Military Naval Convoy Ascending the Irrawaddy River Bombards Villages in Singu and Wetlet Townships with Heavy Artillery<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A military naval convoy ascending the Irrawaddy River fired continuous artillery, including point-defense weapons and heavy arms, at villages along the river in Singu and Wetlet Townships of Mandalay Region, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fleet consisted of&nbsp;<strong>5 attack vessels<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>7 support\/logistics boats<\/strong>, and had anchored on the eastern bank of Wetlet Township near&nbsp;<strong>Kyauk Hcha<\/strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>July 17<\/strong>&nbsp;before continuing upstream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before proceeding further, at around&nbsp;<strong>7:45 AM today (July 18)<\/strong>, the fleet fired indiscriminately with point-defense weapons into the surrounding areas and then moved on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the fleet proceeded, a&nbsp;<strong>Y-12 aircraft<\/strong>&nbsp;was seen flying from Tada-U, conducting bombing runs along the river. Simultaneously, weapons\u2014both heavy and light\u2014were fired from the vessels at nearby villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday afternoon (July 17), as the fleet passed through Wetlet Township,&nbsp;<strong>airstrikes were conducted<\/strong>&nbsp;by military aircraft on&nbsp;<strong>Yelaymaw, Shar Kwe, and Ngapatchaung<\/strong>&nbsp;villages, killing&nbsp;<strong>15 civilians<\/strong>, according to local news reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This morning (July 18) at around&nbsp;<strong>7 AM<\/strong>, another&nbsp;<strong>Y-12 aircraft<\/strong>&nbsp;from Tada-U dropped bombs on&nbsp;<strong>Yelaymaw Village<\/strong>&nbsp;in Wetlet Township, and also conducted aerial attacks on&nbsp;<strong>Htone Gyi Village<\/strong>&nbsp;in Singu Township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;2. Airstrikes Carried Out Near Kyaukme Without Any Ongoing Battle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite no active fighting near&nbsp;<strong>Kyaukme<\/strong>, a town in northern&nbsp;<strong>Shan State<\/strong>, the military carried out airstrikes again at around&nbsp;<strong>10 AM<\/strong>&nbsp;today (July 18), according to local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack targeted&nbsp;<strong>Kyu Shaw Myauk Village<\/strong>, where&nbsp;<strong>three bombs<\/strong>&nbsp;were dropped from&nbsp;<strong>fighter jets<\/strong>, according to a local source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result,&nbsp;<strong>three houses were hit<\/strong>\u2014one completely destroyed\u2014and an&nbsp;<strong>elderly civilian was injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents note that casualties were low because people were out picking tea leaves at the time. Mobile Clinic Head Killed by Military Gunfire in Karenni While Providing Healthcare<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;<strong>mobile clinic coordinator<\/strong>&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<strong>Karenni Mobile Health Committee (KnMHC)<\/strong>&nbsp;was killed by gunfire from the&nbsp;<strong>military junta<\/strong>&nbsp;while delivering healthcare services in local communities, according to a statement from the&nbsp;<strong>Ministry of Health under the National Unity Government (NUG).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim,&nbsp;<strong>Soe Reh<\/strong>, aged&nbsp;<strong>26<\/strong>, was conducting field healthcare activities for locals on&nbsp;<strong>July 14<\/strong>&nbsp;when he was fatally shot by junta troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soe Reh had completed a&nbsp;<strong>one-year Medic training course<\/strong>&nbsp;with KnMHC in&nbsp;<strong>August 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NUG&#8217;s Ministry of Health recognized&nbsp;<strong>Soe Reh as a martyr and national hero<\/strong>, stating their shared grief with his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the coup, junta violence has led to the deaths of&nbsp;<strong>133 healthcare workers<\/strong>, including those participating in the&nbsp;<strong>Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM)<\/strong>, and left&nbsp;<strong>135 others injured<\/strong>, according to NUG records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;4.
