Intense Fighting Continues in Naung Cho Town; PSLF\/TNLA Civil Administration Relocates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 16<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Naung Cho<\/strong>, a town in northern&nbsp;<strong>Shan State<\/strong>&nbsp;under the control of the&nbsp;<strong>Ta&#8217;ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)<\/strong>, intense fighting continues, and civil administrative functions have become increasingly difficult to maintain. As a result,&nbsp;<strong>PSLF\/TNLA<\/strong>&nbsp;(the political wing of the TNLA) has announced the&nbsp;<strong>relocation of its civil administration offices<\/strong>&nbsp;to safer areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since&nbsp;<strong>May 2025<\/strong>, the military junta has launched&nbsp;<strong>full-scale attacks<\/strong>&nbsp;on Naung Cho town and surrounding villages. These operations include&nbsp;<strong>heavy ground assaults<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>airstrikes<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>artillery bombardments<\/strong>, and the use of&nbsp;<strong>chemical gas bombs<\/strong>\u2014reportedly conducted on a&nbsp;<strong>daily basis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The junta has not limited its attacks to active combat zones; they have also&nbsp;<strong>deliberately targeted civilian areas<\/strong>&nbsp;with air and artillery strikes, causing mass displacement. Civilians have been&nbsp;<strong>fleeing to nearby towns<\/strong>&nbsp;to escape the violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From&nbsp;<strong>May to July 15, 2025<\/strong>, junta attacks\u2014<strong>intentionally directed at civilians<\/strong>\u2014have killed&nbsp;<strong>23 people<\/strong>&nbsp;and injured&nbsp;<strong>88<\/strong>&nbsp;in towns including&nbsp;<strong>Kyaukme<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Naung Cho<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Hsipaw<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mogok<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Mongngawt<\/strong>. The assaults have also damaged or destroyed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>8 religious buildings<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>8 schools<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>220 homes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically in&nbsp;<strong>Naung Cho<\/strong>, from May to July 15, there were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>391 clashes<\/strong>\u00a0between TNLA and junta forces<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>106 airstrikes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>162 drone attacks<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>4,692 artillery strikes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>186 chemical gas bomb incidents<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Fighting is ongoing as of today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TNLA urges civilians in conflict zones to&nbsp;<strong>remain vigilant<\/strong>, avoid getting trapped during clashes, and follow&nbsp;<strong>airstrike safety guidelines<\/strong>. PDF Forces Raid Pyusawhti Camp in Myin Chan Where Members Were Using Drugs \u2014 2 Pyusawhti Killed, Weapons Seized<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 16<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Myin Chan Township<\/strong>, Mandalay Region, a&nbsp;<strong>Pyusawhti camp<\/strong>&nbsp;located in&nbsp;<strong>Let Thit Village<\/strong>&nbsp;was raided by resistance forces, resulting in&nbsp;<strong>two Pyusawhti members killed<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>seizure of military supplies<\/strong>, according to a report by&nbsp;<strong>Bo Mike Khae<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>July 16 at around 12:00 PM<\/strong>, resistance fighters stormed the Pyusawhti base where&nbsp;<strong>10 members<\/strong>&nbsp;were reportedly&nbsp;<strong>using narcotic drugs<\/strong>. During the operation, a firefight broke out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the clash,&nbsp;<strong>2 Pyusawhti members were killed<\/strong>, and the following items were seized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2 hand grenades<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2 magazines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1 box of military supplies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resistance force reportedly&nbsp;<strong>withdrew safely without casualties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, during the operation, resistance fighters&nbsp;<strong>fired upon a vehicle<\/strong>&nbsp;departing from Myin Chan Town that was believed to be transporting reinforcements or supplies. After completing training, he was forcibly deployed to the frontlines under&nbsp;<strong>IB 117 in Hpa-an<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He revealed that he had&nbsp;<strong>long harbored hatred toward the junta<\/strong>, and criticized the&nbsp;<strong>forced conscription of youth<\/strong>, stating that&nbsp;<strong>even parents oppose it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The defectors urged fellow soldiers still within the military to&nbsp;<strong>lay down their arms and join the revolution<\/strong>, abandoning support for the&nbsp;<strong>military council<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>========================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea9\ud83d\udea9<strong>&nbsp;5. Two Junta Soldiers from Paungde Town Defect to PDF with Weapons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>July 16<\/strong><br><strong>Radio NUG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two soldiers from the&nbsp;<strong>53rd Light Infantry Battalion (LIB 53)<\/strong>&nbsp;based in&nbsp;<strong>Paungde Township<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Pyi District<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Bago Region<\/strong>, defected to the&nbsp;<strong>People\u2019s Defense Forces (PDF)<\/strong>&nbsp;under&nbsp;<strong>Battalion 3601<\/strong>, part of&nbsp;<strong>Strategic Command 21<\/strong>, according to a formal statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>defection occurred on July 9<\/strong>, and the two soldiers brought with them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1 MA-4 rifle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1 MA-3 rifle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>384 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16 40mm grenades<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1 hand grenade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8 magazines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon arrival, the two defectors were provided with&nbsp;<strong>full medical care<\/strong>&nbsp;by Battalion 3601 and were each awarded a&nbsp;<strong>monetary reward of 7 million MMK<\/strong>.
