Emergency Aid Needed in Rakhine Due to Widespread Flooding from Heavy Rainfall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Humanitarian and Development Coordination Office (HDCO)<\/strong>&nbsp;has issued a report stating that continuous&nbsp;<strong>heavy rainfall since late June 2025<\/strong>&nbsp;has caused&nbsp;<strong>widespread flooding and water overflow<\/strong>&nbsp;in various townships across&nbsp;<strong>Rakhine State<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>Taungup, Mrauk-U, Minbya, Kyauk Taw, Pauktaw, Rathedaung, Buthidaung, and Maungdaw<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the HDCO, the floods have resulted in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Destruction of\u00a0<strong>homes<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Damage to\u00a0<strong>paddy fields<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Destruction of\u00a0<strong>roads and bridges<\/strong>, causing\u00a0<strong>transportation blockages<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reports of\u00a0<strong>casualties<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>HDCO teams have been deployed to the affected areas to provide&nbsp;<strong>emergency assistance<\/strong>&nbsp;and gather information about the situation. Based on collected data,&nbsp;<strong>3,461 households<\/strong>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<strong>90 villages<\/strong>, totaling&nbsp;<strong>12,249 individuals<\/strong>, have been affected and displaced, some of whom are now staying in&nbsp;<strong>temporary shelters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the&nbsp;<strong>inaccessibility of many flooded areas<\/strong>, delivery of assistance has been severely limited. Unidentified Male Body Found Near Gas Pipeline in Kalain Aung, Near Military Battalion (282)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 22<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Union (KNU)<\/strong>&nbsp;released a statement reporting that an&nbsp;<strong>unidentified male body<\/strong>&nbsp;was discovered by locals near a&nbsp;<strong>gas pipeline<\/strong>&nbsp;close to the territory of the&nbsp;<strong>Myanmar military&#8217;s Battalion 282<\/strong>, located in&nbsp;<strong>Kalain Aung<\/strong>, part of the&nbsp;<strong>Tharwa Khee village tract<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Launglon Township<\/strong>, within the&nbsp;<strong>Myeik-Tavoy District<\/strong>&nbsp;under KNU-controlled territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The body was found approximately&nbsp;<strong>2,000 meters<\/strong>&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<strong>rear command post of Battalion 282<\/strong>, within a&nbsp;<strong>military-secured zone<\/strong>. It was also noted that&nbsp;<strong>junta troops had been active just 500 meters away<\/strong>&nbsp;from where the body was found, about&nbsp;<strong>two days prior<\/strong>&nbsp;to its discovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local sources suspect that junta troops had&nbsp;<strong>detained a villager they deemed suspicious<\/strong>, and that the&nbsp;<strong>brutal killing of an innocent civilian<\/strong>&nbsp;may have resulted from this interrogation. At present, community members are continuing to investigate to determine&nbsp;<strong>the identity of the deceased man<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>which village he belonged to<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the&nbsp;<strong>tense military situation<\/strong>&nbsp;in the region, locals are being&nbsp;<strong>strongly advised to exercise extreme caution<\/strong>&nbsp;in their daily activities, movements, and interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>6. Four Drug Users and Two Drug Dealers Arrested by Ta&#8217;ang National Police Force in Kyaukme and Namhsan Townships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Ta\u2019ang National Police Force<\/strong>, under the&nbsp;<strong>Palaung State Liberation Front \/ Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (PSLF\/TNLA)<\/strong>, announced the arrest of&nbsp;<strong>four male drug users and two drug dealers<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Kyaukme<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Namhsan<\/strong>&nbsp;Townships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On\u00a0<strong>July 20 at around 3:30 PM<\/strong>, during a\u00a0<strong>surprise inspection<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>Kyaukme town<\/strong>, police arrested\u00a0<strong>U Han Nu<\/strong>, a\u00a0<strong>61-year-old drug dealer<\/strong>, in possession of:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>139 yaba pills (methamphetamine)<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cash totaling MMK 1,010,000<\/strong>\u00a0(approx.
