The Myanmar military junta carried out airstrikes in the Waw Lay<\/strong> area, located along the Thai\u2013Myanmar border<\/strong>, using a Russian-made YAK-130 fighter jet<\/strong>, according to reports from Thai news outlet Khaosod<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 13<\/strong>, in the afternoon, the junta launched an aerial attack by dropping seven bombs<\/strong> from a fighter jet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Waw Lay strategic base<\/strong>, which had been surrounded and attacked by drone strikes from joint resistance forces led by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)<\/strong>, sustained a direct drone bombing hit<\/strong> on its ammunition depot on July 11<\/strong>, resulting in a massive explosion, the Force for Federal Democracy (FFD)<\/strong> stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, on July 12<\/strong>, following the seizure of Ukrith military base<\/strong> near Waw Lay by KNLA and allied revolutionary forces, the junta retaliated with airstrikes on the Waw Lay region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At present, among the junta\u2019s military outposts along the Thai border, only Waw Lay strategic base<\/strong> and Tiseik Hlae outpost<\/strong>, located to the south of Myawaddy<\/strong>, remain under junta control, as other bases have been successively seized by resistance forces led by the KNLA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fierce clashes erupted in Hpakant Township<\/strong>, Kachin State, on the night of July 12<\/strong>, during which artillery shells fired by junta forces<\/strong> struck civilian homes, setting them ablaze. Two men caught in the crossfire were killed, according to People Spring<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fighting occurred in the evening of July 12<\/strong>, near Ahmoakpon Village<\/strong>, Mashikahtaung Ward<\/strong>, and along the road leading to Seikmu Village<\/strong>, specifically in front of the Shwe Myanmar petrol station<\/strong>, where a confrontation broke out between junta forces and joint forces from the Kachin Independence Army (KIA)<\/strong> and Kachin People\u2019s Defense Force (KPDF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the deceased was Ko Min Soe<\/strong>, the former village head of Ahmoakpon<\/strong>, who had accompanied the junta troops. His body was reportedly pushed off a vehicle<\/strong> by junta soldiers as they fled the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second casualty was identified as U Bran Moon<\/strong>, a civilian who had been driving back when he was caught in the crossfire and fatally struck by gunfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, on the morning of July 13<\/strong>, the junta conducted a drone bombing attack<\/strong> on the dormitory of the Kachin National Development and Mining Company<\/strong> near Taungpyo Village<\/strong>, injuring six staff members<\/strong>, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmoakpon Village was originally under the control of KIA and KPDF forces until junta troops entered the area at the end of June. The resistance forces temporarily withdrew, but have now resumed counterattacks, leading to intense renewed fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, at around 9:00 p.m. on July 12<\/strong>, junta forces fired heavy artillery into Hmawmaung Hlyan Village<\/strong>, Hpakant Township, causing explosions and burning several homes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report states that on July 10<\/strong>, Comrade Paulu<\/strong>, Deputy Platoon Commander of KPLA Battalion 9424, died while serving his duties in defense of his country and ethnic people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His death was described as a significant loss<\/strong> for the battalion. He was remembered as a brave and dutiful soldier<\/strong> who had fulfilled his assigned responsibilities with dedication and commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A soldier from Military Signals Battalion No. 2 (ASAR-2)<\/strong> based in Naypyidaw Council Territory<\/strong> has defected to the People\u2019s Defense Team (Pa Ka Pha)<\/strong> in Wetlet Township<\/strong>, according to a statement released by the Wetlet Pa Ka Pha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defecting soldier, identified as Moe Kaung<\/strong>, fled together with his family and made contact with the Wetlet Pa Ka Pha<\/strong>, seeking refuge among the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pa Ka Pha confirmed that Moe Kaung and his family were received, verified, and are being kept safe and protected in accordance with human rights standards<\/strong>. They also issued an open invitation to other junta soldiers<\/strong> to defect and join the people’s side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 6<\/strong>, a police officer stationed in Hakha<\/strong>, Chin State<\/strong>, defected from the junta and joined the people\u2019s resistance movement by surrendering with his weapons and ammunition<\/strong> to the Chinland Defense Force \u2013 Hakha (CDF-Hakha)<\/strong>, according to an official release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defector was warmly welcomed<\/strong>, provided with a monetary reward<\/strong>, and escorted safely to a secure location<\/strong>, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CDF-Hakha reaffirmed that they always welcome<\/strong> those who wish to leave the military dictatorship<\/strong> and join the people\u2019s cause, and assured that they will take responsibility for ensuring the safe relocation<\/strong> of any such individuals to secure areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF)<\/strong> has announced that it is currently recruiting new members<\/strong> to join its ranks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the announcement, eligible applicants<\/strong> must be between the ages of 18 and 35<\/strong> and in good physical health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recruits are expected to be capable of adhering to the rules and regulations<\/strong> established by the MSRF and must be able to dutifully fulfill responsibilities assigned<\/strong> by the force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
