong> to further strengthen rule of law and ensure local security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This expansion was carried out in accordance with Interim Order No. 2\/2025 issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration of the National Unity Government (NUG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly expanded security force is intended to work collaboratively with other responsible bodies and revolutionary forces to enforce the rule of law and safeguard local communities in Launglon Township, which is part of Dawei District<\/strong> in Tanintharyi Region. Members have already been assigned and deployed accordingly, the Township People\u2019s Administrative Council stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to continuous heavy rainfall in recent days, Myawaddy Township in Kayin State is experiencing flooding. The water level of the Thaungyin River has risen approximately 12.5 feet above the danger level<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since yesterday, the Thaungyin River has surged rapidly, and today the town of Myawaddy is inundated in multiple areas. Low-lying neighborhoods are experiencing water intrusion, forcing local residents to evacuate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One local resident reported that Bridge No.1 (Friendship Bridge)<\/strong> and the town center are submerged, and many low-lying areas are already under water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of 9:00 AM today<\/strong>, the water level of the Thaungyin River had reached 1,350 centimeters<\/strong>, and locals anticipate further rise. The danger level for the Thaungyin River in Myawaddy is 963 centimeters<\/strong>, so the current level exceeds that by 367 centimeters (approximately 12 feet 6 inches)<\/strong>, causing significant concern among residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first instance of flooding in Myawaddy this month occurred on July 23 and 24<\/strong>, during which the river peaked at about 13 feet and 2 inches above<\/strong> the danger level, as per a resident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flooding and flash floods are affecting both sides of the Myanmar\u2013Thailand border<\/strong>, including Myawaddy and Mae Sot on the Thai side<\/strong>, where the Thaungyin River is also rising, causing floods and road collapses, according to local reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Goal<\/strong> organization has reported that during the month of July, it provided a total of 63,000 Thai Baht<\/strong> in support to members of the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM)<\/strong>, including soldiers and police officers who have joined the movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, they provided 1,500 Baht each<\/strong> to a total of 41 female CDM members and their families<\/strong>, including 5 female soldiers<\/strong> and 36 female police officers<\/strong>. This aid also included support for childbirth expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to limited funds, recipients were carefully selected based on their involvement in research programs and revolutionary activities<\/strong>, as confirmed by the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the group provided 1 million Kyats<\/strong> to the family of a female CDM police officer in Gangaw Region<\/strong>, who had been arrested and killed<\/strong> by the military council\u2019s forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
