The Myanmar military junta<\/strong> carried out another aerial bombing on Hsipaw town<\/strong>, which is under the control of the Ta\u2019ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)<\/strong>, at 12:05 a.m.<\/strong> on the night of July 22<\/strong>, dropping a 500-pound bomb<\/strong>, according to a statement released by TNLA<\/strong> on July 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airstrike targeted the area of the former military base of Infantry Battalion 23<\/strong>, using a jet fighter<\/strong>, and reportedly caused damage to a hall<\/strong> within the abandoned compound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to local sources, the junta appears to have deliberately bombed a structure located in their former base<\/strong>, confirming visible destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TNLA\u2019s Information and Public Relations Department<\/strong> also reported that this is not the first attack: On July 19<\/strong>, the same site\u2014Infantry Battalion 23\u2014was bombed using a 250-pound bomb<\/strong> dropped from a jet fighter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The military junta<\/strong> had also carried out three consecutive airstrikes<\/strong> targeting civilian populations<\/strong> in Hsipaw on July 4, July 14, and July 19<\/strong>, resulting in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 civilian deaths<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 civilians injured<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destruction of 13 homes<\/strong>, 6 buildings<\/strong>, and school dormitories<\/strong> at one school<\/strong>, according to TNLA records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the intentional targeting of civilians<\/strong>, TNLA has been frequently issuing public warnings<\/strong>, urging local populations to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region<\/strong>, a resistance group attacked junta soldiers stationed at the Nyaung Pin Thar Agricultural School<\/strong> while they were leaving on motorbikes<\/strong>, resulting in approximately four soldiers killed<\/strong> and weapons seized<\/strong>, according to Shwebo District Battalion 4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred at around 6:30 a.m.<\/strong> on July 22<\/strong>, when six junta soldiers<\/strong> stationed at the school departed on three motorbikes<\/strong> along the Shwebo\u2013Ye U road<\/strong>. Resistance fighters from Battalion 4 ambushed them<\/strong> as they left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result of the ambush included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 22<\/strong>, a coalition of resistance forces launched an attack on a junta outpost<\/strong> located about 200 meters<\/strong> from the Htine Shu Police Station<\/strong> in Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State<\/strong>, resulting in 3 junta soldiers killed<\/strong>, according to a joint statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack was conducted by forces under the Defense Department of the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC)<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ye People\u2019s Defense Force (YPDF)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In coordination with KNLA Battalion 27, Company 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ambush began at 11:20 a.m.<\/strong> on July 22<\/strong> and ended by 11:30 a.m.<\/strong>, with the joint resistance forces retreating safely without casualties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casualties on the junta side included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 police officers killed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 junta soldiers killed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least 3 others seriously injured<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks a coordinated effort<\/strong> between the Mon and Karen ethnic armed organizations and local People\u2019s Defense Forces, showing continued collaboration in the armed resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Launglon Township, three junta soldiers were killed<\/strong> during an attack on military vessels looting civilian-owned boats<\/strong> near Kanyonekyun Village<\/strong> in Tavoy (Dawei) Township<\/strong>, located in Tanintharyi Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 12 at around 10:00 a.m.<\/strong>, two military vessels and one speedboat<\/strong> approached the eastern side of Kanyonekyun Village via the Tavoy River<\/strong>. Upon arrival, they opened fire<\/strong> into the village using heavy artillery, 20mm automatic guns<\/strong>, and other mounted weapons. Shortly afterward, they reportedly seized small civilian boats<\/strong> docked along the riverbank using a speedboat landing craft<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resistance fighters witnessed the looting and initiated an ambush attack<\/strong>, successfully damaging the speedboat<\/strong> and killing three soldiers<\/strong>, with one more sustaining serious injuries<\/strong>, according to PDF Launglon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the clash, the junta vessels returned fire with heavy weaponry<\/strong>, but all resistance fighters withdrew safely<\/strong> without casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A group of military naval vessels<\/strong>, which had docked near Ngachangdaung Village<\/strong> in Thabeikkyin Township<\/strong>, Mandalay Region<\/strong>, is reportedly continuing upstream movement<\/strong> toward Htigyaing Township<\/strong>, prompting urgent warnings<\/strong> from resistance forces for local civilians to remain cautious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to resistance fighters, the naval flotilla may arrive in Htigyaing by today, July 23<\/strong>, and residents are urged to take shelter or evacuate as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This flotilla is believed to be part of a military convoy heading toward Bhamo (Banmaw) in Kachin State<\/strong>, according to resistance forces stationed within Htigyaing Township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fleet, consisting of 17 military vessels<\/strong>, had departed Gawun Port in Mandalay<\/strong> and is advancing along the Irrawaddy River<\/strong>. Despite being previously attacked by joint resistance forces in Thabeikkyin Township, the flotilla continues its upstream journey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 22<\/strong>, the National Unity Government\u2019s Ministry of Defense<\/strong> released a statement saying that during one such ambush by the Irrawaddy Joint Resistance Naval Task Force<\/strong>, one military vessel was sunk<\/strong>, and several others were damaged by fire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of the approaching flotilla, the People\u2019s Defense Force Battalion 1 of Banmaw District<\/strong> issued an emergency alert<\/strong>, urging civilians living along the riverbanks in Banmaw District<\/strong> to relocate immediately<\/strong> to safer areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Banmaw PDF<\/strong> also warned civilians to avoid riverside travel<\/strong>, public gatherings<\/strong>, and crowded events<\/strong>, as clashes may escalate due to potential joint air and river assaults<\/strong> accompanying the naval advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commander of the Zero Panther Guerrilla Force<\/strong>, Ko Thet Gyi<\/strong>, announced on July 22<\/strong> via his official Facebook page<\/strong> that he had met with General Gun Maw<\/strong> of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He shared the following message about the meeting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was an unforgettable encounter to have been received by General Gun Maw. His willingness to meet with me felt like a recognition of the role that young people from Myingyan<\/strong> have played in the Spring Revolution. I was deeply honored to represent Myingyan in that moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Gun Maw also gently reminded us that \u2018Politics cannot be rushed with hasty words,\u2019<\/strong> a phrase that left a lasting impression on me. Thank you for everything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to meeting General Gun Maw, Ko Thet Gyi<\/strong> also held discussions with Dr. Zaw Wai Soe<\/strong>, the Minister for Education and Health<\/strong> under the National Unity Government (NUG)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 7. Total Death Toll from the Spring Revolution Reaches 6,976 Due to the Brutal Military Junta and Its Allies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)<\/strong>, a total of 6,976 democracy activists and civilians<\/strong> have been killed<\/strong> during the Spring Revolution as a result of violence by the military junta and its affiliates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This figure spans the period from February 1, 2021<\/strong>\u2014the day the junta unlawfully seized power\u2014until July 21, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the death toll:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 29,410 people<\/strong> have been arrested<\/strong> in connection with the coup and the revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of these, 22,188 individuals<\/strong> are still being detained<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the detainees, 10,888 people<\/strong> have already been sentenced to prison terms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
