Two Consecutive Days of Attacks on Junta Column in Natmauk Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Natmauk Township, Magway Region, a joint column of junta troops, police, and Pyu Saw Htee militia was attacked for two consecutive days, according to a statement from the Nga Pyae Ma Pyaung Kyarr resistance group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 17<\/strong>, the column of approximately&nbsp;<strong>150 troops<\/strong>&nbsp;was ambushed near&nbsp;<strong>Butaung and Bataung<\/strong>, between&nbsp;<strong>Kanpyo village and Kwin Gyi village<\/strong>, using&nbsp;<strong>60mm and 40mm mortars<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>.30-06 rifles<\/strong>, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the following day,&nbsp;<strong>July 18<\/strong>, another clash broke out between the junta forces and allied revolutionary forces near&nbsp;<strong>Thamone Kone Gyi village and Kular Shin village<\/strong>. Bomb Attack on Junta Bunker Gate Near Clock Tower in Taungtha Leaves One Police Officer Dead, Two Injured<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>2:30 PM on July 18<\/strong>, a bomb was thrown at a junta security&nbsp;<strong>bunker gate<\/strong>&nbsp;near the&nbsp;<strong>Clock Tower in Taungtha Town<\/strong>, targeting a military checkpoint guarding an economic bank, according to the&nbsp;<strong>Taungtha People\u2019s Defense Force<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was carried out as a covert resistance mission. The explosion resulted in the&nbsp;<strong>death of one police officer<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>serious injuries to two others<\/strong>. All revolutionary fighters were reportedly&nbsp;<strong>able to retreat safely without harm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9&nbsp;<strong>4. Four Hostages and One Monk Rescued from Junta Custody in Ayadaw Township<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Ayadaw Township<\/strong>, Sagaing Region,&nbsp;<strong>four local hostages<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>one Buddhist monk<\/strong>&nbsp;who had been detained by junta forces were successfully rescued, according to a statement by the&nbsp;<strong>Pa Ka Pha of Budalin Township<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>10:00 a.m. on July 17<\/strong>, joint People\u2019s Defense Forces launched an attack on two junta units stationed with around&nbsp;<strong>100 troops<\/strong>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<strong>Myay Nat village&#8217;s monastery and nunnery<\/strong>. The clash reportedly ended around&nbsp;<strong>5:00 p.m.<\/strong>&nbsp;that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the battle, junta forces sustained significant casualties and&nbsp;<strong>retreated to Ngwe Dwin Pyu village<\/strong>, abandoning the&nbsp;<strong>four civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>one monk<\/strong>&nbsp;they had previously detained as hostages, who were then rescued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was noted that the junta troops had been stationed at the monastery and nunnery for&nbsp;<strong>about three days<\/strong>, and the revolutionary forces were able to&nbsp;<strong>reclaim control<\/strong>&nbsp;of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the rescued hostages, junta troops suffered&nbsp;<strong>heavy losses<\/strong>, leading to their withdrawal. Junta Arbitrarily Detains Civilians on Shopping Trips in Nyaunglebin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement by the&nbsp;<strong>Karen National Union (KNU)<\/strong>, three civilians traveling to&nbsp;<strong>Nyaunglebin Town<\/strong>&nbsp;for market purposes were&nbsp;<strong>arbitrarily detained<\/strong>&nbsp;by junta troops in&nbsp;<strong>Bago Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 4<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Naing Lin Htun (aka Kyet Ko Lar, age 35)<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>U San Lwin (age 53)<\/strong>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<strong>Inn Nat village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Letdo Township<\/strong>, were arrested by junta soldiers while transporting goods to the market in Nyaunglebin. Their families have had&nbsp;<strong>no contact<\/strong>&nbsp;with them since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, on&nbsp;<strong>July 12<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Saw Aung Myint Lay (age 31)<\/strong>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<strong>Boepaisa village<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Sawhti Township<\/strong>, was arrested at&nbsp;<strong>Thatu Bridge<\/strong>&nbsp;by junta\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Light Infantry Battalion 20<\/strong>&nbsp;while heading to Nyaunglebin for shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, on&nbsp;<strong>July 10<\/strong>, junta troops launched a&nbsp;<strong>drone strike using a heavy weapon<\/strong>&nbsp;on a location housing&nbsp;<strong>internally displaced persons from Lelwaingyi village<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 11<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>junta troops based in Kyauk Tan Khar Town<\/strong>&nbsp;fired&nbsp;<strong>three artillery shells<\/strong>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<strong>Chway Ta Le village<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>one shell<\/strong>&nbsp;toward the western part of&nbsp;<strong>Kholon village<\/strong>. Man Killed by Landmine and Five Civilians Injured by Artillery in Hpakant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Kachin State<\/strong>, near the&nbsp;<strong>Hpakant\u2013Seik Mu road<\/strong>, a man collecting jade was&nbsp;<strong>killed by a landmine<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>five civilians<\/strong>&nbsp;were injured by&nbsp;<strong>artillery shelling<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>1:30 p.m. on July 18<\/strong>, two jade pickers encountered a landmine near the entrance of the&nbsp;<strong>Ever Winner Company<\/strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Yuma village<\/strong>. One of them was killed. His identity has not yet been confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports suggest junta troops were stationed inside the company compound, though this has not been independently verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>4:00 p.m.<\/strong>, an artillery shell&nbsp;<strong>exploded<\/strong>&nbsp;near the road junction between&nbsp;<strong>Hpakant High School<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Byuha Hill<\/strong>, and the&nbsp;<strong>police station<\/strong>, injuring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>One woman selling ice cream<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two women from a sports equipment shop<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two men riding a motorcycle<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At around&nbsp;<strong>5:40 p.m.<\/strong>&nbsp;the same evening, junta forces reportedly carried out&nbsp;<strong>an aerial bombing raid on Hpakant Town<\/strong>.
