Today, on July 19<\/strong>, which marks the 78th Martyrs\u2019 Day<\/strong>, the military junta<\/strong> carried out airstrikes on villages in Myeikmu, Pulaw Township, Tanintharyi Region<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 10:30 AM today<\/strong>, a jet fighter<\/strong> from the Myeik Air Base<\/strong> dropped bombs and fired machine guns near Myeikmu Village<\/strong>, part of the Zarap Seik village tract in Pulaw Township<\/strong>, according to an initial report released by People\u2019s Defense Force Battalion No. 1 of Myeik District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the attack, at least four innocent civilians<\/strong> were reportedly killed, and three houses were destroyed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities are still verifying the type of aircraft<\/strong> used in the strike, and more detailed information will be released<\/strong>, according to the Information and Communications Team of Battalion No. 1, Myeik District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is reported that no clashes were occurring and no PDF forces were present<\/strong> in the targeted area\u2014a peaceful civilian zone<\/strong>\u2014when the military junta launched the airstrike without provocation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, around 11:00 AM today (July 19)<\/strong>, a jet fighter from Meiktila Air Base<\/strong> launched an airstrike<\/strong> near Pinzin Village<\/strong> in the western part of Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region<\/strong>, according to Wetlet Information Network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 2. Three Villagers Killed by Junta Shelling in Eastern Perimeter of Pelkhon Lake; One Man Killed by Landmine in Nanmaekhon Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 18<\/strong>, around 12:00 noon<\/strong>, the military council<\/strong> launched heavy artillery fire on three villages on the eastern side of Pelkhon Lake<\/strong>, located in the Shan-Karenni border area<\/strong>. According to KPV News<\/strong>, three civilians were killed<\/strong> and three others were injured<\/strong> in the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These villages had already been hosting thousands of internally displaced people (IDPs)<\/strong> since June 2<\/strong>, due to joint military operations by the junta and the PNO militia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the junta took control of Mobye town on July 2<\/strong>, they have secured and blocked the main Pelkhon\u2013Mobye\u2013Loikaw highway<\/strong>, causing the eastern lakeside communities to be isolated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, on July 17<\/strong>, around 10:00 AM<\/strong>, one man<\/strong> from Nanmaekhon Township<\/strong> was killed by a landmine<\/strong> while foraging for bamboo shoots on Sintee Hill<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That hill is reportedly an area previously occupied by junta troops<\/strong>, and although the injured man was transported to a clinic, he died from his injuries<\/strong>, according to local reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 3. Civilians Living Near Junta Bases in Myeik District Urged to Stay Vigilant and Exercise Caution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Defense Force Battalion No. 1 of Myeik District<\/strong> issued a public advisory<\/strong> today, July 19<\/strong>, urging residents living near junta military bases in Myeik Township, Tanintharyi Region<\/strong> to remain vigilant and take necessary safety precautions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also advised civilians to avoid areas near junta camps and checkpoints<\/strong> as much as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The warning comes in light of planned offensives<\/strong> by allied resistance forces<\/strong>, including attacks on junta troops and their informants<\/strong>, according to the PDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During these upcoming operations, if junta troops are present in the vicinity, civilians are urged to avoid panic<\/strong>, take cover in safe shelters<\/strong>, and remain as secure as possible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PDF also encouraged people to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dig proper bomb shelters<\/strong> near their homes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safely store important documents and valuables<\/strong> in case of emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9 4. Military Junta Bombs Former CDF-Matupi B-2 Headquarters for the First Time in Over Three Years<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 17<\/strong>, the military junta<\/strong> carried out an airstrike<\/strong> on the former headquarters of CDF-Matupi B-2<\/strong>, marking the first aerial attack on the site in over three years<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although damage and casualties were reported<\/strong>, specific details on the extent of the destruction or any fatalities<\/strong> remain unconfirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the 2021 coup<\/strong>, the Matupi region has seen various ground battles and control shifts<\/strong>, but airstrikes by the junta in this area have been rare<\/strong> until now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The timing of the attack coincides with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chin Brotherhood (CB) forces preparing to capture Tedim town<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internal conflict between CNA and CNO\/CNDF<\/strong>, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent control of CDF-Matupi B-2 (affiliated with CNA) by MRO\/CDF-Matupi (a CB member group)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to M2TV Channel<\/strong>, the entire town of Matupi<\/strong> was taken over by MRO\/CDF-Matupi under the Chin Brotherhood (CB)<\/strong> on July 10<\/strong>, after wresting control from CDF-Matupi B2 (CNA-affiliated)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that the junta airstruck a Chin Brotherhood-controlled area<\/strong>, which had been free of junta presence, using a 500-pound bomb<\/strong>, has raised suspicions and criticism<\/strong>, with many questioning the true motive behind the strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
